Fantastic landing on a scarily short landing strip. Perfect day for visibility and perfect timing and speed on approach. You can tell you are a very humble man, Captain and willing to share your knowledge and experience with other trainee pilots to enhance flying safety for everyone. I hope you have a very happy retirement in due course. Thank you for sharing your insight with Just Planes 🎉🎊🍾
Dear Jonie
Thank you for your very kind comment, pinched my heart.
@@frankmontel1944 You're welcome Frank. I think flying is the nearest thing to Heaven.
Nice approach in this French overseas island 🇾🇹 with these beautiful landscapes Thank you for the videos ✈️

That was like the perfect short field runway landing!!
Good luck and health in retirement, Captain. You have a good crew. Great attitudes and professional.
Thank u very much
@@frankmontel1944 I’d love to be one of the folks in your professional care on that 787. You obviously have more than a clue! Great career.
Excited here!!❤️🇵🇭
787 has such a beautiful flight deck
Yeah landing a 787 at Mayotte is challenging ! Scenic approach to be expected !
They took an intersection takeoff !
Wow they sometimes land at Mayotte at night !!!
Wow, this was just amazing!!
What a wonderful crew!! ❤️

Great

nice
Nice video, thank you very much, how many passengers were on the flight from Paris to Mayotte and back and does the weight that the captain indicated include the fuel and the passengers
Nice
Radar altimeter when at 20 AGL, the throttles seemed to go back to idle by themselves, automatically? Can someone explain? Looks like something different on the 787s. (I've been out of the loop for some years. :) )
Yes the auto throttle on the 777 and 787 automatically retards to idle , although you can manually idle the thrust too by just pulling the throttle back like what the captain did at 40ft
@@rayanaltowayan9558 Thank you Rayan.
@@plsniper anytime
It's also the same for the 737ng
@@Hk-uw8my interesting, why do pilots disconnect autopilot + auto throttle on the 737 but not on the 777/787 ?
Yeah its old first officer, he should going to be Captain well
Je avion je fasil

Paris maravilhoso
What a silly location for an airport, yes stick the approach path near a hill. Great pilots. Happy retirement Captain, once a pilot always a pilot!
Boeing、is best🤗I love 747💖
Captain… your epaulettes are on backwards
Dear Friedrice,
I was very surprised of your comment because as a young pilot, I learnt how to put on my epaulettes with the story of Trafalgar battle and Nelson Admiral wounded on his shoulder and who needed a scarf. And since I'm very careful of that. French ship epaulettes (and planes) are to be wear with the hole as a symbol of the neck, and the epaulettes / scarf going back with the wind (and not front) as a symbol of the scarf for Nelson shoulder. And that's why in french the name is " Galons Nelson". Few people, included french pilots know that.
So I admit on some pictures we can believe they are not well positioned, but I think this should be optic illusion, as at the end of the first leg we can see epaulettes on the right position.
Regards
At time 5:30 epaulettes backward.....my beers Friedrice😀
@@frankmontel1944 thank you for that explanation, I wasn’t familiar with the history behind it. At 00:12 in the briefing room you can see it clear as day. What aircraft do you fly?
@@frankmontel1944 my bad captain, I didn’t realize I was communicating with the Captain himself. My compliments on your skills and professionalism
Not perfect landing.....??
Mínimos
12:02 a bit close to that hill no?
Close, but as explained by the captain
