  • Hello Peanut Gallery! This is the quilt I made for my mother's 94th birthday. This is a rag quilt that is quilt as you go one row at a time. It ended up being a very quick quilt to make! I would totally make this one again and again! I hope you enjoy!

Hello Darlene, have just found you on u-tube as I was flicking through for quilting tips. Love your approach to the whole thing ( as when things don't go according to plan!), love all your tips, wish we had a Walmart in England as stuff sounds so reasonably cheap, I.e. the handle on your ruler, great idea
I cannot wait to see more of your quilting work shops,
      Kindest regards, Barbie Jobling❤️

This gave me almost as much joy to watch as I'm sure it did for you to make something so special for your mom's 94th birthday...what a blessing! Also want to say you may have missed your calling to be a comedienne...you are so funny and it's real treat to watch and listen to you.

I've seen lovely quilts made from wool and also linen. Any fabric that can be washed and that will hold up well with use.

Hi Darlene, I totally love what you did for your Mum and that you could integrate really everything she asked for. So, please say Happy Birthday to your Mummy and my greetings from Germany. I'm so happy you could do this for your mother, because unfortunately I can't do it for mine anymore as he already passed away. That's why I see the endless love between a Mum and a daughter in this project.

Hi Darlene! I have been up all night engrossed in your tutorials. I love your style, your down to earthiness, your transparency and your wittyness. I'd love to come sew with you! Thanks for the sewing videos. You make it look so easy and un-stressful. I had a friend who I would sew with. We made all sorts of things. I would come up with the ideas and she would figure out how to implement them. I was devastated when she told me she is moving back east to Massachusetts. She is leaving in two weeks. We both currently live in central California. I thought who's going to be the brains now? You are my new brains! Now I just need to clean out my sewing room so I have room to sew and embroider. Love the quilt as you go method. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for giving me some inspiration and motivation. God bless!

Donna Simpson + Donna Simpson Sorry to hear your friend is moving away. So many options to keep in touch these days even face to face tech wise. You'll still have loads of great ideas rolling around in your head and she can still come up with ways to pull those ideas together.. don't give up! You both can still have loads of Fun together, just long distance now. :O) Plus you've got Darlene's videos! Please don't give up the idea that things won't still be loads of fun with your friendship/creativity buddy in MA to help you create! Think of all the wonderful things that can be made! :O) Life will just be a bit different is all. Guess I wrote this because I felt sad she was leaving and I felt your sadness. Plus I wish I had a friend to create with again. :) xo's

I must say, It is so nice to finally come across another person who's sewing style is like mine. Care free and fun. I hate sewing if I have to worry about corners lining up and seam perfection. I just cut and sew as I go. That makes it fun. Less fuss and way more enjoyable! Thanks for the video.

I love the honey comb fabric! Then again I love bees so maybe that’s why I’m drawn to it. Love your videos, I am a beginner and watching you is so relaxing and you inspire me! Thanks for all your hard work in making these videos.

I love how this came out, love the lace. I wasn't sure at first about the backing being fall, I love the idea but I was thinking of those colors as sashing on the spring side and couldn't make it work in my mind. It's gorgeous and she has two quilts.
Good job, Darlene, it really looks nice.
