5:05 A real one definitely has Shure decal both, on top and bottom. I'm sitting in front of one and checked pictures from Google too. That fake is very well done. Packaging is very very good. The long wire was the most clear giveaway to me.
I too looked at a bunch of google images and there are definitely some real-reals without the decal on the bottom. If there are real ones with the with a bottom decal I’d guess that’s new like the green on the box. I think opening it up and looking at the wires inside is the biggest determiner at this point. But yes it’s scary how good this fake is and eBay and Marketplace are absolutely awash in them.
Ebay is awash with shure & Sennheiser fakes, there is no need for either company to discount their products to the prices often seen on eBay. If it looks too good to be true it often is.
I can't believe you fell for this. Come on, did you really think you could get a SM7B for $139.00? ebay also has a lot of Nuemann TLM 103s. Way too cheap to be authentic
The cheap price should of been a dead giveaway to you it's fake. Only buy NEW Shure microphones from authorized dealers. If you buy used, it's a gamble regardless unless you know the person.
Wow thats crazy, there are more and more fake pro audio issues online these days. SM7Bs have gotten so popular since "podcasters" have stopped using or even knowing what a "lav mic" is... so annoying that no one uses lav mics anymore or even know what they are.
I have a lav mic, an older realistic. I’ve never used it much. I think podcasters generally are following a trend though I’m not sure why the SM7b won out over the RE20. Probably what they want is a rich, full sound and lavs aren’t super know for that. Though you can get that out of small diaphragm shotgun mics of pro quality. I used an RE20 like 30 years ago and I’d love to get a used one some day. Luckily I don’t think they’re being faked!
@@mullydoesmusic-ishstuff5506 to me as a pro audio engineer, it's just weird, that, for decades, I have seen interviews done with small lav mics on people shirt- suddenly no one can talk to each other unless they have something that looks like a hair dryer in front of their faces with giant boom stands- it's frumpy looking and gets in the way of their faces and to me, just looks dumb. Much easier solutions out there...
Ok-ish. I did plug it in and listen to it. It does have some background noise, more than you’d expect on a high end dynamic mic. Handling noise was BAD. I wouldn’t trust it in high spl applications like on a kick.
Its a good looking mic, better pop rejection, and its pleasant to listen to most spoken word over long periods. But yeah, overpriced is an understatment. And if your not filiming yourself using it, you could just get away with almost any dynamic mic handheld mic.

Are you filing it with Ebay & Paypal for a full refund?
Yes I reported it a fake to eBay and shipped it back yesterday.
@@mullydoesmusic-ishstuff5506 Good. Nothing worst than receiving fake goods.

I don't get the hype about that microphone....can't be the sound...it's actually a overpriced sm58 in disguise.
