Samsung is more natural
It's a bit of a toss up. I do like the Samsung in some instances, but overall I think the iPhone 16 Pro performs best.
What video were you watching? It is clear that the Samsung is oversaturating the colors to make it look higher in quality.

Everyone is constantly stressing out about it. If you know what you are doing when taking photos, it doesn’t matter what phone you have, photos will still be edited, as for the rest, all of you will use snapchat or TikTok or instagram filters anyway, and majority of people can’t even detect the difference.
I saw a few pro photographer reviews, and they said that to get great photos on the iPhone in daylight, dial down the exposure between 0.7 and 1 and make sure the settings remember the last use. At night, you may want to dial that back a bit. So, there is an easy solution to the dynamic range issues.
I understand that reviewers use default settings to critique, but these days, it is easy to get the look and quality you want on all phones. For example, on Xiaomi, I switched to Leica Natural as I prefer the less vibrant shots.
So, although these comparisons are nice, they are irrelevant for me as I buy a flagship, so I can take the photos I want with a little tweaking. On the base, mid-range, and lower flagships, yes, default camera tests are more relevant as buyers may not be as pro-camera as flagship users.
Who win?
To be honest, I prefer the Samsung footage a majority of the time. Sure, Night Video on the Selfie camera isn't great, but on the main camera, it is clearer and more natural looking. I am looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra as the Camera System can gain a significant boost with AI... I am not sure if the sensors will be new. We shall see!

How did you deal with the awful post processing?
I had the S24 Ultra and changed for Pixel 9 Pro XL, mainly for the camera. I've been a bit disappointed tbh, so I will buy the S25 Ultra in January. I wasn't tempted by the iPhone 16 Pro Max this year. Honestly, overall, the S24 Ultra is better here. Great comparison as always, thanks from the UK Devon ❤
I would even say the opposite since I have both phones. The S24 ultra has a poor selfie camera, unlike the iPhone 16 pro. Samsung lacks natural colors and clear detail. Regarding the screen, if you start a 2k hdr video, in my case it was 4k hdr japan on UA-cam - the iPhone has louder speakers and a colorful screen. Video at night, the iPhone won, the camera on the Samsung showed a blue tint, while the iPhone showed real colors.
iphone feels sometimes too white - selfie intro and also the meal images, little bit too white for my taste

S24 Ultra performance is better even in video footage
Overall nice job, I like the background music, would be nice if you had a co host. I think both phones did well at different things, some of those daytime shots from Samsung were really nice and iPhone 16 Pro is better at low light, I'm sticking with my S24 Ultra because it has more features, flexibility, and options.

How’s the shutter lag on moving subjects - eg: kids on the normal camera auto mode? Are the photos blurry? A lot of mixed reviews out there

There's clearly something wrong with your phone, there is no way the iPhone is so terrible. All other reviews i've seen show it to perform the same if not better in some cases

Yeah I think a lot of these UA-cam videos they make one look worse than it actually is I can’t find a honest review about what phone I should get I have iPhone but I thought the camera was better on s24 but I can’t find the evidence on UA-cam to make the switch.

I think samsung better on day photos and a little bit in video, camera(s24u) more detailed than on the iPhone 16 pro and the Samsung’s camera have a more correct tones but in videos at night iPhone absolutely better. And about microphone, microphone better on iPhone. So now I wanting a samsung s25u and I hope they fix situation with a darker camera and do microphone better
The iPhone videos look overexposed because they’re shot in HDR and not converted to SDR (the format of the UA-cam video). It makes the comparison misleading.
as a pixel owner the iphone pictures came out real bad so washed out . samsung day pictures and video look great at night is a different story the iPhone takes better pictures

Samsung is better like 80% of the time. Especially in cases like 6:13 and 6:36. The iPhone looks like it's trying to expose for the sky, but then the entire rest of the image is screwed up. At 9:40, the Samsung just does a much better job at controlling the lighting.
I've noticed this with my 15 Pro Max as well, when I compared it side-by-side to a Pixel 9 Pro. At night, the Pixel looked almost true to life. The iPhone cranked up the lighting so much it didn't even look like night-time any more.

i don't like the iphone pictures or videos, there is something wrong there the pictures are too bright and loosing many details , i think the HDR there is very bad!! Don't know if that is HW or SW related!
Using a 50mp and 200mp indoors in less than ideal lighting is just dumb.

It's the other way around now Samsung is the new iPhone and iPhone is now the new Samsung with saturation. But overall for video I will still go with the iPhone.

I think the galaxy is doing better in most cases.
Samsung is definitely more realistic and high quality. iPhone provides eye-pleasing images with corrections that people will like. It is never better technically.

Its bizarre to me how in most scenarios, the Galaxy wins in the department, whereas in other video comparisons I've seen, the iPhone wins in similar scenarios
While the iPhone is washed out in the car video, never will I go back to the iPhone, last phone was ip 14 pro, what I have right now is the S24 ultra which is now superb with the September update. With natural color and one of the best white balance.
iPhone gave a yellow cast while my s24 ultra gave a natural white and blue color with the image.
Terrible comparisons, some pictures the focus is on a completely different object...
While zooming on the s24 ultra there's such a noticable jitter and cropping it's just bad.
It looks like the iPhone needs to fix its processing in video through an update.

Na minha visão a Ultra Wide da Apple é nitidamente superior, agora o sensor principal de 200 megapixel da Samsung tbm é superior ao principal da Apple e a telefoto de 5x é mais complicado porém da Apple parece ser mais estável.
Samsung gives you that cinematic quality. Iphone is definitely too light.
I dont understand , in some youtube comparisons the s 24 ultra is more sarurated and the iphone is more contrasted, in some they are the other way around. In some the iphone is cleaner and the samsung is oversharpened , in some they are the other way around. Man just get what you want . Now i have a samsung in a few years i wil try the iphone again. They are both smooth and top notch dont care what isheeps and samshit fans are claiming that theyrs are the best.
