I'm 75 and have been following rock, as well as pretty much all other genres. I've also played bass in a few gigs many years ago and my last playing was in Latin, playing the congas and timbales. But in all my years I haven't seen anyone like Band-Maid, and that's not to knock other rock groups, especially instrumentalists like The Surfaris, The Ventures and The Shadows. But Band-Maid does instrumentals that aren't just them jamming. I've listened to Onset about a hundred times with varying types of headphones and trying to isolate the individual instruments and see how they blend in together. Kanami has basically created a masterpiece, a very technical masterpiece that is just perfect in so many ways and with the excellence of her, Misa, Miku and Akane in their playing, has set a new bar to measure hard rock by.
The happiest band in the world BAND-MAID Not only are their compositions great, but they also have the fun of trusting each other and playing. Each other creates a moment when all the members shine, and only one person does not stand out. They are very cute, but they try to show their hands instead of their faces. I feel their desire to concentrate on the songs and performances and make them acknowledge.
GJ Chloe!! I know you pump out a lot of reaction videos. Thank you for sharing this BM performance with your UA-cam family 🙏. I'm going to see the Maid's live in Houston TX, October 22nd. Can't hardly wait 😂✌️❤️🌹🇺🇲
Onset was so Saiki the singer could take a break....They have other instrumentals to check out. "Without Holding Back"..."Giovanni"...."Don't Be Long"...."Giovanni" my fav...Which is an instrumental of a vocal track.
Seeing them October 25th Washington DC!!!!! Can't wait!!!!! Maid lore has it that the working title for this Song was Saiki's pee break. True? Don't care. In 20 years it'll be gospel! Legend. Great band. Great Reaction!😊😎🤘
Fortunately Band-Maid is So Freakin' Cool that they put out a version of their last album _sans_ vocals. Not that we don't love the vocals but suddenly there's more in the instrumentation than anyone knew was there before.
Onset is a MASTERPIECE! If you like "call n response" stuff, you should check out the live versions of Turn Me On, Don't You Tell Me & Take Me Higher. All of them have epic "battles" between Misa (Bass) and Kanami (Lead Guitar). To see Akane (Drummer) at her happiest, check out her incredible solo in Freedom. It'll make you smile ear to ear, just watching her! 🤘😁🤘
Personally, I think Chloe is one of the most level-headed reactors out there. No crazy excitement, no fuss, no rants. Recognizes when something is good in the performance. Quick appropriate comments where needed. (I didn't get that call and response part though...maybe I should review the song again...). Chloe's reaction is pretty Zen-like. That's really cool, ice-cool. I like this reaction and reactor a lot.
For some more Japan Female Metal Band goodness you should try out Lovebites. The two songs I would check out from them are Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] or Set The World On Fire [Live from "Ride For Vengeance Tour 2021"] on the bands UA-cam. As a bit of a bonus Lovebites sings in English. They just had the bass player leave and are looking for tryouts right now till the end of May sometime.
Song is called "Onset" because it's an instrumental they can go into whenever Saki experiences an onset of the "call of nature" and needs to visit a rest room.
Great song, great band. I like instrumental games (Orion, Transylvania, ...). In various rankings at the top of Japanese guitarists, two names appear most often. Kanami (BM) and Saki (Mary's Blood, now Nemophila). Saki, often called Queen of the Shred, is a real institution and a great musical output. I recommend for reaction: Mary's Blood / Marionette (MV / Full version) ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html I don't know much about Kanami yet, except that he plays brilliantly.
"For BAND-MAID to be using up so many ideas in each song, a lot of bands who are maybe lazier will save those cos those small ideas may trigger other full songs. B-M are super brave to throw it all in & make it the best it can absolutely be , because they're confident they can make more like this" Chase Carneson, top YT reactor & prophet :)
@@jeremydawkins8814 Well it' 10:30 pm here & i accidently had a fight with a bottle of Pernod on my birthweek celebrations & fell asleep for 6hrs. I've just checked the bottle & i've beaten it's contents within an inch of it's life.🥴
How can anyone take seriously a person reacting to a song who musters about as much enthusiasm as a dry fart and who has pictures of Baby Metal hanging on their wall?
I'd like to suggest a new band for you to check out. The Japanese all girl Pop-Rock/Pop-Punk band SCANDAL. Here is a link to a live performance of their song "Image" ua-cam.com/video/XtUYWObL718/v-deo.html

The only band capable of making their instrumental songs as catchy as when they use their two vocalists.
Yes! Asterism has just begin to sing on their songs so, who knows.. maybe there are 2 bands soon *-)
As good as onset is, nothing beats the instrumental version of No God. You can't find it on UA-cam sadly only on BiliBili but it Sooooo good!

I love that "bonky" tom Akane uses here to keep the back beat.
in band maid in all songs EVERYONE always gets recognition hehehehe

Rhythm guitar, Miku (5'); Lead guitar, Kanami (5'1"): Tiny dynamite.
Masterpieceっぽ!

Um, you are forgetting about Miyako, Midori, Halca, Yuki and a few more.
Please react to Shinedown Planet Zero. You will get hooked on the drums, and guitar riff
Nice reaction. Non-sequitur: you look like the guitarist from The Flock of Seagulls but with longer hair back in the 80s.

And that's exactly what they do. Every song. Since day 1. Without Holding Back.🎸🥁🎤
