MISA (the bassest) has been with Band-Maid since the beginning. She was brought onboard from the suggestion of drummer (Akane) with whom she was already friends through the Tokyo school of music Next year will be the 10th anniversary of these fantastic musicians. If this doesn't get you're blood pumping you're already dead.
Misa was thinking of quiting the band tho... Before their first US tour. She changed her mind during the tour after seeing the love from the fans. Imagine Bandmaid without Misa... ... ...
Ironically, rather than lose a player they've gained a player. Miku, one of the vocalists, took up rhythmic guitar to help give the band a fuller sound. In the 9 years since they were founded she's become a really great guitar player.
@@jofujino I agree 100 percent. Miku is the heart and soul of Band-Maid. Music is more than technical excellence. It's about making a connection to your audience. Look at Babymetal, they don't even play instruments.

Sorry Jeff but it's Lovebites that have got a new bassist. Misa is Band Maid's only bassist and is exceptional. Maybe try their performance of Manners / Black Hole. For an exceptional bassist try Asterism playing Dawn or Church.
Jeff, Sue is right, way TMI on regularity. LOL Lovebites lost their bass player, Miho, just replaced by Fami. Now that you have found , and enjoyed, Band Maid and Lovebites, I'd like to suggest another Japanese all female band, Nemophila. Try Dissension, Reitei, Seize the Fate, and for Jeff's channel, covers of Iron Maiden's The Trooper and Aces High.
They have 2 other standout instrumentals (would be 3 as Play started out as an instrumental) - Without Holding Back and From Now On which is from their new EP which they performed at most of their shows on their recently completed US tour, there are plenty of excellent fancams available of From Now On (arguably their best instrumental so far). Instrumentally their songs are so good that they release instrumental versions of a lot of their stuff, usually as bonus CD's. Giovanni is my favourite of those.
The looks on your faces said it all, Onset is simply a MASTERPIECE!! Some other of their instrumentals that will knock your socks off are Without Holding Back and Giovanni. From Now On is spectacular as well, but has no MV. Thanks again!🤘🤩🤘
There is only one MISA! Perfect fit for Band Maid. But a lot of great bassists in the Japanese scene where composers go out of their way way to highlight all the talents in a band. J-Rock and J-Metal here to stay. 🤘

Band Maid hasn’t had a line up change since their debut in 2013! They’ve been together all this time and their love for each other is very evident on stage and in their interactions off stage as well! From what I’ve seen other people say, band mates that genuinely like and enjoy each other is rare? Also, you two seem very knowledgeable and I would love to hear more of your thoughts about the music and technical aspects as well! What about Misa’s base solo was so amazing? What about this instrumental captivated vs other instrumentals you’ve heard? I’d love to know the whys behind it!
This band are one of the very best bands out there… everything they’ve done to date has been excellent. And live they kill it. So so good. Recommend checking out their stuff, both on MV and live! Satisfaction guaranteed.
This is a great performance, but their lead singer, Saiki, is a top-tier frontwoman, so maybe "Freedom" official live would be good next. Band-Maid has never had a lineup change, unless you count the addition of Saiki about a month after their founding when they decided to change from a four-piece to a five-piece. The members' ages were 24-27 at the time of this video, and they are 28-31 now.
Great Reaction guys. My favorite Band Maid song. Misu is such a beast on bass. Hopefully you caught her switching from pick to fingers in the solo. So amazing.
Fun fact, they started adding instrumentals partly because their lead vocalist, Saiki, was straining her vocals on long sets with too little downtime between concerts. Now they use the instrumentals, and the Omajinai-time, comedic interactions with the audience, to give her time to rest. On their recent, US tour though it was so exhausting even their guitarist had to take a back stage break and rest during Omajinai-time.
@@jofujino ya Kanami didn't do Japanese lesson time with Saiki during their last show so Miku filled in for her. And another reason they do instrumentals is because I think they want people to take their musicianship seriously and they know lots of people like instrumentals.

I too have been a Judas Priest fan since 1979 and they have been my only band to listen to practically since this century began, but by chance I stumbled upon BAND-MAID 3 and a half years ago and in a very short time they managed to relegate my beloved Judas, who I am celebrating their induction into the Hall of Fame, to the background. MISA is the bassist. She is also known as the 'Barefoot Assassin'. She plays all live shows with bare feet. And assassinates the bass. It is definitely 'Lovebites' that changed bass players. Miho left and has now been replaced by Fami. A great clip for a reaction would be "Manners/Black Hole" (live). As brilliant as all the Maids are, MISA owns both songs in that clip. But any live performance suggested by any commenter, will knock your socks off. ua-cam.com/video/iaf94nNSRGE/v-deo.html
These are not "little girls" and though they may be smallish in stature, BAND-MAID towers over the rock-n-roll world, they dominate! FYI: they are all in their very early thirties, except for lead singer Saiki who will be 29 on Feb 8th, 2023.
You see the progression of female musicians here in Band Maid. Kanami on lead guitar is the composer now. Misa on bass (always has been) and Akane on drums are all multi instrumentalists. Miku on rhythm guitar has had to learn craft since joining. This footage was taken in 2018 when they were in their mid 20's. Just concluded a 12 date tour of the US with 20k fans attending. Rave reviews as they are simply outstanding live as you see here. They really set the standard in female professional musicianship.
Today i see you enjoy a nice guitar play, so i have to recommend you to have a look to Tina S. For sure one of the best you can experience. My Favorites are "For the Love of God" a Steve Vai cover, but mostly people startet with "Moonlight Sonata". Yes Beethoven on guitar. Or the Dragon Force song "Thrue the fire and the flames". Herman Li reacts to her, funny to watch his face while seeing that. She do this till the age of max 17y.. There still rumors what happens and why she sadly does no new Videos. But i hope she is fine and thankfully she giftet us some really impressive guitar experiences. Greetings from Germany, stay safe & healthy!
Band-Maid didn't lose their bass player, that was Lovebites. Band-Maid is still all the original lineup. However, you're not the first reactors I've heard say that recently, so I think someone out there is spreading some bad information to reactors.
The thing about Band-Maid is that if MISA, the bassist, left the group there would be no more Band-Maid. Each member of Band-Maid is just as important as any other. Band-Maid is five of the most talented musicians in the world. Without one, there is none. This band makes me happy.
They DO NOT have a new bass player. Misa has been with them from the start. Nemophila has a new bass player. Someone started a stupid rumor that Misa left Band Maid. NOT TRUE.
What's going on here is actually easy to answer. The for many, currently best rock band shows what they are capable of. 🔥🤘🏻 Another good song that can lift the mood quite well is certainly 'Freedom' (Live). And with that, also from me a slightly delayed 'Welcome to the pigeonhole' and greetings from Germany. :) _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
Sorry Wolfman but youre getting Band Maid and Lovebites mixed up. Band Maid have had the same lineup since they formed. Miku (original vocalist) the one with twin twirls and the red flower had the dream of a hard rock band dressed in Maid uniforms - she worked in a Maid Cafe. Miku first came across Kanami (Lead Guitar) on Japan's equivalent to UA-cam back in 2012/2013 on which Kanami was posting home made videos of herself playing guitar. Kanami was approached and liked the concept. Kanami knew and suggested Akane (Drummer) and Akane knew and suggested Misa (Bass)... Shortly after they formed as a four piece band, Miku realised they needed a more Rock orientated voice for the vocals and so Saiki the one with the blue flower was brought into the lineup after auditioning, with Miku the original lead singer agreeing to learn to play Rhythm guitar to add to the bands musical flexibility - being taught by Kanami. Miku does occasionally take lead vocals and is the more outgoing of the band and so takes a lead role in promoting the band and interviews alongside Saiki.
I didn't read all the comments so you might have heard this. BAND-MAID did a cover of "Honey" (ハニー) by MUCC. It was a hidden track on the album "World Domination". Both versions are very good. imho. ua-cam.com/video/lamaaLxPPT8/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/TW9phmAGGEs/v-deo.html
I like most of their songs but I think I like the instrumentals best. The bass, drums, and lead guitar have a chance to let loose. Two other instrumentals that won't disappoint you are Without Holding Back ua-cam.com/video/rF3RbQEowuM/v-deo.html and From Now On ua-cam.com/video/pN_wg8UAz9A/v-deo.html . From Now On is my current favorite song.

"🤘🤘 ¡ ¡ ¡ B A N D M A I D H E A D ! ! ! 🤘🤘"
"They reinvent Rock n Roll in every song they do?" Really? Their 2 songs "Warning" & "Black Hole" was reinvented? Does The Warning come to mind? Uhhhhh, yes.
I always wear my MISA MISA MISA T- shirt when i listen to " ONSET " =) Check out another masterpiece by Band-Maid ! The "Blooming" MV =) Thanks
As a Nightwish and Floor fan i must admit that this Japanese Band is one of my favourite
All good musicians
I've got the vibe since 2016
Band-Maid did not lose their bass player so all is good.
Miku Kobato 31 (小鳩 ミク) - rhythm guitar, vocals, lyrics, the one who started the band
Kanami Tōno 31 (遠乃 歌波) - lead guitar, writes most of the songs
Akane Hirose 31 (廣瀬 茜) - drums, gorilla ;-)
Misa - 29 bass godess (dont get me wrong all of them are godesses)
Saiki Atsumi 28 (厚見 彩姫) - lead vocals and crowd control ;-)
MISA turned 30 a couple of weeks ago.
@@Metal_Auditor Alright, did know about the birthday. Did not know that it was the 30th 😅
Read a few of the comments on the videos you do on Band maid and you wont have soooo many questions that have already been answered.

That’s the original bass player. They have had the same members since 2013. The greatest rock/hard rock band in the world.
You still need to hear SAIKI and KOBATO singing live. I recommend again DOMINATION (quit different from the studio version), and also FREEDOM and PLAY, all from a performance captured before Covid.

7:10 No. BAND-MAID is still the original lineup. No one has left the band since their forming.
Hi i would like recommend: Bandmaid-Different official vid.
Lovebites-Burden of Time studio live.
Miho left, the bassist of LOVEBITES, now they have a new bassist, Fami.
This is the same bass player as always…Lovebites is the band who lost their bass player.
So many great bass players in Japan. Not a problem.
Misa Misa Misa the best bass player.
These are not "little girls" and though they may be smallish in stature, BAND-MAID towers over the rock-n-roll world, they dominate!
FYI: they are all in their very early thirties, except for lead singer Saiki who will be 29 on Feb 8th, 2023.
Uh, MISA is almost 5'9" and Akane is 5'6". Saiki is 5'4". The two tiny ones are Kanami 5'1" and Miku 5'.

Fixed it for you.

@@ShikataGaNai100 I'm complementing your comment, not asking you to change it. Damn how upset some people gets with no reason.
No. Band-Maid has had the same line up for 10 years. You're confused . Lovebites has a new bassist.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!! a cover that Band-Maid does is "Honey" originally by another Japanese band MUCCU
👍😃
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃
Hi kon-nichiwa こんにちは!!
Band Maid: Simply Beautiful 🤘😎
Band-Maid didn't lose their bass player, that was Lovebites. Band-Maid is still all the original lineup. However, you're not the first reactors I've heard say that recently, so I think someone out there is spreading some bad information to reactors.
They just opened for Guns n Roses concert in Japan yesterday!
NOT TRUE.
"Nemophila has a new bass player."
Lovebites, not Nemophila. Haraguchi-san has been with Nemophila from the start, and is still with the band.
Love Bites lost the bass player, they have a new one now.
What's going on here is actually easy to answer. The for many, currently best rock band shows what they are capable of. 🔥🤘🏻
Another good song that can lift the mood quite well is certainly 'Freedom' (Live).
And with that, also from me a slightly delayed 'Welcome to the pigeonhole' and greetings from Germany. :)

Misa is the original and current bass player. You're thinking of a different band.
There is a reason I only listen to female, japanese bands nowadays....
No no no LOL. Why are UA-camrs in the US keep saying they have a new bass player? lol. They are the same 5 ladies they always have been.
This MISA bass player change LIE needs to stop.....
Yes, of coures
Band Maid has had the same line up since their inception in 2013. They have no new bass player.
Cheers!
Please do your research before making false comments about who was or is in the band. It makes you look very unintelligent.
Man-made still has Misa as a bass player. Love bites lost Mijo as their bass player and now have fami their new bass player
Nope. MISA is the ONLY bass player ever of BANDMAID. You're welcome.
Band Maid NEVER changed their bass player.
Also, i challenge you to find someone who can replace Misa.
