not really, its close to an audi interior, I had a 2016 audi before buying a k5 and I don't regret it
I just wished that car makers that give their cars the ''hatchbacky'' look, actually made them a hatch/lift back. So much more practical!
I thought that about the new accord when it came out a few years ago. I totally thought it was gonna be a liftback by the way it looked..

The “Pull” actually means that you can pull the whole unit out to have a bigger compartment.

The Optima has always been called the K5 in Korea.
At least, after 2010. There was the original Optima, then the Lotze, and then the K5 (along with, of course, the K3, K7, and K9).
The cool mid-sized sedan gets a “1” on the cool factor
On a rating scale that it shares with Porsche's, Bugatti's, Lamborghini's, and Ferrari's...yes, yes it does...
Note he gave it a 6 on styling which is very high for a car in this class

That makes sense. The 2013 Ford Fusion was a very handsome car, but it's all over the road now and nobody is gonna turn their head towards a Fusion, unlike a Mustang. The K5 will be like that in a few years once it starts to sell.

“Optima” was the codename for the K5 in the US. K5 and Optima have always been the same car. In Korea has always been the K5.
Danny...Actually the Optima became the K5 in 2010 in Korea. We had one model run of the Optima before that.

K5 was called optima long ago in korea, but kia now has the full sedan lineup from k3 to k9

I love how Kia went from being super conservative with their styling to now designing things like this, the Venue, and the Stinger GT.

I have had this for a month now as a rental,all I can say is WOOOOW,this car is really amazing,absolutely!!!! Comfortable,great on gas,tons of leg room,1 cubic ft bigger trunk then Camry,and the handling around corners is shockingly great,grips around the corners near me alot better then I thought
I wanted him to open that moon/sunroof. Love it! I'll be flexing in this K5 like it's a luxury car. I'll buy it in 2022 as the second owner because I don't pay sticker price. Lol

I bought a new GT line with premium package in May. Like it very much. 0 to 60 in around 7.5 seconds is not slow. Its not super fast either. But 0 to 50 comes quite fast. It's plenty fast for everyday situations. And loves to cruise at 80 all day
Ive had my k5 since december and i still absolutely love it.
I love how the centre of the steering wheel is plastic with a "leather" texture, while the actual leather on the rim is completely smooth
Fun fact : There were lots of changes with its name in Korea.
1st gen (2000-2005) : Optima
2nd gen (2005-2010) : Lotze
3rd gen - 5th gen (2010-) : K5

Love the car! Just test drove it- The PULL is to remove the wireless charging station- It actually comes out completely! Just incase you don't have a wireless charging phone you can use it for extra storage space.

The hate is because real car enthusiasts know what’s under all this cool aesthetics, cheap materials and quality. If you didn’t know a lot of Hyundai’s and kias don’t have reinforcement in the front and a lot of their transmission and engine layouts are outdated and don’t last, like the engine recalls and gdi carbon issue
@@eVerProductions1 not a fan of Korean cars but...carbon build up affect every direct injected engines. Audi was some of the worst. Transmission and and engine layout? Where do you want to put the engine and transmission for it to be up to date?
Ljsw 2016 I was wrong, I didn’t mean layout I meant configuration. They’re using outdated transmission gearing and engine setups. Do some research on what kind of auto transmission and how their 4 cylinders are built and run. It’s all just old Asian car setups in a new body

Just make sure you avoid the feature that I didn't know I was getting with my Optima; a ton of recalls with the best being the one where the engine can literally blow itself apart at any time, possibly causing a fire. I took it to Kia and they told me "all good but here is a lifetime warranty on the engine, just in case it blows up while you are taking the kids to school."
I have the telluride 2020, its a SOLID choice for everything and for everyone. Space,style,v6 engine, awd, 4wd, made of 60% steel! Its a safe and top choice as a family car!! Smooth ride too!

Now it's usually after their 100k warranty although it happened to someone i know at 79k on a 2014 model without warranty. Props to kia though they did reply it for free.

I get a lot of looks with my K5, I have the Pearl White with red interior package and really stands out from the crowd of this class of cars especially for the price point. When I pull up next to a Camry or Accord they look so basic now.

Brought here by my rental experience. Had it for a week and didn't want to say goodbye. Drove the ups and downs, twists and turns of the PCH up north, very nice handling and pick-up even fully loaded.

@@joshua9073 Large sedans are dead (1% of the market) there is still healthy demand for small and medium cars which combined make for 25% of new car sales. Yes, CUVs are the craze right now, but such is the way of trends. Electrification will be a boon for the small and medium cars, where less weight just means more range

They stopped using that stylized "K" many years ago in Korea. But I remember it too!

I like the normal gear shift I just wish it wasn’t a handle style. Reminds me of an Oldsmobile. If they did a nicer standard gear shifter with a Kia logo and leather wrapped, or the new joystick style like in the upcoming Nissan Rogue, it would be better (to me).
