Yeah there was this one person in the comments claiming that Black women wear Asian peoples hair so we have no right to get mad and they said that under my comment too. I wear my hair natural hair proudly 24/7 now. I haven’t worn a straight wig or weave in a decade. I also talked about how much hair discrimination I experienced myself wearing my natural hair and that ignorant person that responded to my comment ignored that part. I was literally bullied and denied jobs for wearing my natural hair, braids, and faux locs but nope they don’t care. They just want to drag black women.
I've been natural since the early 90s, and unfortunately moved from NY to Memphis, where I was questioned all the time about my natural hair - by other Black people. I don't live there anymore (thank goodness) but fortunately, they've changed their views. Ironically, I never had a problem getting a job. I think at that time yt ppl didn't know what my hair was doing at all, so they didn't quite develop their prejudice yet. Every Black woman had straight hair and a lot of the men had some kind of jheri curl. Mine was probably the first natural hair the yts had ever seen in person, or if they were old enough, since the Civil Rights era.
@@hotchocolategirl1der We talk about how Asians, Whites, Hispanics degrade our hair, but Blacks do it too. They're just as brainwashed as we are. Truth is, I've gotten more compliments, by Whites (on my natural styles) than Blacks. I've heard many stories of Blacks saying derogatory things to Blacks who wore their hair natural or who wanted to do so. Some still don't like natural hair. A lot of Black women said they wear long straight hair because they know BM like it. Everything isn't due to discrimination or slavery. Many Black women prefer their hair straight. Some prefer their hair blond, regardless of what happened in the past. We need to take a good look at ourselves, in the mirror, and be honest with ourselves regardless of what others think. At the end of the day, the only thing that is important is what WE THINK of ourselves.
Yes they just want to drag black women. They want to pretend they don't understand that the hair isn't really the issue. The issue is the attitudes towards the NATURAL owners of the hair type
I remember in the 70's and 80's when they were perming their hair to wear afros. Even on that show Brady Bunch, the dude who played the father had one.
I remember writing my senior paper in HS (2013) about”Natural Hair in the Workplace” and the need for reform and laws to protect black hair in the workplace. I mentioned the crown act which was a fairly new idea at the time. I remember one of the evaluators didn’t believe the issue called for such a law, and I read her DOWN. Got my A and no one wanted the smoke with me.🤣🤣
I don't feel flattered by it, and it saddens me that BW do feel flattered. The invite to the cookout types bc they're thirsty for acceptance. I don't need non-Black people to validate anything about me. I love my hair, love my skin, love being ethnically African American, love being of African descent, love being an African Diasporan, and love being a Black woman - and that's on Mary had a little lamb - period.
THIS! THIS NEEDS TO HEARD AND SAID MORE OFTEN! I love being black, love the type 4 hair and evem thoughI have lighter skin, I still love my lighter skin. All these bw are beautiful from dark to light and We don't need ww or ww telling us that we're valid for us to FEEL or BE VALID! I hate to see bw and bm kissing up and praising any slight acceptance they get. They need to focus on uniting as a whole, as a group and strengthening their community more. Instead of looking to other groups for external validation.
I was at work and a white woman practically stood in front of me, taking her hair out of a ponytail and swinging her hair. I laughed so hard because she doesn’t know I’m part of the coffee cuties.!!
A few years ago, I was out at the restaurant. I could feel someone staring at me and I caught the eye of the staring white woman. She Consciously or subconsciously patted her hair down. All I could do was laugh and turn my head.
It’s projection. They’re jealous so they want us to be jealous of them. So majority nonblack women flip their hair for a reaction. When I see the hand lifting up in pre-flip motion I simply look the other way or if I see someone near them I compliment that person infront of them. 🤣 it’s petty but satisfying. However it’s weird when black women with weave do it to natural hair black women. smdh now that is self hate and heartbreaking.
My ex spouse was part Korean and black and her grandma owned a huge beauty supply store. I came in one day with a huge Afro and she told me I didn’t look attractive or ladylike which I think was so ironic bc of her place of business & her granddaughter being half black. Next day I showed up with a straight wig and she said I was absolutely so beautiful and “this is how a lady looks”. Needless to say I’m happy to be out of that family smh
No, it is not jealousy. Us BM are the Negro head and BW hate to see AW giving their respect and adoration to us by putting the Lamb's wool over their head the same way BW give their respect and adoration to WM by putting the goat's hair over the Lamb's wool.

Thanks sis for highlighting this issue, it’s so fascinating. I am reminded of Una Marson, a brilliant Jamaican activist and writer who said it best in her poem “Black is fancy’ - every one always wants to get on our band wagon, because of our style and flair, they just can’t help themselves. Our energy is irresistible. She also wrote another poem “Kinky hair blues” in response to the racism she experienced in Britain, where in spite of her greatness, whilst working in a prominent position at the BBC during the 1930-40’s, she was constantly discriminated against and criticised about her hair by her white colleagues. It’s remarkable that her words can still ring so true even now❣️
I learned about her in a documentary the BBC released for black history month last year in the UK, sadly it’s not on you tube but this is a great discussion about her based on her biography: ua-cam.com/video/hqKGUUp1tAE/v-deo.htmlsi=A-3ZkmHCmk3xmsYh
Thanks for commenting 🤎and I say envy because they talk bad about our hair and other qualities consistently but secretly they wish they possessed those very same qualities…this doesn’t apply to all of course but a lot of Asians have displayed this behavior 🤎
It's envy and jealousy, because admiration doesn't come w/hate and active accounts of intentional sabotage. There may be some that admire, but many of them fall into envy and jealousy.
@@CoffeeCuties777 Idk girl I think we should know that as a majority they are anti black but it really looks like these individuals are loving our aesthetic and think its just pretty.
Our hair can defy gravity, and some Asian people are copying our hair texture instead of putting Eurocentric features on a pedestal, so of course they're hating. They've been hating on our beauty and style for centuries. That will never change.
They dont envy you, you're the ones wjo've deveñoped nald patcjes putting in tight weaves and as for style, dressing up like secy red in BBLs isnt enviable. Lmao
No other law for hair discrimination other than black woman, but there is in effect no discrimination against Muslim men and women who wear hajjibs and head covering for religious reasons.
Honestly hijab has nothing to do with afro hair. Hijab is fachist , misogynistic and inferiorization of women and non-muslims women in society. Even if i stand with nappy people, i would never stand with hijabi supporters.
In Middle East , according to the political situation , Turkey , Iran , Egypt and Tunisia has banned hijab from 30’s until 80’s. Which is totally understandable. Now Tajikistan ban hijab while Afghanistan constrain burqa. In Europe , Brazil and India there is laws against hijab and other Muslim religious symbols.
I just watched your video and am a subscriber, I love your channel by the way. I just wanted to point out that the tignon laws were created in Louisiana by the spanish governor at the time Esteban Rodriguez. White people were so busy attacking Black women that several race mixtures were present, like mulatto, quadroons, octaroons, etc. It became so much that they needed a scarf to visually show that these people were not white, and so as to not pass they made them wear this head scarf. This put the eternal tie of " being from the slave class" and to make white people feel better as they thought this was putting " black women in their place". As far as natural hair, it is beautiful and I wish more black people would see this. We need to embrace our own hair, and stop the self hatred of wearing other cultures hair textures. It is a thing and I have talked to many black women that carry this internalized inferiority towards their hair. Let's start the conversations and healing that needs to be done instead of tearing each other down.
Wow 😮 Thank you for sharing deeper insight on the Tignon Law. I will have to do a separate video on this law to clear up any misunderstandings from previous videos. Please email me at coffeecuties777@gmail.com if you have more resources I can use for the video🤎🤎🤎
Thank you so much for your great videos and insightful dialogs. I really enjoy your content and it is huge for uplifting natural hair vibes in our community. Herr are a few links about the tignon law you might find interesting

Everyone likes what they don’t have. Anybody with sense know that 4c hair is dominant in black women. I don’t think Asians need to make an announcement for wearing black hair texture styles, because it’s obvious. Let Asians wear black air and be proud of it because they chemically treated their hair to look like us by the hair. It should help us embrace our natural hair. Black women have been wearing there hir more in recent years.
All I’m going to say. There are indigenous black Asians. That live all over Asia. My friend who’s family are from the Philippines talk about blk Asian. They are the hidden faces. Also Asian have different ethnicities, races of people. So you can’t put them all the same.

Another law from the past I've learned about was how anyone could be denied church membership if their hair did not effectively glide through a narrow tooth comb as they walked passed the church entrance. I've learned this while listening to an interview about Isis Brantley. She's the black woman from Texas who was arrested for braiding hair without a license and fought for herself, for over a decade, to do so. She also grandfathers other women into learning how to do traditional African hair braiding and I believe is the reason African hair braiding is now part of cosmetology school. She is not celebrated enough and what makes society disgusting is how all races of women have learned a custom that actually is a necessity for Afro/Indigenous ppl, but they never pay homage nor fight for us to not be discriminated against. Did you know there is a white Eastern European woman who has learned our craft, and was given "The Best Braider" award? She also profits from this and has opened a shop where many of her clients are white and get African styled braids. She teaches classes on Kanekalon and trains others (lets be real , majority WW, how to braid intricately on the scalp). Not once have I heard her pay respect to black women or Isis Brantley. I've never heard her or other WW who wear braids fight for our (black ppl's) identity. And to be quite frank, the few WW that have had conversations with about this, truly do respect Afro/black hair or any cultural headdress/customs by NOT WEARING/PRACTICING IT THEMSELVES. Though, I've realized a while ago, they truly have a desire to make everything about themselves. Their whyte male counterparts did a pretty decent job putting a glamour on their beauty, so we can be conditioned to perceive them as a standard, but they never truly were and without their patriarchy (that they want to tear down so much), they know this. Even prior to slavery, WW had this personal issue when they realized whyte men desired black women when WW were finally allowed to travel abroad with them. It's safe to say, this is part of their sociopathy. I would love there to be a video pertaining to this.
I love that they want to now have afros but the dumb thing would be is to not profit off of them. We are last to be acknowledged and the last to profit. Ya'll know you need to make them pay.
I think we should chill airing this, it gives the illusion that this is ok/we’re desperate for praise for other ppl liking/wanting our hair…bc once they make it a viral thing we’re still going to be condemned for it and they will not. Also they’re def mimicking 3c/4a fros, not 4c ones. We see this with the curl size they’re using to even get this perm. All love though…
Thanks for commenting and sharing your perspective 🤎and I addressed the fact that we as black women should not be looking for acceptance from other people to embrace our natural hair…also on this channel I highlight type 4 hair so if you believe it’s 4a it falls within the guidelines on my channel🤎
@@lonealotlately2546 might be a surprising fact, but a lot of east asians *already* have curly hair. especially in japan and Korea, where the jomon people who were direct ancestors of polynesian travellers settled. they just straighten their hair and make the best technology for it because they believe in dominant culture and homogeniousness of looking the same. you'll rarely see an asian person get a perm, but an asian woman? super rare when she could just stop straightening and grow her 3a/b hair out. its just bad fetishization and masculinization of 4c hair repackaged in a separate culture. that's why we shouldn't praise this.

That's because you're looking at the glass as half empty. Black people have a lot of low self esteem. So we see everything as a strike against us instead of something that could possibly benefit us.
You do realize those people that own hair stores are Korean and Chinese. The people that are wearing the Afros are Japanese. Different type of Asians and cultures. You have to be specific with which Asians you are speaking on

There is a history that goes with blacks being discriminated against for their physical attributes, skin color, lips, nose, and hair etc. The context has always been contrasting black beauty with white beauty with black beauty standards usually being abhorred while white being the standard of beauty. With the advent of the internet we see a positive shift as global markets becoming more connected people who do not as a matter of course share the same traditional archetype of thinking of those in the European nations; we see members of those other societies having a fondness for segments of other cultures, black being one of them. The beauty about culture is that everyone can learn and borrow elements from each other respectfully. The Greeks borrowed and learned from the Egyptians etc. We must not resign ourselves to exclusivity as a race because we miss fantastic opportunities for growth and empowerment. If we know anything about the past we know there was a time in history where China had invented several things but then they nation had period of famine and saw no growth domestically. They we closed off to the rest of the world, then a fairly young nation such as the USA was able to gain traction and bypass them in certain areas of innovation because they open themselves to immigration and cultural exchanges. My point is for as much as what some Asians are doing may appear as culture appropriation, it is a practice that has gone on for long time and made the world what it is today. For example I see there is a overwhelming amount black Americans that enjoy Chinese food, I have often thought it would be great of more black Americans would learn the making of the cuisine and open a Chinese take away shop. Anyhow this is a just a simple example but you get the point. If there are white members of society whom have an opposition to some Asians whom have a fondness for black hairstyles and textures they simply do not understand that times are changing and old prejudicial paradigms are being replaced with proper new ways of thinking and there is no reason to feel personally alarmed. Cheers
Totally agree with you, natural 4b and 4c fros were popular to wear in the 70’s. We Black American women also wore our hair straight by straightening with heat one week and wearing our fros weeks later. And later in the 1980’s most female Black Americans were relaxing their hair and wearing it blow dried straight or straightened and wearing soft curls. We also used curly perms aka Jeri Curls to give our hair a 3c look l. We also wear straight wigs, corn rows, braids, straight weaves, Bantu knots so why if we can wear anything we choose to wear to frame our beautiful faces why can’t other races of women. Please sisters get a grip and be secure enough in who we are to not be so insecure and sensitive about anyone copying our natural beauty. We have known we are fashion icons for a while now don’t be so nervous they can’t take it away. Consider it flattering don’t you think? Many blessings to my beautiful sisters of all shades, heights and sizes, Love Ya!!
There are documentaries from over 10-15 years ago of Japanese people embracing black culture… and they felt genuine in that…. They also have no problem with US embracing THEIR culture. They usually love it.
I'm from the Bronx and that is definitely a topic that at least Puerto Ricans and Dominicans talk about. Either about not looking too Black etc., or the opposite, about them running away from their Blackness. They have the same colorism/texturism/featurism issues that we have but their voice is not as big as ours. At least not in US media. Even though PR are American their voice on this issue is still not as big as ours.
When are WW not mad about something when it promotes anything/anyone other than them and their plight? My ex-husband is Korean and that man was obsessed with my curly fro, hated when I wore wigs or weaves. He learned how to grease my scalp and everything- it was cute. He thought my hair would be hard and rough and was surprised it was so soft and fluffy. I hated how he would pat and "pet" it was weird. What I'd really like to know is if this process damages Asian type hair. The have the hardest hair type to curl, so does this break their hair off? Regardless, it's just another fad for them, it'll fade away in time.
I have worn cheongsams before and asians do not like that lol at least the Americanized ones.. ones who haven't been degraded or made fun of for wearing their traditional cultural clothing or styles like we (black people) have. The ones who only experience their own culture all the time love it though.. you get the trend?

Can't we just accept that others are embracing our culture, even if we have been discriminated against. With other nationality embracing it, it puts our hair even more in the limelight. Why do we always have to be offended? I am black and I am not offended, people will always have something to say when they do not understand, now they are understanding because there are more videos out there explaining our hair and how it works.

The Air Force is still discriminating against black hair even after they allowed women to wear locs etc. We just had a reg change in march 2024 that came with hairstyles to show what was authorized vs not. Let’s just say blk folks were not at the table when they made these decisions.
4C hair is the original hair of all human beings before all the mutations that generated different races happened. And Africans have all the features that make all races. So, yes, everyone looks good in 4C hair. On the contrary, not everyone looks good with straight hair.
Here's when research is required African communities, including the Siddis, Kaffirs, and Sheedis, have lived in South Asia for centuries. In Soul Korea you see alot of Asians rocking 4c hair Now there are a lot of hurry up and buy Asians that live here in the U.S. who abopt the negative thinking of blacks from the racist people who live right here. There are blacks/Africans in every culture accept Anglo-Saxon if other cultures rock 4c hair what a way to normalie it. it is our job to publish where the looks come from keep the history books, videos, blogs, documentaties, full of black culture so when they rock 4c hair styles it won't be insulting but paying homage to the dopest culture on the planet
Personally, I think it's part of a business move. Now that BW prefer natural hair styles, they now want to grow and create the hair texture and profit of what's currently popular.
Uh, I don’t think so. Why would one care about what another group of people do with their hair? They would have to be incredibly bored. Stop trying to come up with problems that don’t really exist. Except in someone’s weird mindset. 😮

A lot of asians actually have afro hair naturally. They just relax it. Not Allll. But a lot. They have been doing the big chop and growing their hair out naturally. Some relax to make their hair fall differently and some relax to straighten their hair.

Very true. Just like there were indigenous black colored people in Northern Africa through Egypt, Sudan, Israel, Iran to the rest of the Middle East. Obviously there are only a small remnant of these people left. But GENUINE BLACK colored people have many similar features from very deep brown (almost black) skin, thin and "full" lips, coarse hair, "straight" or "good" hair, wide or "white" noses (aquiline [eagle] noses) throughout Africa and other parts of the world. But these Asians are not copying their Indigenous people. They are clearly copying African hair (hair of people of direct African origin). Look at the braided hairstyles they wear after the perms. Those are African hairstyles. Black Asians normally just wear their hair open.

Oh wow! I didn’t know that!
The famous painter, Bob Ross did too!!
I was in Tokyo and Sapporo in 1975, I saw this first hand.

I’m flattered🥰 I like the idea of being worshipped 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️.
So would you agree that is wrong for Afro-American women to wear hair that does not represent them?
But you get forced to be Europeanised. Surely it is going to be beneficial if many ethnicities want to look like an Afro-ethnic woman.
I agree with you 100%. I don’t need any other race to validate my hair and features.
I was at work and a white woman practically stood in front of me, taking her hair out of a ponytail and swinging her hair. I laughed so hard because she doesn’t know I’m part of the coffee cuties.!!

It’s remarkable that her words can still ring so true even now❣️
I've never heard of this woman. I'm interested to learn more!
I learned about her in a documentary the BBC released for black history month last year in the UK, sadly it’s not on you tube but this is a great discussion about her based on her biography:

It's envy and jealousy, because admiration doesn't come w/hate and active accounts of intentional sabotage. There may be some that admire, but many of them fall into envy and jealousy.

There are Hispanic men and women with beautiful kinky hair not much is said about not wearing their natural hair.
I'm from the Bronx and that is definitely a topic that at least Puerto Ricans and Dominicans talk about. maybe asians should adopt black beauty standards. A lot of of us have wide noses, we should accept that instead of getting surgeries to make it slimmer and longer.
I have no issue with them adapting black beauty standards as long as they pay tribute to the original and don’t mock us then rock our style 🤎
Africa was once known as East Asia, so black indigenous people pretty much the whole planet.
How can Africa be in the East of Asia?
Why don't they just slap on the fake tan and go the whole hog?!
Just from the voice over I know who this girl is. She is the girl that went viral on TikTok over not knowing how to manage her 4c hair
I’ve never went viral on TikTok so you’re incorrect but if you’re interested in knowing who I am please sign up for my membership channel because I will be doing on camera content over there🤎
tribute? no they need to thank Father for creating a brother or sister they could copy and expand on their current beauty standards, all ways thank the source rather then man
Uhhh no good I’m thanks! 😶
Its their hair, they can where it as they choose
More serious thing goin on in this world
Thanks for commenting 🤎
I’m confused by this comment. This is a clearly a page about natural tight coiled hair. Why are you here and not on a page that has better things to talk about? All of the content on UA-cam…billions of videos on “better things” but you choose to get on a black hair page to say this. 😗
BLOND HAIR CAME FROM AFRICA, RED HAIR too...Research!!!
All human features come from Africa. The continent with the greatest genetic diversity.
Right meaning black women can rock blind hair or an type of hair
@@rosam674 They don't wanna know...smh
If you require persuasion to embrace a fundamental trait you possess inherently, you should consider seeking advice from a medical professional for neurological assessment.
I agree! I’m definitely an advocate for therapy if you are struggling with embracing your natural hair 🤎
Kendrick Lamar said it best, one time for the old and the new.
Some of this stuff you gotta laugh at?
A lot of asians actually have afro hair naturally. They just relax it. Not Allll. But a lot. They have been doing the big chop and growing their hair out naturally.
Some relax to make their hair fall differently and some relax to straighten their hair.
Are got referring the the black/indigenous Asians? :) because not even a minuscule amount of pale/white asians have Afros naturally
@@reformedgirlblogger No I was actually referring to the ones with pale skin. Look them up.
I also know about the black Asians in India as well as other parts of Asia . But no I was not speaking on them.
They could be in relation and also have a recessive trait amongst the few. But as far as they knew in their own knowledge, they were only asian in lineage.
Black women was forced to cover their hair bc white women were jealous of they way we styled it. And black women were basically forced to straighten our hair to work bc a lot of employers discriminate against black hair and call it unprofessional.
💯 🤎🤎🤎🤎thanks for watching
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol 😂 thanks for watching 🤎
Honestly, it's no big deal. I almost never see black American women with an Afro.
What law made black people were straight hair and blonde hair!
Laws were in place that prevent black women from wearing their natural hair and when we did we were faced with hair discrimination…some laws that prevented black women from wearing their natural hair includes the tigon law and the law that was put in place by the military both of which I highlighted in the video. As a result black women were forced to assimilate into a European beauty standard which as we know is blond hair and blue eyes and straight hair and failing to do so resulted in things such as loss of employment etc…look up the crown act to understand further🤎
IT'S NOT A TREND WITH ASIANS WEARING THIER HAIR LIKE THAT, THEY'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS OR SOME OF THEM REALLY DO HAVE HAIR LIKE THAT.
That's like white people thinking their hair is like ours because their hair is curly 😂
Asians naturally do not have wooly hair wtf are you smoking 😂😂😂😂 They may have been doing this for years bit they’re hair definitely isn’t naturally wooly
We all know damn well Asians do not have wooly hair
All I’m going to say. There are indigenous black Asians. That live all over Asia. My friend who’s family are from the Philippines talk about blk Asian. They are the hidden faces. Also Asian have different ethnicities, races of people. So you can’t put them all the same.
The BLACK race has the most diverse dna. There isn't a birth record for BLACK people.
Thanks for commenting and I’m aware there are black Asians with coily hair but this video was not referring to them…however I definitely feel like they should receive proper representation as well🤎
@@CoffeeCuties777 For sure!
Well.. where are those asians?😂
But these Asians are not copying their Indigenous people. They are clearly copying African hair (hair of people of direct African origin). Look at the braided hairstyles they wear after the perms. Those are African hairstyles. Black Asians normally just wear their hair open.
