I find it quite charming to say the least and will say I'll definitely give it a try if I have an hour or two to kill. And I'm sure min-maxing comes into play at higher difficulty levels I look forward to seeing if they update anything before release but it does seem worth it.
Recently checking out Brotato because of DF. Don't know if it's your style of Rougelite. Would be interesting to see you cover the demo. It's a basic survival wave game ala vampire survivors. But much more binding of Isaac graphics and without as complex a build system. More based on random chance and what you can get from the shop. Don't know when it comes out but the demo is still fun.
Btw I just installed the demo and there seems to be a lot less content, I think you must have had a beta full version, because I can only do the level 1 scenario and nothing else.

This game is awesome I just ran through the demo thanks for showing us this. So your aware, the extra grassland that was underwhelming, if you explore on that tile you can find unique locations that have special effects, it's neat.

A few tips, if you care: Use your resources, if you have 50 food don't be afraid to reroll. If you have stone/wood use the tools aggressively. You can demolish buildings to free space. The farm gets obsolete when you get better food sources, the barracks after you trained the soldiers, etc.
just downloaded the demo but wierdly all the other factions and draft/custom are grayed out even after i beat the first run. i also did prosperity but i was a bit less prepared. i started my golden age at like turn 15 or something and things got a little.. dicey.
Based on this video, I bought the game, I knew I would like it!... It's clever and entertaining. I usually play with my own library of music and the experience is Great!!! :) Cheers!!!
I made a horde of doctors and had a 100k+ fish farm to feed my +5 food per dice (the first aid: 1 food set dice to 5 was amazing). I feel like having doctors to solve any plagues and being a great food source is kinda broken. Looking for more strats still!
Note: This was in fact, the full game. The demo is still quite generous and worth playing, but the full game is out on the 15th.

A few tips, if you care:
Use your resources, if you have 50 food don't be afraid to reroll. If you have stone/wood use the tools aggressively.
You can demolish buildings to free space. The farm gets obsolete when you get better food sources, the barracks after you trained the soldiers, etc.
Or get a fish pond and build the population for a few turns than make everyone a doctor and never have to worry about food or illness ever again!
Would love for you to revisit card survival tropical island sometime, they have had constant updates! Looks exciting

If you do ever play again, it looks like you can leave/abandon an explore tile (such as the abandoned tools) by using dice
