Thank you for encouraging resellers to be nice. I lost both of my grandparents this winter, within a month of each other. My mom and her sisters just their estate sale; it is very difficult to watch memories walk away. When it comes to negotiations, I handle them differently depending on the purpose of the sale. Love people, people!

My daughter is a hospice nurse and makes sure to introduce herself and says she likes to take the memory of that person to her home so that whatever she buys is respected and has their memory. It's amazing how many people find that comfort when selling something they were not ready too

I’ve had a portable key cutting machine since 1974. The way I obtained it was to take a locksmithing class from home. I will keep mine and I do use it occasionally. I bought my first full size key machine about eight years ago from another locksmith. He had bought it from someone who needs the funds. I would never sell mine . I cut only two different types of keys and I have a huge supply of blanks . A student who wants to be a locksmith would like your vintage key machine. It is probably over fifty years old.

Funny about the key cutting machine. They are not illegal to own or sell, but certain places refuse to allow them. There are far worse things being sold such as lock picks and bump keys. I would offer you something for the key cutting machine, but I already have too much junk as my wife would call it in my collection. Oh ILCO is Independent Lock Company.

If you are a car-dealer you can probably get a license or bond in your state, and then buy a machine from a distributor/manufacturer of such machines. It does take an amount of skill and other specialty/expensive tools, up to programming computers for modern chip keys, plus high insurance and possibly an indemnity bond(varies by state/jurisdiction), to do such/ be a locksmith today,. Which is why locksmiths charge what they do(especially if a lock or ignition, is missing its key.), beside the "on-call, quick, mobile service, most provide.
In your case, a car dealer, I think you might be able work out a deal with a good locksmith, to do all your keys, and get a cheaper "no rush" rate, rather than their usual on call service fees.

  • @chrisperrien7055
    @chrisperrien7055 7 місяців тому

Some states have laws against the possession, sale or transfer of "burglary tools" except by licensed/bonded individuals/entities (i.e - locksmiths, hardware stores, car dealerships, etc.) . Key machines fall into this area of being "burglary tools". E-Bay forbids them since they do business in these states and other countries that have such laws, to avoid liability and possible accessory charges/lawsuits.
To go further, there federal laws against making copies of keys to federal installations, buildings and property, (mail-box keys being biggest example) which could be an even worse legal head-ache. example- What if "terrorists" used a key-machine bought off E-bay to do some "terrorist" stuff?
I can see E-bay's POV and necessary legal position on this issue.

eBay isn’t the only place to sell if you know the business well enough. That vintage key cutter is easily $200 and you can sell it anywhere but eBay. eBay outlaws more stuff than any other platform and it’s all at their discretion so they don’t need a valid reason. Or a sensible one at that.
I have a locksmith materials permit, medical equipment license and a art dealer’s certification. Cost less than $250 to get all those and don’t need ebay to make money off of them.

Many of these folks are into collecting various stuff related to the history of keys, security, Locksmith profession, etc. You post on....."The Locking Picking Lawyer" or "BosnianBill" UA-cam channel and related websites, and inquire. You could be looking at substantial money for the above, depending on what it is and its providence, given the right buyer. I know time is money, so I tried to provide you with the most straightforward way to post it somewhere. GL.

Recent subscriber - I need to ask how you are able to ship the Porter Cable Plate Joiner for only $9.95? I steer clear of trying to sell heavy items like that because they are so heavy, the shipping becomes outrageous. May I ask what shipping service (USPS, FedEx, UPS) and what method do you ship with (Ground, Flat Rate, etc)? Enjoying your channel!

That Key grinder is awesome. I hate keys, so my key chain for the car is just that key.
There is a key chain fir the Post office key, and a keychain for everything else.
I have always wanted to have all my master locks keyed for the same key, and have all my door locks keyed fir the same key.
So i automatically thought, if i had this key cutter. Lol
Then I decided well Costco runs deals on multiple locks, and door lock sets.
    I'll just do that.
    Hey nice finds!

Oh man, GS cookies are awesome! Samoas, PB Sandwich, and my kids favs - Thin Mints! I cannot even eat them anymore due to Celiacs, but I easily could've finished a box in a night, but I would also get a stomachache! Ugh! ) : Almost worth it, though! Lol! ( :
You guys made out like a bandit at the first shown tag sale with all the tools! Wowee; ( : You guys did fantastic! ( : What is a seed grinder! I love the older woman who gave Kayla all the bike products,, Happy Birthday! 😊 She was adorable! ( :
Those AE men's shoes were a downright bargain! Holy moly! ( : Wow! The AE stretchers will cover the cost?!! Nice! ( :😅

Why would a key cutting machine be band? Every hardware store in the country has one, don’t make since.
