Thanks for the encouragement like I say I've been in business for years with my company Lone star vinyl fence I usually try to post videos on UA-cam but I've been so busy that I'm ready to sell the company and just move on is it better to get a CDL through prime or just get a private class CDL?
I'm in California they send applicants to Utah if I can stay in California would be wayyyyyyy better
Make sure to fill out your paperwork before class the first morning it will save you time. Make sure to bring your permit, license, birth certificate or passport other documents. Also make sure to bring both short form and long form of your medical card

Submitted my application and talked to a recruiter. He submitted it for processing and said I should be getting a call back from him in a day or two. I hope everything check out! My work history is perfect and no problems with my regular drivers license. I have my permit as well but my background has a couple misdemeanors but they are more than 3 years old

Shout out to the grey hound terminal. Sounds pretty accurate. After you get done with the week and dont get sent home, you get an instructor assigned and go though the psd phase to get CDL.

I spoke with a recruiter yesterday, 5/22/23, and there’s a waiting list for classes at the Utah facility. They won’t have openings until July. I should have just gone in March when they were calling me every week…🤬!

If you come in with your CDL and two years experience already, do you still have to do the simulator class and what type of training do they have you go through or is it just a drive test?
You will have to do the simulator thing. It depends on the experience. You need to talk with a recruiter.

If a person is driving for 35 year do you still have to start start from beginning? And do I have to use cpap machine even if I never used one before just asking for a friend
It depends if it's otr and if your not required to have a cpap then you won't have to use one
@TwiztedD Hey Twist! I just turned 22. Just started researching cdl’s and trucking. I’ve always loved trucks. I put Mary down for good. I just have one question. I’ve been seeing mixed info on drug testing. Do they drug test before orientation? or Do they do the first drug test @orientation? I’ve spoken to a recruiter already. I’m in the application stage still. I want to continue, BUT not at the risk of my future career ofc. With that being said, I wouldn’t start orientation until June 5th. I stopped in Apr. should I wait until I’m clean to continue the process? I know I’ll be good to go by June 5th. Just not to confident about before. Won’t risk it if there’s a chance they’ll have me test before. I’ll wait. Thanks for the response in advanced!

So im considering going to the Pittston, PA location. I should have my permit by Monday. My question how long exactly does it take to get my CDL with prime. And when TNT starts will i be returning to hotel or just basically living out of the truck until 50k miles? I need to know how to pack accordingly

I did see the comment where you said that you cannot have an animal unless it’s a service animal through while your at the campus in, I’m just curious how long you are at the inn for? I also would like to know if some trainers allow people to bring their dogs? And how long is that process? TYSM 😊
You would have to get approval to bring a pet. They want you to be focused on the training and a pet can be a distraction. From start to end of train can be like 4 to 5 months depending on hometime and stuff

Hey bro when filling out my app online and listing past employment I listed my time with one company and when pulling my W2 to take to orientation which I leave this Saturday I noticed when the company merged with our sister company it changed name and therefore gave me an additional W2.. I immediately notified Angela Gomez and she said I was absolutely fine and ro updat my app. I did that and she said all is good. Do you believe I'll be ok.

I'm 56 and considering it, my cousin said I can make 100k but everywhere I look it seem only 48-52k to start. Is this wrong?
@@SaltyReels Typically a new OTR driver without experience can expect to make $50-$60 yr.
Of course pay has a lot of variables. Some variables include the driver’s work ethic, capabilities, the trucking company he/she is working for and the freight lanes said company runs.
One year of safe driving will
Open a lot of more opportunities for a driver. Pay will typically go up substantially. It wouldn’t be hard for a driver with a clean record whom has one yr exp to earn 75K yr or more. Teaming will also increase a drivers revenue.
The best advice most experienced drivers give is to drive for the same carrier for at least one year, keeping a clean record and then you can pretty much write your own ticket. ( no pun intended.). Hope this helps.

Not saying prime is a bad company, but i showed up last week for orientation. Hotel is very run down, the cafe on sunday looked nasty as hell. Had a roomate even though we both have 5 yrs exp. The room itself was run down, thermostat was broken with heat stuck on, they gave my roomate another room but not me and the check in woman at the front talks to you like you're stupid. So i got a rental and went back home so i didnt waste anymore of my time.

On the second morning if you are already using CPAP machine bring it and you will be sent over to Cardinal Sleep to get your readings and setup to remote monitor your compliance. You can go back to room to get it if you need to.

I applied and prime isn’t hiring people without experience, they said they have no trainers to train anyone. What a waste of time.

All I can say is if u come from a different company with minimal experience, take it from me, see if u can do time with a trainer. Do not assume u know what ur doing, other companies did not teach me the correct way to do things. It’s hell if u don’t know how to use the equipment.

@@fearlessfly100 They told me 2 weeks ago they are NOT hiring trainees from my State. WA. Now WHY that matters when you are going to be OTR with a trainer for so long I have no clue. All good though. I'm getting HOOKED up with my Class-A right here in my home town at the College. And I qualified for like 3 GRANTS that cover all the tuition in FULL and NO...one of them is NOT a PELL grant. Seriously folks go check your local colleges and see what they have.
