I really liked this video. Seeing you two operating together was terrific. I wish it as a several part series as those train trips are long , but I absolutely loved it!! Thank you Chris & Brett ❤️😘!

Cute couple! Great train vlog. Would love to see a longer version. It's nice to see you guys enjoying rail travel, something so common in my part of the world.
My partner and I traveled on the Empire Builder train that you guys where on, but traveled in the opposite direction from Seattle to Chicago in May this year on our vacation from Australia. We had a bedroom compartment same as you guys. We showered in the shared bathrooms at the end of the carriage as they are a lot bigger. Had a great time as you get to see lots of the countryside rather than fly over it. Did other trains as well. Seems you guys enjoyed yourselves and your Vlog shows there are more ways to travel long distances other than planes or drive. Thanks again.
I so love to do that, I have a friend that lives in NY city and relatives in upstate NY. I've driven Cross country and back once with my brother when I was 19 to go to the Carlisle Chrysler auto show. It was fun, but I've never done it by train. I always thought it would be fun.
I think you guys are so cool. If I only could have been as lucky as Brett to find such a nice younger guy like you, and you to find such the great guy that he is. I like younger guys, but I was never lucky in meeting anyone. I’m older than Brett, and coming out when I was his age just wasn’t near as acceptable as it is now. Let alone you guys age difference. Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s great. But people years ago, had a completely different mindset. I am so jealous of you two. Looks like such a fun trip. Stay safe guys.
You're not the only one who's jealous...I'm a little jealous myself. I wish I would have been beautiful enough when I was his age to have found an older boyfriend, like his (back in the day). Sometimes life is so unfair. 💔💙🥺
That was a nice vlog, the things you guys get up to, know no bounds, nice to see you two having some fun together, something i always wanted to do, but never got round to.
Hope this vlog doesn't go off the rails! (Couldn't resist!) 🤣🤣 That was great. I guess a more complete demonstration of the shower was not prudent. The safety belts for the top bunk were a good feature. The food looked pretty good, especially the desserts. I'm sure that you made a lot of good memories on this trip. Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👍👍👍
Dear Chris this vlog is like a little Christmas gift for me. I am a trainspotter and it feels like travelling with you. Nice to see that you have top and bottoms beds 😊. I wish you and Bret a good Christmas and thanks for visiting Amsterdam during the Canal Pride. Hope that you come back next year. ❤ to and your friends from The Netherlands!
Wow! What an adventure to take the train from Chicago to LA. I've seen other vloggers post this trip before but I think yours is the most realistic. It looked kind of cramp or it may have been cozy. Only you can confirm. I see you were able to get into the lower bunk together. It would have been great to keep each other warm.😜 The observation car looked like a great place to hang out. The food looked good too. I hope the experience compensated for the value of the train over taking a plane. Thanks for posting the vlog.👍😊
Amtrak is an amazing way to travel if you have the time. It's a whole different atmosphere. Surprised you didn't go from Boston to Chicago on the Lake Shore Limited.
I’m not sure, but I think the scheduling is tight because of the risk of the train being late. You’d almost want to plan on doing that a day earlier, and spending a night in a Chicago hotel just to be safe.
@@garyf3470 I plan my Amtrak trains to spend a night at every station where I transfer to another train. While you might lose a day or two, all of these cities have enough to keep you busy that day, if only to feed the birds at the downtown city park. Surely you can find something to do that day in downtown Chicago. I never worry about making connections or having trains being delayed....
Oh my god, I did the same exact thing almost twenty five years ago when I was four. I went with my parents, my uncle, and his partner. That was fun. Whitefish was so cool to see as well. That’s awesome you guys got to do this!! 😊❤

I'm a boardmember of the High Speed Rail Alliance and we are trying to promote and encourage people to ditch their cars and try the train. Try Amtrak. Your video was a perfect demonstration of how much fun a train ride can be. Very cool.
My gosh! Halloween I had just gotten back from a horror writers convention in Kansas City. Spent the evening handing out treats with a friend. Oh and I wore my "Addams Family" t-shirt. :)
Lovely train journey. I did the same 20 years ago from Perth to Sydney 3 Days 3 nights. I enjoyed it very much ,.but traveld on my own . Your are such a nice couple.
Need to watch the older 1950s comedy film with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and JackLemmon. called Some Like it Hot. It has a few scenes on a cross counrtry sleeper train from Chicago to Southern California
While I enjoyed driving across America during the summer months, I found riding on a train across America with Amtrak more enjoyable, especially during the winter months not having to deal with icy and snowy roads. Doing both you actually do see America you don't when you fly above it usually over the clouds. I encourage those that do it non stop to do stop a few times along the routes and spend a night at a small town bed and breakfast near the small town railroad depots. Spend the day in the small town museums/shops, or spend the day if only at the local fishing hole, you will enjoy spending a day there. When I ride through these small towns I wish I could spend a day there, well, do... Doesn't matter which small town, any will do the trick...
It’s good to see Chris are you and your partner going across America as I’m here in England it’s nice to see all the different scenes of America out your window as well as Into Modle railway’s (railroad) It was very interesting to thank you for sharing it and also thank you for showing your normal life keep up the good work
Wow what a great experience.... I've always wanted to go from NY to San Francisco on a train .... Best wishes and Merry Christmas to you and Brett 🎄🎄👍👍🌈🌈🥰🥰❤️❤️
Taking the train allows you to actually see more of America, versus flying over and looking at clouds. That small settlement you passed with the farm house and the church at the 9:38 mark was beautiful. A part of America’s past that’s disappearing. You need to try the auto train next time. You arrive in Florida at 9 am with your car. It’s a great ride.
Very envious guys. One of the few things I haven't done that I want to do, a cross country rail trip. You guys make such a great couple and it's always fun to watch your adventures. Ummmm . . . more beefcake shots of Bret please! 😊
I’ve wanted to say this since subscribing to this channel, but kept putting off typing it: Chris, with his glasses on, _always_ reminds me of Milo Thatch from Disney’s “Atlantis.” 😄 No, it’s a compliment; I find Milo attractive.

A sleeper train would probably be fun. I’ve never done that. But I have rode across the country in the couch seats and that is pure hell. I mean pure total and complete unadulterated hell and I would never do that again 😂. Looks like you have a beautiful trip.
Thanks for the thirst traps! I did a round trip from Boston to LA in a big loop. ( I met a guy on the northern loop and because we were delayed I missed the train to Boston in Chicago so they gave me a room and that was magical to share.) Traveling by train was fun. !!!
Haven't watched TV in a week or so, but when I did, I binge watched the first season of American Born Chinese on Disney. No word on if there will be a second season.
Last year I took a similarly long train journey (including an overnight train) in Europe: from Frankfurt - Germany to Sicily - Italy. It was amazingly beautiful and exciting
The Empire Builder, looks like you had a very enjoyable experience. We rode the Amtrak Cardinal to get to Chicago to avoid the airlines completely. If you get the chance, take the California Zephyr to the SF Bay Area , stunningly beautiful scenery from Denver on through the mountains.

Chicago and Northwestern doesn't have anything to do with Amtrak
