I was always attracted to older men. My first b/f was 15 years older. I wasn’t out to anyone when we met and started going out. I couldn’t take the chance of passing him off as just a friend because of the age difference. Whenever he’d come by to pick me up, it was usually dark and I’d be out the door and in his car......... quickly. After about 10, 11 months, my folks confronted me and it ended up in a shouting match with them giving me 30 minutes to take what I wanted and leave. They also took away the car I had gotten as a gift the year before. My b/f picked me up at a fast food restaurant, my life was changed forever in less than an hour. He was understanding, at first, but after 2 attempts of living together, I left because he was lying to me. About 4 months later he called on my birthday. I was back at my parents, but they didn’t know we started seeing each other again. We saw each other every other week, but I still loved him. I was home alone on a Saturday, my folks had a boat and were staying at their yacht club for the weekend. The phone rang and it was my b/f’s brother. I had only met him a few times. He was sorry to catch me by surprise, but he called to say my b/f had died. He had been in the hospital a few weeks and was diagnosed with leukemia. I had been trying to contact him without luck. His brother said that he had gotten sick very quickly, and he didn’t want me to see him in such bad shape. I called my folks who raced home, my mother was trying to console me, but it was tough. I always wished they had met him. The day of his funeral, I got myself dressed and waited for a friend to pick me up. I saw him arrive from my bedroom window. I found my mother in the living room by herself crying. I never found out why. I kissed her and told her everything would be alright.
