It's definitely meant for leatherman fans who want more than a knife but not a full sized multi tool. If someone is already a victorinox fan they probably won't find this appealing. I carry a wave + daily for work and the t4 daily (well more than 50% of days as I do like to carry small slip joints only sometimes). It is bulky with the clip so I remove it and pocket carry it in the fall and winter. Come spring I put the clip back on and clip it in the back pocket of my shorts. While it is not heavy duty I have found it is very capable. Don't believe anyone who says the awl doesn't or can't work since it has a screwdriver for a tip. It easily made a new hole in my leather carhart belt and in cedar stakes for the garden. You didn't meantion the large flathead/package opener is also a mini pry tool. On a painting project last year i used it to remove staples and dig out old caulking during prep and to open the paint can each day. Just came across your channel and am looking forward to watching more. Your content and the commenters here seem alot more positive than other channels I have been watching.

The Leatherman T4 is for people like me who want to carry a separate pliers (e.g., Knipex Cobra) and a multi tool with a blade and screwdrivers. I have Victorinox SAKs but prefer the T4 due to the harder steel and locking implements. Thanks for the video.

Cheers Bob. I figured if locking was a priority, and you didn’t want a pliers, this Leatherman is for you 😊. How do you like it? Would you recommend it or do you find yourself using something else?

One of these stays in my right pocket everyday. I wear baggy clothes and there is plenty of space in there, and I have lots of things in them....and.......I also (for many-many years) wear a Surge within a Deadskin leather sheath on the left side of my belt. I just love to have whatever I may need [on me...always in the same place...always], everyone is different I guess, and as far back as I can remember, I just have many functional tools on me.....always. Great review by the way, be well.

Leatherman T4 and P4 are my favourite Leatherman ever. The T4 is great for EDC when I’m not on the farm property where the P4 pliers always come in handy fixing fencing wire, tightening plumbing fittings etc etc

I bought a T2 after debating if it would be worth it. So far am happy with it as it has the main tools I use the most. Love that the tools come up easily and they are locked when you use them. Keep it in my car but move to pocket when needed.

I carry this in my EDC J803 messenger bag. I’m firm on using locking/fixed blades only. The clip keeps the T4 from falling into my bag. One handed opening isn’t a priority for me. I guess this T4 is for me (:

Hi Marcus, thank you for your Videos! I always like them very much.
Have you ever tried a Victorinox Swisstool as Leatherman alternative? I cant use Leathermans here in Germany because of the one-handed knife so the Swisstool is my multitool of choice.

I am waiting for a T4 remodeled with more focus on the scissors. I need a reliable and sharp well made scissors like with victoronox but larger size. Working in emergency field requires me to bring a raptor, skeletool and a victorinox at the same time. I need one and done and t4 with a larger size victorinox caliber quality scissors can do the job.

  • @luisfelipeantoniomarchanth8711

I love Victorinox and I love Leatherman. If I need a pocket tool for one handed use and locking mecanism in every tool. The answer is easy for me. Depends your needs.

I definitely love this. I’m a shipper, and I have my surge with me and I don’t need to keep it on my hip so I keep it in my desk. This is great to always have for that box cuter and basic tools without the entire multi tool.

As someone who's got the Surge about just over 2 years ago, I love it a lot and find uses for it quite frequently, and can't believe that I never had a multitool to start with. I know people complain about the bulk, but for me I can't say that I've got a problem with it because I don't know the weight and bulk of other multitools 😂 anyways, I have a slight issue with the Leatherman bit changer and kit in the sense that they're not "far reaching" compared to the medium flat that comes with the surge, and since that part broke about a year ago, I've been having to get out a dedicated medium flat from my toolbox, which has become a bit of a problem, knowing that I used to have the ease of access in my pocket 🙈 despite the ease of access I had, the ergonomics of using the tools for screwdriving has been a bit cumbersome as they're off center, which from what I can see on this T4 is actually a plus for a change, so since I need to send in my Surge for repairs on that medium flat, this T4 might come in handy as a compliment to my Surge. Only time will tell, but after some consideration I've decided to bite the bullet and get it anyways, so yeah. Thanks for the review and opinions raised in the video though, I appreciate people's reviews of gear as it does give a different perspective and reasoning as to my own set of ideas and experiences with it. Keep it up

Greetings Marcus, great video. Just subscribed to your channel. I don't have the T4 but I do have the T2. It was a gift from my daughter because she knows I love Leatherman and it was in her budget plus she had an inscription put on it so I've been carrying it ever since. I'm a huge Victorinox fan too and have a nice little collection of those so I can say in comparison do I love the T2, no, I prefer a SAK for a pocket knife but do I hate it, no it is useful but I probably wouldn't have purchased it on my own. Do I use it, absolutely. Will I continue to carry it? Yes but would I recommend it?... probably but for the very same reasons you did the T4. Anyway just my 2 cents worth from a new subscriber. Look forward to more of your videos 😉

Thanks for watching John and really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Leatherman is a phenomenal company and I have something like 8 of their tools. So I’m definitely a big fan. Also, if my daughter inscribed my name onto a T2 I’d carry it every day too. 100%

@@MarcusCreates you're welcome. She had her brother's name inscribed in it. He passed away in 2020, he was 16. I also used to EDC a Surge but my mother - in -law gifted me with a Charge TTI with an inscription about him a few months back so I carry those daily. My only fear would be losing either but I'm pretty self conscious when I use them to make sure I don't,😉 anyway looking forward to seeing more videos 👍

I have a suspicion there is no back spring or detent to give some resistance when open so I think I will close very easy.
Might have to use a dremel to make a choil on the blade.

I just ordered one of these -- I like victorinox knives but none of the alox models offer a tool set I truly desire. It's either too little or too much. I refuse to use the models that aren't alox Because they just feel cheep. I have tried to carry larger tools and I just end up losing them. I use pliers so rarely that I've decided to just have dedicated pliers..

@@MarcusCreates The scissors are a bit lacking, they struggle with Paracord and some fabrics, a little oil helps. Blade is amazing, cuts super well, and the action on all of the tools feels just so freaking good. Overall I'm really impressed and don't regret my purchase.
