The "WILLY MORROW RUBBER COMB" ATTACHMENT IS WHAT YOU NEED for your blow dryer! He invented the Afro Pick! I had mind for years and its great. It clamps on with screws. I got mind from Amazon. I don't see it in the beauty supply stores where I am from. Your hair is "Goals." Just beautiful!!
Actually, titanium plates are very damaging to hair if used on a regular basis. The reason that they are so popular with in salons is that they get super hot FAST and straightens hair at a faster rate. This allows stylists to get through their clients quicker. It saves time. However, you don’t want to use titanium plates on a regular basis at home. They are not recommended for home usage. Ceramic plates are best for regular at-home usage because they give out even heat distribution throughout the hair. This minimizes damage. Titanium has a faster heat transfer to the hair (can reach higher heat really fast). Overtime, this can really damage your hair. I used the Babybliss flat iron for about four months last year. I was so impressed by how my hair looked after leaving the salon. I wanted that same result at home, so I asked the stylist what flat iron she used and she told me the Babybliss Nano Titanium 1 inch. I ordered it online. It worked great, but after about 2 months I noticed a difference in my hair, and it was not good. My hair looked, and felt, damaged from root to tip. I didn’t understand what was going on because I used heat protectant religiously and I followed the recommended heat level for my hair type that was stated in the usage manual for this particular flat iron. Note: ALWAYS read the recommended heat settings for your hair type from the product manual for any heat appliance you purchase for your hair. Don’t just guesstimate the temp and start using it! Lol. I see a lot of ladies doing this. Anyway, my hair was very dry, brittle and dull. It could not retain any moisture and had no sheen or luster. I tried everything under the sun to try to revive it. I even went to my doctor to get my thyroid checked because I heard that thyroid deficiency can cause these issues with your hair. My thyroid was fine. I was so frustrated and sad about my hair because it was always so healthy. I used to get so many compliments. I had to get most of it cut off. One day while combing out my hair and fighting away tears, honestly, I heard this little voice say, “It’s that d* flat iron. It’s the plates. Google it.” I did and learned that titanium is not good to use regularly at home. With that said, I took that flat iron and tossed it in the trash. I thought about giving it away or selling it on Poshmark, but I wouldn’t sell or give that thing away to my worst enemy. I don’t want anyone to experience what I went through. Now in 2020, with a lot of patience and trial and error in finding the right products to bring some sense of restoration to my hair, it is now getting back to the way it used to be. Ladies please Google ‘titanium vs. ceramic’ and learn about the pros and cons of each of these. You will see what I mean. Take care❤️
I have a similar personal experience and I figured it was the flat iron but now I know precisely, it’s because of the plates. TY so much for sharing your experience! I haven’t str8n my hair in 6 years because the damaged I did to my crown. I’m ready to try again 🤞🏽 def going for a ceramic iron
4G 😳 when she sprayed her hair with water it was curly like 4C,4B hair. Your hair is beautiful, all type 4 and every hair type is HEALTHY HAIR = GOOD HAIR 💖
A good tip for blow drying is to use the tension method first to stretch out the hair, then using the comb attachment to stretch & straighten out your hair more. Hope this helps!
My anxiety goes threw the roof watching how long she holds the iron at the root! Lol 😆 girl I’m so glad you didn’t burn your hair off. It used to take me 2 1/2 hours to straighten my hair then I just started different short cuts to statutes and now I just take 30-45minutes, I got thick Puerto Rican hair so it took me a long time to learn to do it myself lol your hair is GORGEOUS!!!
I’m Asian and to be honest I have to give props to you all for having the tolerance to go through all this just for your hair. If I was black I probably wouldn’t even bother with all this. 3 hours!!!!!!!!!!! I remember telling my coworker that it takes me 25 minutes to curl my hair (loose bouncy curls) and she said “forget it. I don’t have time for that” #respectforyougirls
I've always thought that Asian hair is nearly impossible to curl. I either read it someplace or heard it somewhere. Can't always believe what you hear, about anyone.
It’s a choice for black women to straighten our hair, but we don’t have to. We’re just versatile like that. We can have either super kinky/curly or super straight hair without chemicals. And that’s unique to us, we’re blessed.
I'm Afro-American, and it doesn't take this long to do my hair. I shampoo, condituon, put a styler on (wrap foam), and then twist it up. I sometimes put my conditioner on, then I go take a shower or read sometimes. When I'm done, i wash it out and twist it up in chunky twists. DONE! It takes 1 and a half to 2 hours. If I were to just shampoo, condition and twist it with styler, it would take less time. Plus, you have straight hair. We have curly hair. You handle curly hair differently from straight hair. You have to be extra careful or you will pull your hair out from the scalp! Not just African people, but all those who have wavy to curly hair. I love our hair! 😁
I also wrap a scarf or handkerchief around where the attachment meets the blow dryer and that helps with holding it, especially if oils in your hair make your hands a lil slippery.
If I desire to flat iron my hair I will do it in stages. Wash/deep condition/condition and I will let my hair air dry. The next day I will blow dry then straighten. If you are using a blow dryer with an attachment use smaller sections and make sure the hair is detangled that should reduce the amount of heat and time.
I have 4C hair and girl you know the struggle lol I've been doing my own hair for 5yrs and I love it. The also use a Titanium hair straightener because I bought mine at Sally's and the cashier said Titanium is best for our hair type. I'll be doing a silk press on my hair in a couple of days and I like your method

@@Thatonegirl989 her hair is very bouncy, very shiny, is very thick also at the ends, I see an actual curlpattern when she puts products in it, it straightens easily with a blowdrier, etc. I tried going natural several times and I kept going back to texlaxing because my hair was so tightly coiled even after 2 years in a natural state it looked like a TWA because of the tightness of the coils. I would need more than an hour to brush it through. No product would help in loosening the pattern a bit. I had tried diy products as well with no luck. I was thinking of cutting my hair since it’s dry as you said yours was and now I’m tempted to do this😩 gained yourself a new sub sis, your hair looks amazing 😘
Hi, I have 2 girl and they have mixed hair, mom is puerto Rican with bone str8 hair. They like it when dad blows out their hair. I've seen hundreds of videos to learn how to silk press, their hair. Honestly you video has helped me the most.
Wow 😍 I was thinking about going natural. I’ve relaxed my hair since I was a young kid and I wanna try something new but at the same time don’t wanna loose my straight hair 😭 but if my hair can turn out as wonderful as yours, I’m doing it 😁
@@SW33TSPARKL3 no 😂😂 I still relax my hair. But I’ve been stretching my relaxing period from 6 weeks to 8. And I also keep my hair in braids for at least 3 months. I just decided to learn how I should treat my relaxed hair properly. I’m still learning but I’m getting there
We have about the same length of hair, but my hair is a looser texture, more like 3c/4a. Also my hair is a little thicker, I love how you’re hair came out, it looks beautiful, I’m going to look into buying that iron, because all the ones I have still leave my hair looking frizzy.💀
Omg came here to support bc of how she was treated on the other channel only to find out I'm already subscribed! She's such a sweet, down to earth young woman. And I'm 34...I was guessing she was 23 max!!
Loved that video. Gonna try this method. Attempted to straighten my hair after 2 years & the curls don’t wanna let me be great. So hoping this method will work. Thanks sis.
Your hair is absolutely beautiful but it looked like there was a lot of smoke coming from your flat iron maybe only one pass or turn it down a little I just don't want you to burn your gorgeous hair.
A good way to stretch your hair would be to plait your hair into 6 or 7 plaits until its 75% or more dry, this way your hair will be really straight before blow drying.
For the people commenting about the smoke that’s why yu put a silk serum on your strands. It’s burning off product that she put on so her hair stays protected. As long as you’re not puttin oil on your hair then straitening you’re good 🙂
oooh I was already hyped before watching this video! I've been trying to get my hair silk pressed, its been like 3 years and hair salons in my area are pretty expensive. I haven't seen anything less than 50 dollars and with my thick ole hair they are going to charge me like 80!! Besides I'm pretty fearful since I haven't had anybody else other than me do my hair, so I hope with your technique I will never have to think of visiting a salon again!(unless I really have to cause baaaby this hair be putting me through a whole arm workout)
@@vee3133 I first spritz a liquid mixture of aloe vera juice water and leave in conditioner, followed by a a cream (I just started using tgin hair milk) then seal with an oil.

Love this video . Thanks for posting you just made me more confident ,someone close to me Told me I needed to perm my hair . They said they were just playing but they weren’t . Thanks for this motivation. You have BEAUTIFUL HAIR BY THE WAY ❤️
I know I’m over a year late but I’m gonna follow this to the T lmao your hair looks so much like mine but longer and I’m so inspired . For years I’ve been afraid of heat damage but this tutorial has given me so much hope and confidence. Your hair came out beautifully 🌸 thank you so much. I’m subscribing.
How did it go? Did it come out bomb?!
I was thinking of cutting my hair since it’s dry as you said yours was and now I’m tempted to do this😩
gained yourself a new sub sis, your hair looks amazing 😘
Your hair grows so fast
Thank you sister these stylists these days do not properly care for our natural hair I’m learning on my own
The shrinkage is real😭😂
I’ve been following your hair journey since last year and your hair has FLOURISHED!
Great instructions on doing a silk press at home! And thank you for showing us super affordable / easy to find products! 😊
Hi, I have 2 girl and they have mixed hair, mom is puerto Rican with bone str8 hair. They like it when dad blows out their hair. I've seen hundreds of videos to learn how to silk press, their hair. Honestly you video has helped me the most.
I was complaining that I have 4D hair, now,I see someone with 4G hair
I am rolling on the floor 😂🤣😂👌❤
I’m a newbie with natural hair. I also have 4b hair. I’m seeking products to get my hair like yours. Thanks for the tips
Amor Antasia is both brave and talented. She gets so close to the scalp with that hot flat iron!
Wow 😍 I was thinking about going natural. I’ve relaxed my hair since I was a young kid and I wanna try something new but at the same time don’t wanna loose my straight hair 😭 but if my hair can turn out as wonderful as yours, I’m doing it 😁
i know this is 2yrs later, but did you ever decide to go natural?
@@SW33TSPARKL3 no 😂😂 I still relax my hair. But I’ve been stretching my relaxing period from 6 weeks to 8. And I also keep my hair in braids for at least 3 months. I just decided to learn how I should treat my relaxed hair properly. I’m still learning but I’m getting there
Your hair got long so fast! I need your secrets.
I just posted that video! 🙌🏾
U could also use a scalp massager
We have about the same length of hair, but my hair is a looser texture, more like 3c/4a. Also my hair is a little thicker, I love how you’re hair came out, it looks beautiful, I’m going to look into buying that iron, because all the ones I have still leave my hair looking frizzy.💀
I typed in 3c/4a silk press and I saw 4G and I was like “hol up, what’s that? Lemme see this real quick”🤣
U gone damage to hair these flat irons work just like the pro flat irons u need 1 pass
Be careful with those types of irons. They do an amazing job but can damage your hair if not used properly
Ari D wym
@@kiyahboo7552 I saw her comment to keep the settings at 25 and not 30 because the high heat can cause really bad heat damage
Beautiful. But yeah, lol....bad idea sleeping with the plastic wrap. I did that once, woke up and my hair was a disaster😂😂
When your hairs so curly they gotta find a new type for it
Omg came here to support bc of how she was treated on the other channel only to find out I'm already subscribed! She's such a sweet, down to earth young woman. And I'm 34...I was guessing she was 23 max!!
Thank you!
Lol, it’s funny when she said where’s my hair.🤣🤣🤣
Loved that video. Gonna try this method. Attempted to straighten my hair after 2 years & the curls don’t wanna let me be great. So hoping this method will work. Thanks sis.
My compliments, you rock lady. I appreciate how much I just learned from watching you.
Yes, I'm hear for the slick, flattering flattening of coils as well! More black girl magic! 🧚🏾♀️🧚🏾♀️🧚🏾♀️
Your hair is absolutely beautiful but it looked like there was a lot of smoke coming from your flat iron maybe only one pass or turn it down a little I just don't want you to burn your gorgeous hair.
It wasn't the hair though, it was the product evaporating... The heat protectors.
I fell on the floor when she said "Is my hair still there" 😂😂😂
Yall kill me with this "4c" hair that is full of curl patterns... then we try it and our hair does not turn out the same
Debra Jones You can have 4C and still have a curl pattern ........
Debra Jones loo you can tell it’s 4c from looking at it.
Sevin Miles North its clearly 4b. 4c in water is a lot more coily and doesnt define that easily
..Because not every person's hair, products/ techniques/results are exactly the same??? 😮
sofia yup, her hair looks more like a 4b girl pattern. Ppl just say whatever these days. Smh
A good way to stretch your hair would be to plait your hair into 6 or 7 plaits until its 75% or more dry, this way your hair will be really straight before blow drying.
The issue i have is trying to keep my natural hair straight while takin a shower. I be using like 3 bonnets and a t shirt!
Lol! I wrap it and then put a scarf on and a satin bonnet
Wrap it with Bobby pins and use 2 shower caps
4gxyz type. Aka Kunta kente . LOVE IT!
About to go grab this flat iron right now!!!
It’s legit!! Be careful though I used 25 setting because 30 may cause damage
@@Amorantasia1 I'm confused it doesn't let you know what number you have it on. How can you tell?
shakiki25 yes it has the number but not the degree so I assume that 30 is 450 F and 25 is like 400
When she said "is my hair there" I almost lost it lol this vid gave me life 👏🏾
For the people commenting about the smoke that’s why yu put a silk serum on your strands. It’s burning off product that she put on so her hair stays protected. As long as you’re not puttin oil on your hair then straitening you’re good 🙂
omg the thin THIN sections are everything LOVE IT!!! YASSS!🔥
Girlfriend you have so much patience. I couldn’t do this myself. Excellent job!
Love this!!!!!! Your hair has grown so well!!! 🧡🧡
thank you!
Thank you for sharing this. I'm 4G too. I hope you don't use keritan every time as it causes cancer...please be safe. Beautiful work and results.
4G hair😂😅🤣 lol.. your hair is beautiful and thick😍😍 you don’t need clip-ins
Right I love the density of her hair
3c 4a hair type thank you. now i know where I am going wrong with straightening my hair. blow drying and size sections. subscribed!
Yay welcome!!
Mizani is good for natural hair.been using it since 2010
Yesssssss!
girl YOURE SO PRETTY WTF-
man i just washed my hair 2 days ago after having it straight for like 3 weeks ! i wanna do it againnnn 😣😣😣
I legit Gorilla Glued my comb attachment to my blow dryer bc it keeps falling off
yee the glue is already dry. There’s no way it can end up on my hair
oooh I was already hyped before watching this video!
With how many degrees are you straightening your hair?
3years.... no reply (Lemme change that!)
I love the fact that you give different affordable products to use.
Can we get a natural hair wash day video plz. I have high porosity hair and struggle with keeping it moisturized
Do u layer on products?
@@vee3133 I first spritz a liquid mixture of aloe vera juice water and leave in conditioner, followed by a a cream (I just started using tgin hair milk) then seal with an oil.
@@ShesRelatable oh ok. I wonder why its a struggle
Micquetia Mitchell coming soon!
Wow her got super straight. Did her hair revert.
The natural texture of her hair is gorgeous.
Yes it reverted! I’m doing a curly routine and a 6 month update flat iron
Amor Antasia Okay good cause your natural texture is gorgeous.
Hunny That smoke scared the shit out of me hows ur hair now?? 🧐Love the video👍🏽👍🏽
