intheblues is the tube drive seem muddy to you
Damn good pedal for a budget pedal and I would definitely put it in my collection!!
I have the previous generation Donner Wah/Volume with the toggle switch on the side and I love it. The only thing I would want different would be if it would switch between Wah and Volume with the foot switch instead of bypass being activated..... And now they made this, take my money.
The opening jam was beautiful
That's the best mini wah I've heard yet. The end of the sweep can be a bit snarly. Easily remedied with a resistor and capacitor across the output. The Clapton mod on my old crybaby I got from Torres engineering in cali for 5 bucks.
Thanks, just got one in the mail today that I ordered off Amazon. Can't wait to play around with it tomorrow night!
10 seconds in and I’m sold on this pedal! Nice work!
I don't care what these crying guitar players say Donner pedals are great for the money I got the big metal today it rocks with metal and does blues well too with the Kokko time pedal witch is also freakin great
Sounds great and I love the idea of not having to lug my big, heavy Demon Wah around. My only question is durability, by appearance it looks a bit fragile but still on my "might purchase" list.
you didn't illustrate volume swells, which is one of the primary reasons to use a volume pedal?
He doesn't seem to know how to do volume swells. I'm in the market for one now, and Shane is almost the only guy that's reviewing these!
It doesnt swell much. I have one and it's more of an on/off
@@juliannar9376 then illustrate that. It’s a review correct?
@@ZillaYT ur welcome for even commenting and letting u know lmao
It appeared that the indicator lights changed color depending on whether off, in wah mode or volume mode. That’s a great feature although I’m a size 12 shoe and doubt I would see them LOL!
I'm a size 14 US, you'd be surprised, the green/volume is super bright
that opening was just awesome shane !!
Thanks Terry. :-)
Tube drive sounds really good. I'm waiting 4 my wah that will go on a smaller pedal board. Just hope it works with my guitar and amp. Thanks for vid.
What an amazing little pittle
Wow! What an intro!!!! Good job Shane!
saw the intro thumbnail and thought: Shane is going to demo a stapler?
hahaha :-)
And he made it sound great. Never had any doubts. Lol
Need a Milton lookalike to demo this
I bought one of these, and put it at the beginning of the signal chain on my pedal board. After it came an overdrive, distortion pedal, and a noise gate. The Donner Wah is EXTREMELY noisy when engaged in wah mode, even with the noise gate turned up aggressively. I would go so far as to call it nearly unusable.
@R D Yes. A noise gate has to come directly after the Donner Wah pedal.
@R D The Donner is rigid plastic. It will last if you take care of it and aren’t abusive to it. As far as quality of the sound itself, the Dunlop is going to win every time.
Great playing!
Another cool demo, Shane. I think I'll get one.
I've been playing for 1 year and half now, this is going to be my first wah pedal, do you think it's a good deal?
Great vid anyway, keep on rocking! \m/
Did you get it?
Great now I can make my own 80s porno music
Thanks a lot, man! You're doing really great job
Very useful pedal ! Mine gets a lot of work.
That little budget pedal actually sounds better than my big vox pedal, which sucks out a lot of tone from my TS. and tends to die out when I use neck pick ups on strat. Anyway, its on my to buy list for xmas. ;) cheers for the great demo, your guitar playing rocks.
I know you don't normally do really heavy stuff, but please could you review the Biyang Metal End/Metal End King? I have one and it's great at delivering a Peavey 5150 tone with the amp sim on and straight into a PA. I'd love to know what you think of it!
Great idea, they’re using their heads on this one!
Wtf bro you play too good ,wow
I don't know about that lol but thanks. :-)
Does it come with a power supply? Can you use a battery?
Great review, Shane!
This thing sounds sick!!
Great size for garden gnomes!
How did you like this compared to the similar HotOne Soul Press? Thanks!
Haven't tried this Donner but have the Hotone Soulpress and just wanted to give my 2 cents in case it could help. It's an ok wah sweap but I think a little harsch on the treble side of the wah spectrum, so I always use it with the neck pickup on the guitar. As a volume pedal you can set it to go from 0-100% or 50-100% by a wheel on the side next to the wah/vol switch. Small but robust. Cheers!
Did the wah feel sturdy enough? The tube drive sounded good with the strat..
Sounds great and love the small form factor, but Shane you spelled Donner wrong in the title?
I might have missed...Is the housing metal?
Super Cool! I hate lugging around heavy gear! Problem solved here.
Pretty cool little guy!
How does this compare to a CryBaby GCB-95? I need to buy one for the Sweet Child O Mine solo and I don't know if the CryBaby is worth the extra money
Nicolas Sarabia I’ve found Crybaby’s to not have the best sweep in the world. This pedal sounds good from Shane’s Demo. And you can’t go wrong with a Vox wah. That’s what I use these days.
Volume pedal into the power amp section of the Peavey - and you can drive the amp without shaking the floor.
Anyone using this and experiencing signal cut when using the pedal? In particular with double stops (like in Enter Sandman to give an example). Great pedal for the rest, just this issue though.
Ya can't beat a good Wah facial expression. I think we need to see you and Dr Ric have a facial expression face-off. That Donna Wah seems to have a good range. Have you tried any of the other brands mini Wah pedals?
I have tried a couple. I think Donner make some of the best budget effects out there though.
Hi Shane, Could you tell me about the materials, it this looks strong enough for treading it for a while? Thanks
Bro, and what about the donner wah cry 2 ? any difference?
Yaay green prs!! ♡
Since the pedal is volume and wah, where does it go in the pedal order?
Sounds good to me
is it good on high notes? i'd like to play solos with wahwah and my g1xon on high notes is not working, i'm talking about first string 12 frets and higher
Hi, great demo. I have this pedal but i have a slight problem in wah mode. When using wah i get a slight garbled sound like that of an old dialup modem, mixed with my guitar's sound. Its more audible when i use distortion or OD. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Will a noise gate help?
Did you have it set up with overdrive before or after the wah for the video?
Guitar -> Wah -> Overdrive -> Amplifier
This one doesn't seem to have true bypass, does it? Any noticeable effect to the overall sound of the setup due to this?
Sold
Shane! A non related question. Do you recommend a pavey bandit for home use? Have anothe suggestion for a home practice amp in that price range? Thanks!
No, they are too big. Try a Roland Blues Cube or Katana for home use. The bandit's are better for gigging.
Good review, do you that pedal iwould stand up to gigging on a regular basis
I'm not too sure. It feels good. It's not quite the same build quality as a Jim Dunlop but if you have it locked down on a board you should be fine. :-)
True bypass? Thank you! Brasil Rir🙋
Sold ! :-D
Nice, Blues On....
Nice playing......👍🤪
First observation - those LEDs are pointless because it looks like you can't see them anyway!
They are pretty bright. If you look at the pedal without your foot on it you can see them :-)
but only on a dark stage.....what about 12 o´clock on a sunny outdoorstage?
If they would put the leds on the sides or maybe at the heel; that would be great. Otherwise, you have to be in the dark with your foot off which is counterproductive. I did like mine until a lightning strike took it out a few months back. I have been looking for another but I would like better indicators.
Hi Shane,
What's the difference, regarding the sound and build quality, between this pedal and that other black one (caline/donner)?
Is it plastic?
can you power it with battery?
Sounds really great, but I need a full-size wah.
a nice swell possible?
A great buy 😬
Didn’t get how to engage the wah... is it switchless?
I got it... 😅
He said VOWEL!
You don't really demonstrate an active use of the volume
it sounds awful
