As a person who's only been watching you guys for a few months, I gotta say this one is GOOD. Everyone watching probably knows that Matt has such a upbeat positive attitude and is a guy people wanna be around. And for Tim, this is a bright and shining example that he is also that guy, I just personally haven't seen it as much. Tim in this video is so delicate, so careful, so concise and so methodical about something he's so passionate about and IT SHOWS. Fantastic video as usual, keep up the good work guys!
Thank God somebody finally put a decent video out on catching suspended fish. On my home lake from like September through winter alot of fish will school up and suspend 5 to 30 foot deep over 100 foot of water. That's tough fishing for me. Really tough. I've put requests on every fishing channel I follow and nobody has made this video but y'all.
I just finally got the fall transition happening on my fishery, water dropped to 58° and it snowed this morning lol I'm killing em on top water, swim baits and ned rigs so much smoke is coming out out my Cronarch MGL paired with Expride MH! So much fun! Haven't got into the fish like this since spring and I'll make snowmen on my boat b4 I give up on this bite! Thx again guys for all your awesome advice, it has changed my fishing life!
I would like to see you guys take some of the bigger lakes around you such as Lake Norman in NC and go over maps and how you break it down. As always great video. I watch them every M,W and F as I drink my morning coffee.
I caught a big bass yesterday casting a senko wacky rig deep...caught a big bass too...idk why i cast it away from shore something said just try .and i got one it was 3.5 lb
@@user-jj9hd5ke2e In Minnesota a lot of the guys here stoped fishing already and put their fishing gears and boat away. They instead go hunting now. You can still catch fish but with the cold wind constantly blowing, it wears you down. A 3lber smallmouth anywhere is a nice fish.
Another excellent and educational video. I have never bothered to pursue suspended Bass because it seemed to difficult, especially fishing from a small kayak. I can fish a weightless Senko to these suspended fish. The drop shot technique you described is so tactical. I never knew that the pendulum effect could be beneficial. It’s going to be a finesse weekend for me! Yes, the presentation you presented about using Google Earth a few weeks ago is excellent. My waypoints will become valuable as our major lake endures a continued drawdown. Thank you again.
The only thing Tim doesn’t mention is if your out on the main channel good luck keeping your boat on the fish unless you have a spot lock type trolling motor. The TVA can really roll a lot of current and with a regular trolling motor it’s damn near impossible to stay in one spot more than a few casts.
Suspended fish in my experience are difficult because they move and disperse over three dimensions diffusing their concentration absent a bait ball. I fish a deep and clear lake and offer two slight variations which have been successful for me. A Neiko rig speeds up the wacky process and allows you to move up and down through the concentrated area. Secondly a spy bait fished on light line and very slowly has produced big bass.
Awesome video as always but I'm still gonna say we need you guys to come to bass pro shop in the pyramid in Memphis for a seminar so we can see you in person and learn more from you...most informative videos there is for sure
The a rig is something that you can throw all day and go home absolutely wore out and catch nothing .I see alot of guys throwing that like zombies not thinking about what there doing .. If you look for schools of bait fish in deep water suspended in slow rule that thing over them you will catch fish but you have to be delivered that way good luck
Awesome video. I'm really curious where you're from before Clearlake. I see pictures of you at Collins and all of your references to our lakes up here is really helpful. I'm a YC Honker and really appreciate all of your help through the years.
Ha, well down here in Cumming Georgia, near lake Lanier, we have lots of trees down. Unfortunately we lost power Thursday morning at 5 AM, and the estimated time to get it turned back on is Sunday night! It is ridiculous. !! But can’t complain, we’re all safe and no trees on the house. God bless!
This is a great video! Always love your stuff. I live in Chico between Lake Oroville and Shasta so this info is GOLD for me right now. I was wondering, no one ever talks about the old school “T.D. Pencil” super slim spitting type baits anymore. Is there still a scenario for these type of baits? Thanks again Tim. Great stuff.
I fish in a tidal river: the Hudson River. Every day the fish move in and out with the tide. The river levels, ie the height of the high tide, fluctuate with the precipitation. The behaviors you describe resonate! Now I wonder, where do the fish in the Hudson go in the winter? Is it like a lowland reservoir? Thoughts?
Hey i noticed you guys dont have a whole lot out there on chatterbaits. Will you be doing an updated video any time soon? Curious mostly about your equipment set ups and bait trailers. Im looking for a dedicated jackhammer setup. Maybe an expride rod? Thanks guys.
Jealousy is a hell of a thing. Some people just can't stand successful people. On the bright side, i believe UA-cam counts thumb downs as activity for the video. If that's the case, those that thumb down a vid are actually helping the channels that they apparently despise.
Suggestions?? I fish a river that has a ton of boat traffic, max 10 ft deep, barely any under water grass or structure and silt. During warm months, I catch big smallies and LM fishing docks and limited rip-rap. As soon as it gets cold- poof- they’re gone. Would they still be suspended in water 6-10ft deep? Not sure how to find them????
THANKS TIM - GREAT INFO. What do you guys think about the Livingston baits? With the sound like a hydrowave. I don't think I've ever heard you talk about them. By the way - CA misses you guys.
Love you guys and all the information you're putting out I live in southwestern Idaho and our season so different are fishing is very different as well we don't have all the bait fish and shad I was wondering if you guys had any tips for those of us who are fishing reservoirs like the ones here in Idaho not sure what kind of bait they would be keying in on this time of year any info would be greatly appreciated
That's funny how you hesitated giving out secrets about the wacky rigged Plastic. The biggest bass step when into my live well on Chickamauga was with that technique In a Marina. You made Laugh a little bit. I know you want to be informative in teach , with that should everybody around here is very tight lipped
W bar reservoir is deep water , Chickamauga has both. With more shallow flats Then Bluffs And they draw the water down about 8' for Winter time in November and Philip backupRound April. Nickajack Is mostly shallower water And nickajack stays about the same level all year. Guntersville is Mostly shallow and stays the same level all year
Ok watts bar is high land, lots of deep water ,real good small mouth ,chickamauga, nickajack, Guntersville and so on would be low land ,also keep in mind they all have a good current that always plays a factor except pre spawn, spawn and post spawn
This is Matt but Tim's PBs are a 15 lb Largemouth, a 7 lb smallmouth, and a 10 lb Spotted Bass (the spot held the IGFA world record for a time). He's definitely caught some big ones!!

Tim, I followed the link from this year to this video last year. What advice do you have for South Florida pond fishermen?
