    #100percentwatchsquad woot woot! I heard what you did there at the end Hank, and I appreciate it! I don't have livescope or an equivalent on the Bass Buggy, but I do have down imaging and side imaging units that I'm getting better at learning how to read. For years I was thinking that I was doing best just dragging a football jig, but I realized that was probably because I always had one tied on when I was fishing deep. I still dokeep one tied on, but I've actually been working bigger squarebills, lipless cranks, and even swim jigs. I recently just caught a 6+ pounder on a 6th sense quake 70 in about 15ft of water by working it lower in the water column.

    • @BassGeek
      @BassGeek  2 роки тому +3

      Now I love a dang football jig but guys pass on those fish that are up in the water column because a lot of people on here tell them they ain't bass or ain't what you want. They are some of the biggest most of the time.

      @@BassGeek I notice those big gals like to suspend and just sort of patrol the area near whatever bit of structure they are relating to. Before I had electronics, I was always just dragging the bottom. It worked, but it could be a real grind. Now that I have the Garmin units on the old Bass Buggy, I've learned to come up off the bottom. I guess that's why most anglers like to fish shallow, because you can just see right there what's going on. In order to fish offshore, you really do need some electronics, especially when you're covering new water.

    I don’t have a boat or sonar and I don’t fish a lake with ledges, or boulder fields or points or humps(no structure). I fish a little 3 acre pond wi mucky bottom an the only cover are cat tails on the edge. Any advice for catching deeper, suspended Bass from bank in the heat of the Summer? We don’t all have boats and sonar. By the way, love your videos.

    Great stuff hank, and yeah if you pay attention, whether it's professional Anglers on TV. Or guys online. It seems half of the time if not more. when they're using the forward-facing sonar there catching suspended fish. That's just another one of those bass fishing myths. Which also would be a good topic for a video if you haven't done so already

    The lakes I fish are man made impoundments with the smallest being 80 acres and the largest being 208 acres with 3 more being acreages in between those 2. All are well stocked and even include some Florida strain bass. The deepest depths are around 28 feet. 1 lake, the largest allows full throttle water sports, while the other 4 are no wake 5mph fishing lakes. There are always current flow from the spillways into the lower lakes. I live on the last lake in line which constantly receives the overflow run off from all the other lakes which in turn flows out of my lake into a creek draining the subdivision.
    There is a lot of structure and cover throughout all of the lakes.
    I had an ankle replacement and haven’t had the chance to finish mapping the lakes with my striker 9sv(consol) and/or my Garmin striker 7sv(trolling motor).
    I can’t wait to get back out and finish so I can put some of what your videos suggest to the trial.
    Enjoy your videos very much.

    Hey Brother, I know that if you ask 10 guys their method of "Counting" down a bait, youll get 10 different answers. I count 1 Mississippi's until line goes slack.. 10 Mississippi is 10 feet... im curious of your idea? I love your content!! Thanks for always bringing the juice !

    • @BassGeek
      @BassGeek  2 роки тому +1

      Me and you are a lot Alike. If they are suspended I'll let out some line so if it's a 7ft rod Ill let 7ft out. Toss it with a little twirl and count 1 mississippis or 1 11000 it's about the same. That gives me a good Idea of the fall rate. The I always stop it just short of what I think it would be and work down each cast.
