Long Range Stubble Rabbits with the HW100K and Pard NV007V

- Have taken just under 100 rabbits from this wee field this summer and they are starting to get much harder to get close too - especially in the stubble! Shots taken off quad sticks from 34yds out to 57yds, couldn't do it without the range finder on the scope, makes it so easy to work out holdovers, slight breeze going right to left in most clips but not too much. First spotted Tod at 118yds and squeaked in to 24yds.

Wow. Really nice shooting. And that fox with a 177 👌
Excellent shooting for sub-12, what would you say is the idea distance for clean kills and maximum distance in yards under still conditions? The NV007V is not LRF, so what were you using to range? Also, 100 with rabbits form a relatively small area, do you think the rabbits learn that the faint pop of the HW100K, means danger or even they are picking up the lever pull sound and know it means death? You mentioned they were harder to stalk.
Anything out to 50yd is pretty straightforward in calm conditions, rabbits get harder to get close to once they’ve been shot over a few times, especially in areas with little or no human activity from day to day, they are very sensitive to any noise and even vibrations from your footsteps and of course your scent, the pellet strike itself is the loudest part of the shot with the HW100 so with any group of rabbits you get into range of always shoot the furthest away one first and often the others will run towards your position. The range finder I use is this one - www.fishingmegastore.com/range-finders/wulf-arrow-1200m-daynight-picatinny-oled-laser-rangefinder~56000.html
@@GAZ5570 Thats a good tip on shooting the furthest away rabbit first. I have a lot where I am, but I don't intend to shoot, unless I am going to eat. Head shoot the odd pheasant for the pot. Wolf LRF looks like a good idea, I guess it's not too awkward/heavy on the HW100 along side the Pard 007. Built in LRF unites are expensive for what they are. If something goes wrong with a unit, having the LRF separate, can keep equipment from going in the bin. many thanks.
0.177 cal. (4.5mm). It's feat. How far was the fox to get a headshot of 11.1ft/lbs (15 Joules)?
I stopped it at 24 yards, it’s a shot I have taken numerous times, rifle is zeroed at 20 yards.
Good shooting , is it a sub 12 rifle you are using.
Regards.
Terry.
Yes it is
What power is your rifle and what pellets?
I’m shooting QYS 9.56gr at 735fps so about 11.1ft/lbs
Good shooting that mate...what range finder are you using..?
This one here www.fishingmegastore.com/range-finders/elite-essentials-700m-oled-picatinny-laser-rangefinder~56000.html
Brilliant mate...Cheers for that
Does rhis have rhe ability to mount to a piccatiny rail?
Yes
How far can you shoot with it?
Longest shot in this video is 57yd, when there no wind anything out to 60 is pretty easy
Can you help me when I shutdown my pard still a little green light stay on?
Short press to sleep the unit and wake up, long press to turn off
@@GAZ5570 thanks so much I find it😅
Is it an 850 or 940 flashlight?
Just the onboard 850
@@GAZ5570 Do you like the nozzle on the sight?
@@dmitriybalakshin You mean the onboard IR? It’s all I’ve ever needed out to 200yds
@@GAZ5570 Which is the best F12mm lens. or F16mm.?
@@dmitriybalakshin Prefer 12mm for wider FOV
