yeah preference and relatability plays a huge part in who and why you put in the top whatever number you want. some people prefer less lyrical rappers to people who are 'real' and 'talk about the streets' or w/e. for me its a sliding scale. the less lyrical you are the more real and technical you need to be. the more lyrical you are, the less you can get away with being technical or 'street'. there are some artists who are right in the middle. but there are a few that some how exist at the extremes of both sides simultaneously. those are the ones who should be in the top 10, 20, or w/e.

Even if the group member had solo success, the grind is different. However I don't agree that sales define ones lyrical ability. Impact matters as well as success, but it should not be considered when ranking skills!
Yeah but Andre has still put out more work in all of his group albums than some very highly regarded lyricists did in their solo careers. Sometimes it's just because they were unfortunately cut short, but still, the quantity of verses you put out isn't really a factor imo.
Without question 3 Stax is one of the greatest lyricist to ever pick up a pen. As is Scarface, Crooked I, Posdnous and the GZA.
