I got this siren & the remote for Christmas last year, but after reading the H-D instructions I was a bit intimidated to dive into it. Your video made it so much easier. Thank You very much!
I did figure it out. Thanks. It was easy once I had a manual. The directions in the box keeps referring you to the service manual rather than showing some easy steps. So, I was pretty much forced to download a PDF ($8 on EBAY) unless I wanted to take it in and pay the dealership $250 to install it. I took photos of the steps but I think I may take the bike apart and post a video of how to put it in. After setting a password the bike starts but the dealership needs to marry the fobs to the HDSS.
Thanks for the video! Your instructions also worked for my 2012 Street Glide. Easiest thing I've installed on my scoot to date. The instructions were way off... to start it had me pull the right side cover rather than the left side where it's actually located. Then the diagrams were all wrong from there! I did not have to remove my seat BTW.
For anybody who wants to know on eBay there is a Harley-Davidson alarm for $25. But the pigtails are in different locations on a 2006 Softail Deluxe, the pigtail is right behind the rear plastic fender, and the holder is right next to it.
Inquired today at my local shop, where I bought my bike, 2013 Road King Anniversary Edition, came with an alarm (flashing lights) but no siren, anyway the parts guy told me it was a 2 hour install, so thanks for the video
I have a 13 road king classic. If I install this on the bike And have the steering and ignition locked but someone goes to move my bike would it still sounds the alarm?
One more question...I haven't installed the alarm yet. Will the alarm signal if someone were to hit the bike or does it have to actually be lifted or moved?
As you say the HD instructions do not work and send you to the wrong side of the bike. You video was not quite right for a 2014 Street Glide but pointed me in the right direction and al is now fitted and took just a few minutes. Thanking you, Pete
I can not find the security siren ll pigtail plug for my 2003 anniversary fat boy, could you please help some say it's under seat and some say in front of REAR tire after removing mud guard?
I have a 2008 Road King FLHR, with NO ALARM. Do I need the bike to have an alarm docking pre-installation, or this installed on the bike before install Security System Smart Siren 2 and how do I know? Thank you. Part 68200-07A
How long wil the alarm go off for? Say I've parked the bike for the night and im dead asleep and cant hear it. How long will that alarm go off for before it shuts off on it's own?
Great step by step on the install of the Smart Siren II. If you know, are you able to have the "Smart Siren II" and the HD "Smart Security System" on the same bike? Also, if you are not in line of sight, or if you are outside the suggested 1/2 mile, will the pager work? Wondering about being inside buildings or behind them, if you are within the 1/2 mile distance. Thanks, for the informative video and your time in answering my questions.
Have you installed an H-D Smart Security system? (Required before installation of the siren). If so, it would be great to have a tutorial on that. There isn't much out there by way of instruction. Thanks, Bike: 2009 Fat Boy
@@fatdmk168 Pretty much it. It plugs in to the blinker module right in front of the rear fender. I ran the antenna up and used velcro to attach it to the top of the frame behind the battery in a "velcro sammich". The rest is just following the programming instructions. It worked flawlessly but the fob still has to be married at the dealer unless you have the specific programming software to do it yourself. I have some good photos I can attach if you need.
my engine light cam on yesterday on 03 1o0yr. annv. dyna FXD and the security light the (key) and the speedo quit working and the milage odometer when blank but when I reved the motor at a stand still the speedo and odometer started to work..the bike ran fine but I brought her home bacuse was not sure what that was bout the bike ran fine just the speedo was throwing a fit any ideas on what it could be I was reading my service manual and I am thinking the speedo tranny sensor ? what ya think?
Thank you, very good video! after watching your video I purchased my Smart Siren 2 online from Harley, I hope the setting are easy after I install, I am not the original owner so I do not know the original security code for the alarm and I have yet to reset it to one of my own, hopefully that won't be needed to set up the siren 2.
I installed the additional alarm, all went well, It works great! Now to figure out if the remote pager will turn off the alarm from a distance so I don't have to walk to within 5 feet of the bike every time the alarm goes off!
So I'm looking at a security system for my bike after watching this video a thief could have that side cover off and main fuse pulled before the first chirp, throw the bike in a van, truck or trailer and be gone
So let's get this right. I walk up. Pop off a non secured panel. And yank a fuse. Viola just disabled your bike and security shit you just installed and roll your shit away?

I'm doing it myself thanks to your video. No more paying the shop all that $$$. Thanks a lot for the great video...
Aaron Swain Thanks for watching!

2 hours 😂😂 15 minutes max

What is the best way to disarm the siren when changing battery?

What was different for the Street Glide? Also after pulling the maxi fuse, did you lose all the settings for your boom audio system and nav?

Wow, the written instructions are way off base. Thank you for the video, it only took minutes to get this installed! You da man!
So I wouldn’t need to put a code after installing this ?
How long wil the alarm go off for? Say I've parked the bike for the night and im dead asleep and cant hear it. How long will that alarm go off for before it shuts off on it's own?
These security systems drain your battery faster.
there is no video on installing the fob system can you help please 2009 ultra classic

Thanks for the video!! It was very helpful with making up my mind with whether or not I wanted to purchase one...I did!! 👍👍
hello, is the same operation on a Sportster XL 883R from 2005 ?
thank you very much
hd security is double the cost in india....i want to install an after market security on my iron 883 can you make a video tutorial of that? thanks
I don't have an alarm on my 2010 ultra, I need to install one. Where does that go, under the right side cover?
Have you installed an H-D Smart Security system? (Required before installation of the siren). If so, it would be great to have a tutorial on that. There isn't much out there by way of instruction.

Did you do it?
@@fatdmk168 Yes I did. Of course I still had to take it in to the dealership to marry up the fob.
@@TawnyPorter Thanks for the answer! what modules are required? Only tssm with antenna?

Great video, question on FOB why are they so hard to press and two of you change pit battery in them do you have to reprogram them?

I believe your speed sensor on top of trans is filthy /broken Just went through it on my 2003 nighttrain
That's cool. How do you install alarm module and where is its original location?

Not sure what the ideal range is for the pager, but it should be more than 5 feet. Obstacles and weather can effect the performance.
My '12 Sportster 1200 Custom does not have a factory key fob security system. Is it required for this system? Thanx for the vid!
It is required for the Siren.
Thanx!
Great Video Going to put one on my Road King Thank you
How do you change from chirp to chirpless mode....07dyna streetbob
Fortunately I found your video before installing the siren. The MoCo really should consider updating the installation instructions. Thanks!
thanks. good vid. is there a chirpless mode ?
Just pick up my siren for my ultra but waiting for the service department to fix the rocker box oil leak
smallengineshop,
Thank you very much or the video. Will be installing this on my 2015 Street Glide.
+Aquil Yusuf Aswad Thanks for watching!
is this the same procedure for a 2006 fatboy
Thank you man! save me a lot of time, stress, headaches and all that mess. I should send you money to your payal account
Another nice video.
I installed my on my 2013 tri glide.i got my fob on me but the siren goes off and it want stop until I unplug any help with this please
So I'm looking at a security system for my bike after watching this video a thief could have that side cover off and main fuse pulled before the first chirp, throw the bike in a van, truck or trailer and be gone
HD Road Glide inside the siren itself is a rechargeable battery that will still activate the siren even if fuse or main battery is removed
So let's get this right. I walk up. Pop off a non secured panel. And yank a fuse. Viola just disabled your bike and security shit you just installed and roll your shit away?
