For those getting a certificate...you may have to work a full year before you can sit for the ARDMS board. For those who are apprehensive of going the ARRT route, just know that you have completed Prerequisite 5(don't quote me) for the ARDMS which qualifies to sit for the ARDMS SPI & specialty exams. So all I need to do is get my AART first then get the ARDMS afterwards I’m curious on how long it would take for me to get this all done since I really want to become a sonographer but need more clarification if I’m incorrect on this pathway

Hey Makayla, unfortunately there's no degree or program solely dedicated to pediatrics sonography. If you do find one it will most likely be a certificate program to build of what you already know. So, in order to be a pediatric sonographer, you'll have do General and then learn on the job and then become licensed. Good luck🎉 😊

I don’t think the type of bachelors degree you have matters when it comes to applying for the program. Your prerequisites may matter if you don’t have the correct credits for the program. It also depends on what program you apply to. I think you should be able to just get a certificate for ultrasound in a ultrasound program with your bachelors degree!

Hi love quick question , I am going to be getting my certificate to become a echo tech and I can sit for my CCI after finishing and I’ll be getting my RCS credential. Would I get paid the same as someone with an associate and bachelors? I do have my associates in science
I’m not in a program but I have applied, so I don’t know for sure, but from my research and what I think, I think those with degrees would make a little more and would have a much higher potential for pay increases because they will be able to get more qualifications down the road potentially. I do think you’d make the same as those with degrees in some places, just more limited options. Also their may be jobs who prefer or require degrees so the you’d be limited from opportunity, or you want make as much because you’d lack preferred qualifications, but a lot of the time, experience will replace required/preferred experience

@@seekgod1st291 okay my school is the same way. You can sit for your RVT if you get a certified VRT tech to sign off that they feel that you are competent to sit for that board. You have to have a certain number of vascular scans/experience scanning and the tech will sign off that they feel comfortable with you taking the test. You will study for it the same way you study for the abdomen exam. Cardiovascular is different. You may can shadow and learn from a cardiovascular tech because that’s very separate from general and vascular ultrasound. Then after they’ll sign off the same way like the VRT

I'm looking into the one that's put on by the arizona heart foundation. They have a new tucson program starting in August 2023. But it is full. This program is accerlated only 1 year. I also have a BA in Spanish... but don't use it professionally.

Most people have an associates or bachelors degree. If you don’t have a degree then you may take a certificate program that bridges you over with a associates degree upon graduating

With sonography- Physics isn’t really that much of math. At least to me. Mostly relationships. As long as u pass with a C you’ll be good

You definitely won’t need the full 7 hours. I took me around 1.5 hours to complete

This one is not online it's a classroom one...Monday thru Friday full time.
Pima medical institute has an ultrasound program and other programs as well there a few in tucson
