For about 2 years, the left turn signal was not totally out, maybe 15% of normal light, and flashes very fast, so I was too worried if I got pulled over by a cop. 2010 Hyundai Santa fe.
Was searching the Web again today and this video led me in the right direction.
I again switched right/left bulbs and sockets until I saw that the brass/copper piece on the left socket was 'IN' too much and probably was not making a connection.
I didn't have to drill a hole like he did, I used a tiny screwdriver and moved it gently about a fraction of a millimeter outwards (the brass/copper piece).
Thanks very much for posting, it didn't cost me anything! Cheers

Thank you so much! I’ve been having exactly this issue on my 2010 Santa Fe! You saved me a trip to the mechanic!😊

Thank you for actually showing how to replace the bulb. I've been fighting with the connector for 2 hours trying to get this bulb out without breaking it, and dealing with my phone not wanting to connect to the internet, then I get your video to buffer just enough to skip to the part I would need just to find out you didn't show shit.

This was exactly my problem too on my wife’s 2009 Santa Fe. Pulled the bulb, bulb looked fine replaced it with a new one same problem, raised the contacts a bit, put the old bulb back in and presto it worked, thank you so much for this video

I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I had replaced both front headlights due to a collision and then experience fast flashing on both the right and left sides. Hazzard worked fine. The issue was with the turn signal bulb socket. I had used the new ones that came with the new head lights. Luckily I kept the old bulb sockets. Once I put the old ones in the normal flashing was fixed.

Thank you! This was exactly the problem I had. I didn’t have to drill a hole in the bulb socket though. I just used pliers or small screw driver to pry that copper connector back out. Now it works fine.

iheartsingletrack maybe you should make a video on how NOT to drill the socket for testing

@@prometheus8010 I had this issue, you just gotta pull up on it a bit and finesse it out of there. Don't be afraid to apply a bit of force to get it out

This was the exact issue I had with my 2010 Santa Fe. (Driver's front side too). Anyway, I am rather convinced that this is a chronic problem with this model and generation from my research and comments. I was able to use one of those really small screwdrivers (for eyeglasses) and was able to get enough of a "bite" on it to pry it out further so that the copper piece would make contact. I urge caution when doing this, as I about pried it up too far because I couldn't get it to make contact and I about snapped it off. Anyway, the only reason I changed it myself was that several mechanics told me they had to drop the bumper and it was going to cost over $100.00 dollars to change the bulbs out. Hog Wash! Folks - do your homework and Sir, I thank you for posting this video!

As a scientist and having too much knowledge in the abstract vs hand's-on experience, I'm just so tickled with the fact that I saved myself some $ by just having the confidence to attempt this challenge... Going to pop some bubbly and provide a bad review to the mechanics that ill-advised me!

As Leo Slayer would sing... "You make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I'm gonna dance the night away
You make me feel like dancing
I feel like dancing, dancing, dance the night away
I feel like dancing, dancing ahhh....

Thank you very much! But I didn't need to drill a hole.. all I did was scrape off some of the inside copper that would connect to the bulb and it worked like a charm

You started the video after doing the difficult part so this is completely useless.
