    There was an English wet shaver some years back on the old shavemyface forum who spoke to reps from the Gillette plant in Russia. DE blades are most at risk during travel. Carts are protected in a plastic shell and case. Apparently, and this is second hand but makes sense, the wax helps the blade stay put and not jostle around preventing blade dulling or jagged edges. A pain, yes, but supposedly a sign of a well made and delivered blade.

    Great shave Chris. Love Leo's brushes, I had him custom make one for me and it turned out brilliant, thank you for turning me on to him, cheers.

    Nacets seem much sharper than GSB's IMO.

      Yeah gsb are one of my least favourite blades. They are useable though.

      Are your blade tucks written in Arabic like mine? I don’t see English except for the word Saudi which make me think they’re counterfeit

    • @guitarzarfun
      @guitarzarfun 3 роки тому +1

      @@greg6162 mine have the alligator getting cut in half with a razor blade on front and on back with "Gillette Nacet Stainless".
      On the small ends of the tucks it has
      "5 blades 96964892" with arabic writing below it.
      On the long edges of the tuck: one edge is blank and the other has a bunch of arabic writing a couple numbers "1751" and "21588" and super small text there's a email "egconsumers@custhelp.com".

    Oh Oh Oh! also, while I'm here and talking about Yaqi, I have fallen in love with their double open comb. First shave was ordinary but I discovered that this thing likes to be used 'riding the cap' more than most razors. Smoooooth as butter when you favor the cap in your passes (shallower handle angle). I like it heaps more than their straight bar so far but I suspect I may need to experiment with angles more with it as well.

    Great shave Mate...Yeah I have the exact same thoughts about those blades. Both great buttery smooth yet sharp blades but at the end of the day I give it to the Nacet. It's not been one much talked about until recently but devotees have always known what a great blade it is. I find I get extra mileage from them as well..they last that bit extra and when they start to go off, they let you know gradually rather than start ripping the whiskers out of your face or slicing you up .

    Hi Chris,
    I got some silver blue blades in a multi pack from Connaught shaving. I was recommended to do this by Kevy. I haven't tried them yet. I was thinking about trying some Nacets. I have sensitive skin so I cut and mark easily. I know exactly what you mean about the Samurai blade edges. I own 10 Katana's and the edge just tapers down to a very fine edge from the bo-hi. Like an elongated triangle.
    Take care mate,
    Dave.

    I also find that these blades to be identical. GSB blades cost less though. They both have the admonishment to never wipe the blade.

    Great shave and blades comparison Dude. Thanks again for sharing. I'm trying to get my bro, onto DE shaving...and hopefully he's watching your Videos as well... I'm also trying to convince colleagues at work to try Wetshaving with DE razors - and I see so much of my initial fears and reservations in these same colleagues. Guess I know where they come from and why they react the way they do.. Now i'm babling. :-)
    Keep well and Keep safe.

    Cris, oh my. you dont know what this video you did meant to me. Yes im trying to find a Gillette and with what you said and Italian Barber right now has 100 nacet for 14.99 USD (looks just like what you had hanging on your door from the Lambert's lather review) it is an absolute no brainer now with how you explained them. I also saw your SV Grail in that same lather video and ordered one of those from SV in Italy as Smallflower in the US says they are out of production now. I appreciate how you talked and explained it. it sounds crazy but its like you know me and im in Utah, USA on how you talked about how the DE shaves get better and you talked about feathers and the blade angles. My very first DE shave was Feb 10, 2018. it was with a vikings blade "trainer blade" and it was out of a horror movie. after that i went right to feather blades and have been having good (for a new person) shaves since and each one is getting better. the Nacets are ordered and thank you for taking the time. Mike

    • @AnotherCutAbove

      The soaps can be bought from lather Bros and the brush can be got from leo frilot of perfect woodwork llc.

    • @AnotherCutAbove

      Prices will have changed since I got my brush, around $100us for the finished brush. The soap set around &$40 I reckon but you won't find the devils on the field soap as it's a one off for myself

    great shave Cris.... i think the Nacet blades are fantastic, as are the GSB's....i think overall though the Nacets are better due to price difference.....Nacets are 1.50p for 5.... GSB are 2.50p for 5.... dont understand why the price difference...as you said pretty much same blade..... GSB need to sort out them glue spots.... fucking nightmare.... last one i used glue was on the actual cutting edge.... to ages to clean off....all the best mate....Mark

      I just received a 50/pack of Nacet myself and noticed it looks like mine are counterfeit? The writing looks to be all Arabic and I don’t see anything indicating they’re made in Russia, No English writing except the word Saudi written on the tuck. Anyone with any insight would be greatly appreciated

      Rino And their knots are from Yaqi...

    • @rino5735
      @rino5735 6 років тому +1

      René Zoeter Yaqi is only a little Chinese company (one of hundreds) and they sell few brushes, razors and knots. Simpsons, Aulitzky, Thäter and Shavemac buy only badger hair and make their own knots, that’s why their brushes are „handmade“. All badger hair is from China, but not everything is from Yaqi.
      Maggard = Yaqi? Did they say that?

    • @ener5361
      @ener5361 6 років тому +2

      Rino Yes they did. Maggard purchases there brushes from Yaqi.
