During the holidays, I re-shelled a pair of joycon into the Pokemon scarlet and violet edition shells and used a program that changes the color that the switch detects when connecting them. I was worried I'd rip the cable to the battery or rumble as they're very tiny, but everything worked out great.
Nice video. The biggest problem I have when I did a shell swap two years ago was the triggers, I was unable to do it because of the amount of stress I had.
Dude those splatoons are incredible! I already have custom joycons but I really want those. I got a golden pro switch shell from extreme rate the day they put them up (prolly 2 years ago now). Incredible quality. I have some of their buttons and shells for gameboys too. Love extreme rate
Hopefully there’s a tutorial on customizing Switch Pro Controllers soon bc I’d definitely be interested in turning one to resemble Bayonetta’s set of guns for the second game, called “Love is Blue”, maybe even finding someone to give it a paint job to look as accurate as possible!
He alredy made one! Btw i'm talking out of expirience and i gotta say pro cobtrollers are a lot easier to make a shell replacement on than joy cons. Almost no tedious ribbon cables and screws
@@Demeech awesome bud! I was on the site today and saw some very cool JoyCon covers that gave me ideas. Your tutorial was great, I can def attempt to do mine now. You should do more vids showing off some of your work. You prob have some awesome handhelds and consoles.
Hey Demeech, hey commenters I recently replaced my joy con shell and i have a problem! My right joy con works perfectly fine when used in handheld mode, but when i take it off of the console there are no lights on the side when pressing buttons. The console also recognizes the joy con with basically no batter left and it won't charge. If you have any idea what went wrong, please tell me! I'd love to know what's wrong!
Make sure the two cables from the joycon's rail are connected to the motherboard. I had a similar issue when the lower cable wasn't all the way connected.
Got my shells set up without any issues thanks to this tutorial. Thank you!
thank you for an easy straight forward tutorial!!

Glad to see a tutorial on how to remove the gumwads and tape
I would love it if you made a video about Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp.
Yeah that'd be cool
I'm clinging onto my pre-order at Target from one of their B2G1 sales. Hopefully the game gets released soon.
If only the game released
its all fun until the stick starts drifting cause you reassembled it 0.0001mm away from the center
Everything is cool until they drift. 😔
but you fix it adding nintendo labo inside
This is Demeech we’re talking about
He’s always sure to get analog sticks that don’t drift
And therefore make this video entirely pointless.
Not mine!
by then just replace the joysticks, it's actually easier than reshelling

The Splatoon Joy-Cons come with the set. I listed them in the description if you want to buy them.
Peedy showing up randomly had me cracking up😂

I have one on the channel! It's quite easy to do as well.
They look great! I think I will give it a try with mine.
You should! They also have shells based on retro consoles like the SNES and Game Boy. I'm currently using SNES Joy-Cons.

@@FestivelyPlump7 Yes it is, but perhaps a cable is broken. That's my only guess

@@ssmelche thank you! I'll make sure to check that when once i have time
Usually an issue with the rail connection or battery. Make sure the ribbon cables are secured.
My joycons are in the shadow realm currently.

The Z Buttons on the SIDE of some of my joycons,Sttoped working for some reason. Now I can't play Mario party.
