Sometimes the line “What would they say if they knew it was Michael?” Randomly floats into my head because it’s so ridiculous but I still love this movie. I knew all the songs and loved Johnny and Stephanie.
I agree but from a film this weak I am not surprised. It´s sending such skewed message to people, like kids if you really want someone don´t show them who you really are nope become someone else entirely. Seriously who would want a girl so cheap that she falls for a guy on a flashy motor cycle with a couple of aces up his sleeve ?
Simfan923. right. like how did the guy after cool rider not realise it because he said save up money for a motorcycle and then micheal turns up like duh
@Christopher Cravens damn right. The T-Birds in the first would've taken Balmudo and his gang although The Scoripons/Cycle Lords would hold their own and it would've been a badass greaser brawl. Michael was the consumate tough guy in the second film. Johnny and his gang of clowns were chickenshit. Wanna be tough guys if there ever was.
I loved that line when I watched this dozens of times on showtime when I was 8. Grease 2 is meant to be just fun. Silly and corny yes but fun. The first one is a better overall movie but 2 had songs that were just as good as the first.
"He ain't foolin No-one on that pile of chrome and steel; burnin up the pavement, like he was some kind of wheel!" I sing this in my head whenever I go to Bikefest. Love this movie! Not as good as the first but STILL severely underrated!
The thing I like more of the story line in Grease 2 is, being a guy, it's cool to see the normal guy change his ways to get the cool girl, but then in the end, she loves him for who he is.
I watched this movie so many times when I was younger and lived in Germany. Every song from this movie reminds me of it. This, along with Grease, is one of my all time favorite movies
"Whoa-oh-oh! Who's that guy?!?" I love it! Grease and Grease 2 are Hollywood at its best. 30+ years later and the music is still popular and it will be for another 30.
Kid's don't try this at home... Kicking over a motorcycle gang leader and driving between them is only for those that can sing/ survive training montages.
The major problem with Grease 2 is that it doesn't have a constant storyline, as the script wasn't finished when they started filming. Like they dropped Frenchy half way through with no explanation what happened to her for the rest of the film. In her last scene, she commented one of the Pink Ladies she had a nose job, even though she said she walked into a door. That was supposed to be a recurrence of this character, but many of her scenes were cut. The music number in the bunker, that was also a subplot of both characters that was building up to that point and later one but was scrapped. Also, this movie takes place two years later and I question where many of these main characters came from as they weren't in the first movie.
+SalandFindles cetainly one who could have played Marty in the original play or movie....because in the play Marty is the is one who has the sleep over, not Frenchy and she sings Freddy My Love at the sleep over
When you're older playing a younger character, it gives the illusion that that young character has a mature-wise side to them, plus when they act goofy and like a teenager, it's not as bad as when an actual teenager tries to do it.
This whole scene (and the movie) is iconic cuz, besides the song being great, later on this scene, Steph has one more of her feminist icon moments, saying that she's "Tired about being someone's chick" Grease 2's only problem is that the sad songs were kinda lame, but it's still a pretty great movie. You guys are just too bonded to the first one and don't open your minds for this one.
That seems to be a worldwide consensus. Grease 2 didn't do well anywhere. Michelle was cast in Scarface just months after this debut. They thought she was an unknown and even argued whether or not she was worth hiring.
True. Actually, I prefer this a lot over the first one. Admittedly, I never saw it in cinema. Well, maybe because IMO, no car can ever be as cool as a motorcycle.

Where as Grease was iconic and an instant classic, Grease 2 feels more like the geriatric uncle or grandpa of "High School Musical" or perhaps the confused American cousin of "The Young Ones" starring Cliff Richard.
Ever since I found out that there was this movie, I fell in love with it. I like it a bit better than Grease but more so on the reason that I find it so over played. And it doesn't help that even years later I still have a crush on the character Micheal

Ashley Dykeman Ah I wasn't trying to change your opinion. I see why people like Grease 2. It also has memorable songs and lines. For me it was just the fact that there was too much mass choreography and it depended less on the personal dramas of the characters.
Stephanie is a far better character than Sandy in many ways. She didn't have to change herself and become something different for one, Michael changed himself to become what she had described but when Stephanie finds out it's him she knows he's a smart guy who genuinely actually likes her from their previous interactions. Stephanie is probably a big reason why many who were born in the 80s 90s like the second movie more. People can bash it all they want Cool Rider is still the best song from the first or second movie :P.
JOTennisVid I agree. I like Stephanie and Michael better than Sandy and Danny, they weren’t as cliched. Someone said this one was ahead of it’s time and I agree.
The characters of Grease 2 Stefanie Zione and Michael are my favorite. This movie taught me in the end. That a girl you really don't like you for who you are at first, change but don't change mich until they realize what they had in front of them the whole time. Accepting the real you and only the true you.. Sometimes you have to change yourself for the better.

I like how the roles were reversed for the sequel.

- The male lead is shy and timid.
- Also, the cars are replaced by motorcycles.

The major problem with Grease 2 is that it doesn't have a constant storyline, as the script wasn't finished when they started filming. I think Pfeiffer was about 22 or 23
@rudy2fat not really. she wasn't even close to 30. but I agree most movies use 20-30 yr olds to play teenagers. Mostly they do it for legal reasons.
When you're older playing a younger character, it gives the illusion that that young character has a mature-wise side to them, plus when they act goofy and like a teenager, it's not as bad as when an actual teenager tries to do it.
Grease 1 is for women, Grease 2 is a movie for the guys. It's from a boy's perspective and speaks to male introverts everywhere.

Grease 2 is the superior grease
Oh this movie will always 100% be better than the original for me. I love both. But these one holds my heart.
i agree i mean Maxwell just make any woman melt to a gue.
***** The hell are you people on about. Grease 2 can't hold a candle to the original. I do like it though.
***** Thanks for your opinion. But alas, it doesn't change the fact that my opinion is different to yours. Funny how the world works sometimes.
Ashley Dykeman Ah I wasn't trying to change your opinion. I see why people like Grease 2. It also has memorable songs and lines. For me it was just the fact that there was too much mass choreography and it depended less on the personal dramas of the characters.
No way is this better than the original
Shooter McGavin´s fresh years. He didn´t change very much...
Love this move. Better than 1st one. Guilty pleasure lmao
I dont either understand the hate towards grease 2. Its 10,000% times better then the first part. In storyline, in songs, wake uppeople
ah no!!!!
Markie Green ah yes
The energy was just not there. The Grease magic was just gone
Grease 2 is amateur hour compared to the first one.
The first movie had some great songs in it that people until this day love. I couldn't tell you one good song in grease 2.
Will always be 100% better than the first grease!!!
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
He came out of the darkness in the middle of the night
Blazing like a mother with a fist of dynamite
He ain't foolin' no one on that pile of chrome and steel
Burnin' up the pavement like he was some kind of wheel
He's lookin' for a rumble and some heads are gonna bust
He's gonna take a tumble with one solitary thrust
The only thing you guys are gonna do is eat his dust
Who's that guy? Where did he come from?
Who's that guy? Hey, tell me, someone
I never knew anyone could be so cool
Woah-oh-oh
Who's that guy? He's just amazin'
From headlight to tailpipe, his burners are blazin'
Looks to me like he could really fly
Who's that guy? Who's that guy?
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
He wears a pair of goggles like a man from outer space
It really doesn't matter that I haven't seen his face
We're gonna wrap those handlebars around that neck of his
The punk is gonna get it when we find out who he is
Everybody wants you when they don't know who you are
If you're a man of mystery, it really takes you far
Everyone around you thinks that you're a star
Who's that guy? Where did he come from?
Who's that guy? Where can I get one?
They never knew that I could be so cool
Woah-oh-oh
Who's that guy on that motorcycle?
What would they say if they knew it was Michael?
Looks to me like he could really fly
Won't somebody tell me?
Who's that guy? Who's that guy?
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
Who-ooh, who's that guy?
Who's that guy? Where did he come from?
Who's that guy? Hey, tell me, someone
I never knew anyone could be so cool
Woah-oh-oh
Who's that guy? He's just amazin'
From headlight to tailpipe, his burners are blazin'
Looks to me like he could really fly
Won't somebody tell me?
(Who's that guy?) Where did he come from?
(Who's that guy?) Where can I get one?
(Who, who, who?) Woah-oh-oh
(Who's that guy?) Dressed in leather
(Who's that guy?) 'Cause it feels better
(Who, who, who?) Woah-oh-oh
(Who's that guy?) Where did he come from?
(Who's that guy?) Where can I get one?
(Who, who, who?) Woah-oh-oh
"everyone inside...we bowl! " :p

my mom knows all the songs from this movie by heart since she was a little girl watching this movie once she get it will bring back her childhood memory.
I like both the second ones a bit more hormone induced but I still like it
The writers and producers done a good job on this song.
