my husband had the privilege of interviewing Olivia Newton John before she died and he said how absolutely lovely and delightful she was. Rest in peace, sweet angel
You're such a beautiful and talented lady and if a woman loved me like that and or sang to me like that I'd be hers forever ! That's the kind of passion and romance you usually only get to dream of and long and ache for !
Damn microphone texting I meant to say she is such a beautiful and talented lady or was and I was not aware she had passed. My heart goes out to her and her family.
At the time Grease came out in the theaters in 1978, I was 9 years old and being raised in an abusive, dysfunctional household. As a result, I turned towards watching LOTS of TV and went to the movies as a way of providing myself with escape and comfort from my misery. Back then I was going to the movies with my then best friend. We were a couple of fanatics about the movies. We talked, read, ate, drank, and slept the movies. And we went to the movies together once a week, every week for a lot of years from the 1970s-1980s. We saw literally hundreds upon hundreds of movies over the years. We tried to see every new movie that came out regardless of plot, genre (he loved horror films, I preferred comedy), critics reviews, who was starring in it, etc. So there was no particular reason we went to see Grease. It just happened to be a new movie that was just released. As much as I loved the moviegoing experience in itself, as an abused, neglected child, there were a small handful of movies that stood out and managed to hit me in the very right places at the very right time. Grease was one of those movies. Right from my very first viewing, it quickly became one of my all time favorite movies and remains that to this day. In the following years, I purchased the soundtrack album, the fotonovel, and whenever Grease popped up on tv, I'd drop everything to watch it. Today I own the movie on DVD. So, I say to the creators and the cast and crew of Grease, from the bottom of the heart of an abused boy, thank you all so very, very much.
Words can’t describe how heartbroken I am feeling right now - can’t help weeping as I read the many beautiful tributes in this thread already even though it’s only been a few hours since the news broke of your passing. Olivia you were the soundtrack to my life as I was growing up as well as the paradigm of everything I wanted in a partner - and you brought me so many happy memories! Today we have all lost one of the world’s greatest musicals icons and most angelic voice! Gone way too soon, may you RIP Olivia! 😢

How many girls can relate to this! Olivia put so much feeling into this to where you start tearing up......and I'm a guy. She is so pretty and what a wonderful voice. Thanks to God for creating her and allowing us here on earth to enjoy all that she gave us while she was here.
I will miss Dame Olivia but I'm so thankful we have Grease to remind us just how amazing she is. I'm also grateful to appreciate her in life. Rest in Eternal Peace Dame Olivia.
We were extremely blessed to have this gorgeous angel, with that incredible voice, here with us in our world for as long as we did. There will never be another Olivia Newton John. She will be in our hearts (and music catalogs) forever!
She was almost 30 when she did this movie. I always wondered why she was turning 40 in the late 80s, being a kid myself born the year Grease cane out. She was such a beautiful soul. X
For me i consider this film they best 50/60's style musical that hasn't been toped yet even in the heights failed with there musical. Grease is one of those classic you can just enjoy even today
She is one of the greatest vocalists of our age. Her voice is perfect! I grew up on her music...Have you never been mellow, Please Mr. Please. All of the grease songs...I just love her
Olivia Newton john was a complete legend and was so awesome at playing in grease! She was so beautiful! She was my dad's crush! Awww! Rest in peace Olivia Newton john!
Whenever I watch Grease, this song always stands out from the musical for me. It almost feels like it was inserted from a different movie. The style is different from the other songs, and the quality of the performance of Olivia Newton-John levitates ways above the rest.
Beautiful song and the music video's incredbile. The acting is perfect Olivia play's Sandy's part wounderfully. Her voice is truly magical she killed it with the highnotes and you can see she had a blast making the music video. Love Sandy she's the sweetest, fun, cool and really good dancer
Rest in peace Olivia Newton-John! Your beautiful voice and role as Sandy made a big impact on my youth. My sister and I would sing to the soundtrack and make up dances when we were young. We both thought you were the most beautiful Girl and pretended to be you. Thank you for the memories and sharing your gorgeous voice and talent with us.
What an amazing song. What an amazing voice. If you didn’t know any better, you would think Olivia is actually Sandy Olssen the way she sings this song. Just beautiful. RIP Olivia. Gone way too soon.
U will always be our beautiful Olivia, our princess Sandy. We love you and we will always remember you. God bless you forever, thank you for your music, your movies and for your love and help to cancer patients. If there is someone who deserves to be in paradise, that is you...
Her sweetness and purity of spirit and love just sears through here. Olivia is Sandy we feel. A beautiful soul shows us her inner beauty and makes us feel that this is a completely true declaration. The guitar work here too is sublime. A great moment and way, way beyond simple entertainment.
Rest in Peace Olivia. My so-called mum didn't do much for me and my brothers but she did introduce me to Grease and so I found your songs, uplifting and sentimental. Many thanks for giving me a conduit with which I can tell my man how I feel. You'll never be forgotten x

An absolute legend! Such talent! Plus, as far as I know, no scandals. She was also incredibly loyal; just ask Travolta... She kept all his secrets, even though he wasn't as discreet. A friend who never betrayed a trust. I hope he appreciated her. From all I can tell, he did, indeed.
I was born 1995 my parents showed me and my siblings this movie and its songs and reminisced on sweeter times...forever and always up the summer nights with GREASE LIGHTNING
Great scene from "Grease" enjoyed Olivia Newton-John despite being heartbroken and sad of her passing. This movie and hearing her singing will see to that she is alive! Thank you very much.
My dad showed me this movie when I was a kid and I fell in love with it. This was one of my favorite songs from the movie I always sang along even though my heart never hurt like this when I was so young. RIP Olivia Newton John

Hurts a lot less when you aren't. When you're hopelessly relinquished, doesn't hurt at all.
Especially when they don't love you back 😞
This was the first song to hit my brain after I read headlines. I can't concentrate this movie is a forever favorite. Rest well
