- Flying with Jet2 for the first time on their Bristol Airport to Funchal Madeira Route.
It's Travel Day! Onboard with plenty of excited passengers who were glad to be going on holiday again.
The Jet2 plane was a Boeing 737-800 delivered in 2017.
The flight time itself was about 3 hours 20 minutes.

Going on my first Jet2 flight in May 2022. But it is one of my first flights period. Only been on one 1hr Eastyjet flight to Jersey. The lack of certain things don’t matter to the likes of me. We wouldn’t notice. We’ve no prior experience. Great insight into a Jet2 flight. Nice to see the passengers applaud the pilot at the end. Shows great respect and appreciation.

Thanks, it was good to get away although all the procedures can be a little stressful. Most of them are because of the UK government and not Madeira

We are off to Madeira later in the year. We have done the trip before and have used Jet 2 on many flights around Europe. Have always found Jet 2 to be good to fly with. I find the extra leg room seats worth the extra money but, as you say, have a good meal before you get on the flight. Glad you landed safely, always interesting landing at Funchal because of runway location and possible cross winds.
It was the first time with Jet2 as they didn't have a location near us but this summer, they started flying from Bristol.
Jet2 is the best airline in the uk

It's definitely a bit scary. I've been to Madeira twice: the first time I've both left and arrived when it was dark, and the second time when I landed it was the other way into the airport compared to normal and the plane was moving a bit with the gusts and you could only see the steep rocks and the sea until you were on the runway, definitely a bit scary

Hi love the video 👍 will going to Madeira in 3 weeks time. What did you require to provide at the airport before travelling?
At the airport before flying out you have to show the Madeira Safe QR code and your vaccination certificate (or PCR test if not vaccinated). Don't worry if the Madera Safe website says the documents aren't yet validated as they do this when you land at Madeira as you leave the airport.
@@flydriveexplore thank you for replying to my comment. I wasn’t sure if I needed to get a pcr test done as I’m double vaccinated before I leave the uk. Did you need a pcr test for return to the UK?
Not a PCR but a quick test at a pharmacy (up the nose) within 72 hours of your return, the Madeira Safe website will give you this free of charge once you arrive but you need to book early to make sure you get one near where you are staying. We booked on the first day. All this may change by the time you visit.
Myself and my wife use Jet 2 all the time now. We are looking to go to Madeira this summer but do not know which resort to go to. Can I ask what hotel were you staying at and what board did you have.

3 hours 18 minutes wow, you can get around over there in no time! Food looked pretty meh but for that short of a flight, you could maybe get away with eating before and not on the plane. Also, my opinion on the clapping: I don't fly very often but that kind of a landing doesn't seem so abnormal to me to warrant clapping afterward..
Yes, just over 3 hours and we're off the coast of North-West Africa. It takes longer to get through the airport than the flight itself.

Jet2 were normally based too far away from us but they started flying from Bristol this summer.

Oh.Wow !! People were so excited to hear the announcement of the take off in the process !!! LOLLOLLOL. I didn't get what he was saying !! I had to listen to it very carefully like 6 times in a row to understand !! 😅 It is still hard for me if it's muffled sound / voices ! And I've never heard of that destination !! Sorry !! 😞

But, I could be wrong as it's been such a long time since the last time I was at am airport !! Lol. Like 5 years ago almost !? 4 + years ago ! I flew to San Francisco. Funchal is the capital city of the Portuguese Island of Madeira and it is a popular vacation destination for the British. Jet2 is a UK based holiday company that flies to most of the popular vacation spots around Europe. All the people on board were off on holiday for 1 or 2 weeks.

Lol.I had watched some movies based on truth of an Irish company doing illegal act ( some bad toxic chemicals leaked thru in the cabins from the engines & caused passengers& pilots cancers !! ) & those hard landings of Ryanair scare me !!! Personally we avoid Ryan Air if we can but don’t mind Easyjet and thought Jet2 were the best of those type of low cost airlines

@@spark_6710 It's mainly the fact that they are very rigid. If there is a problem they charge you for everything even if your name is spelt wrong by one letter. The company has a bad reputation. for customer service which is non-existant
NEVER TOUCH THE BACK OF THE SEAT IN FRONT OF YOU UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO,
Just remember how annoying it is for the person in front of you, they have paid to sit comfortably in that seat and don't want to be disturbed by your rudeness.
