We stayed at the VidaMar Resort Hotel as part of our 7 day trip with #Jet2 holidays.

The hotel is about 25 minutes walk from the city centre and sits overlooking the Atlantic ocean with its gardens, pools and lido.
There is a buffet breakfast and dinner but you can also eat in one of VidaMar’s other restaurants.
The rooms have balconies with great views.

It was really good to get away. We only decided to go a few weeks before we went when we knew we could actually go and restrictions weren't going to change.

Looked like an excellent hotel, agree with you, it looked more like a 4 star than a 5 star.
We had a good time and it was a good hotel although the star system is a bit weird. When I think of 5 star I think of place like the Four Seasons etc

As someone who has used the hotel many times I think you did a pretty fair and good job on your review, so well done you.
My wife and I particularly like the amazing Thelaso Pool and Spa complex, a great place to spend a day. The bucks fizz at breakfast is a nice touch too!
We tend to go in the winter so we also love the indoor/outdoor heated pool on the upper floor and the Xmas lights in Funchal are well worth seeing.
The free underground car park is also a bonus, we always pre book and hire a SIXT car at the airport, one year it was cheaper than the shuttle transfers.
We're off to the Vidamar again in December for some winter sun............. We just love Madeira, but keep it a secret!
