2009 Hyundai Sonata. Hyundai has made its mark in the United States. It is now the countrys number four import brand, thanks in no small part to the Sonata. The midsize Sonata is Hyundais best-selling vehicle, and for good reason. It offers a smooth ride, a generous interior, competitive engines, and lots of features for the dollar.
The Sonata has grown over the years, and is now sized right in line with competitors like the Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu and Toyota Camry. lol we have this car, just passed 33,000 miles. Got it in august & love it, pretty quick for a four cylinder.

I have the 2009 Sonata GLS with the 4 cylinder and it's awesome. The ride is smooth and quiet. The stereo is great and with the USB port I can play music from my USB memory stick. I tend to keep my cars longer so resale value for me is mute. Can't beat Hyundai's warranty and it's standard features which are optional on other makers. It's like QVC = Quality, Value, Convenience.
i will definetly buy a sonata... i wanted a lancer ralliart cz the traxion is on the rear weels so it's a lot easier to handle when you pump gas. but this1 has more room, it's simply gorgeous

Not nimble, ha! I installed a set Eibach springs on my 2009. Personally, I find the oem ride quality to be too.. Buick-like, what with the dramatic nose dive, squat, and sway. It was my first non-sports car, however, so I am biased in that regard. I actually have only had to replace the starter which I did this past weekend. Surprisingly, it was much easier to work on than I thought! Ah, and reflash the transmission computer to fix hard downshifts, but that only ran 50 dollars at the dealer. Other than that, it's been a solid car, and these models with the updated headlights look much better than the previous models imho. I'll have to post a walk-around clip after I detail it, I've actually had people mistake it for a Jaguar, but it might be a little difficult to tell it's a Hyundai at all!

@teofthe No, what you described is what is most important to YOU. Reliability is clearly the most important thing to most consumers, which explains why the best-selling cars are generally the most reliable. And the ones that aren't but still sell well are as bland as the reliable ones. How many exciting models do Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, and Chevrolet have that are hot sellers?

i have an 07 sonata V6, fully loaded (minus leather). i love this car. haven't had any problems. it's got a strong engine, and getting up to speed or passing is not a problem. it's a strong car with lots of room. far from generic and i think the 07 interior looks better than the mazda & camry
i love mine too cheap lightweight body with that healthy 3.3 still gets up

A car needs to get you from point A to point B. I like my Sonata. I wouldn't trade it for a Camry or Accord any day. Especially not the Camry ...
@DanielDJCRO It's actually all about ergonomics. American is very large compared to the E.U. So it actually comes down to Europeans not having as much room to park and drive as American's. Plus your gasoline prices are usually much higher than ours too.

hyundai didnt come in the game late they knew what they were doing they wanted to come out at this spoint when gas prices were high and their cars get great gas mileage and hyundai learned from all the other companies on what not to do so they dont have recalls like other car companies have gotten. hyundai is smart with their blue drive. the new equus and the nuvis are 2 cars that have amazing styling and pretty much beet honda toyota ford vw and muhc more

@MrNuga88 Manufacturers "borrow design cue's all the time. The latest Hyundai's are not borrowing anything from their competition. In fact they are exceeding a lot of expectations and perceptions and still being quite affordable and reliable.

@flip92 exactly no point in buying a new car to sell it. idk why they concider the mazda a family sedan when you really think about it not many people have a mazda as a family sedan most people have hyundai toyota and honda for a family sedan
Its weird that in Europe Hyundai has only small and compact cars but in the America they have only big and luxury ones. But thats probably because we dont need much space and americans do.
everyone says the v6 isnt as fast as toyota or nissan but nissan and toyota use a 3.5 v6.

@misterbear1984 Honda is slipping or riding on their reputation lately. Their cars aren't quite as reliable as a few years ago (though still good), and in terms of engineering, they're falling behind. The new Civic only has a 5-speed manual instead of a 6-speed (Elantra does), which is becoming the standard, they don't have direct injection technology (Hyundai does), and their fuel economy is being eclipsed by other automakers like Ford and Hyundai while delivering more power.

@PROgoth121 This is true. And to add to this... MOST manufacturers were SHIT at one time or another.. it just happens that some came in late in the game (kia and Hyundai) and had a lot of catching up to do fast... especially when they realized the public would not stand for crap even if its cheap crap.

ive got a 07 platnum edition it ha a v6 and this thing moves i raced a ford fusin sport and walked it there no road noise and it alwas rides smooth i live in ny so thats saying something so i dont know what there talkin about

@AlmuntaserTV Most brands are good these days, but they all have problems. Toyota has been rapped with recalls, Nissan has issues with quality interiors (maybe not recently), Fords Catch on fire, BMW styling is for the birds, Don't even get me started on VW.... electrical gremlins, poor body panels... Chevrolet... Really?!?!?

I know, you wonder if Honda is getting ready with some type of invasion force! Everywhere you go there is Accord...EVERYWHERE! they aren't even that nice, I test drived it and I liked the Sonata more.
And the Camery has a Ugly & cheap interior compared to the sonata.
this review is BS the V6 Sonata will snap your neck back and pin you to the seat and they are calling the engine slow. I drove Camrys and they truly are slow and no where near as responsive as the V6 Sonata. It is unfair to compare a 3.5 litre Nissan against a 3.0 Sonata also but I will wager the Sonata will keep right up with it! The review also said the Soanta is not nimble which is BS again.

Resale is a big Korean problem. Poor for owner who paid through the gills new, great for the used buyer. I bought my 07 V-6 For $5K W/ tax & license and all in June of 18 W/ 92K on the clock. Great car well pleased with mileage and performance.
toyota & honda r trash!!!, well maybe honda had better handling & driving experience, the only good rated car from toyota r the hilux & landcruiser the rest r deep shit!!!
