that part at 2.10 onwards playing piano is just so beautiful, you beginning with a tune to orchestrate and the orchestrations are so beautiful too. merry christmas.
I know this is nearly a year old, but this sounds terrific! I don't know how you work in piano roll so fluently. I'm so married to notation but I suppose it's what you're used to. I'd love to hear something you've written with a longer form if you have anything. Maybe I should just become a Patreon supporter?
Thank you Steve, and thanks for your support! Here's a recent track of mine for an animation running about 4 minutes. It took time to get comfortable writing in a DAW but a little easier each day! ua-cam.com/video/boZ26erkpKE/v-deo.html
Okay so I stumbled on your channel and I gotta say you are really underrated in terms of views and subs. Your compositions are legit lush and wonderful and it's so insightful to see how you start wit ha piano sketch and evolve it and for a orchestral layman such as myself it's really valuable!
You’re talking about Cinematic Studio Series Runs around 16:08, but I never heard of those? I have the library and I don’t see any prerecorded runs… Did you mix the name up with another library?
Hey Zach, when you use the string ensemble as you did early on will you normally go back later and replace the ensemble by assigning parts to individual string sections? If so how do you decide which ones (eg violin 1/2/viola, is cello included, etc?)
Good question! Sometimes I will, if I need more realism or it's being sent to an orchestra. And those orchestration decisions are based on register, desired color/effect, and other orchestration knowledge I've built up... I'd check out my video on string writing to learn more!
