First solo tutorial I've done in a while. A bit rusty, haha. This is one of the great Maiden solos of which there are many. Most any list of the greatest Maiden solos will usually have this melodic beauty from Adrian Smith on it.
    Hope this helps you out,
    Cheers, K

Easily one of the best solos ever written.

Thank you for the wonderful lesson. When you described Adrain's playing I teared up. Took me back to my Himalayan home in a small obscure town of Darjeeling, where I struggled to pick up Adrian Smith's solos, as I can't read music. This solo was my revered one and didn't even attempt to play it all these years. Thanks to you I have given up my inhibitions and am now learning this as a tribute to the finest Rock Guitarist that I have heard in my Life. With regards.

By far the best rendition of that solo I've ever heard and I've been playing that solo for along time. It makes me want to turn my guitar into a coffee table. I gotta get out the old buffer and start polishing my technique up cause your fingering is top notch and made mine look like shit in comparison lol. I've also been studying your lesson on Ted Nugent (strangle my guitar? Strangle myself? Strangle hold 👍)!!And it's such a good lesson!!

Great cover, and I really respect your opinion about this solo as i also see it as the best solo adrian made although it’s a straightforward one but it was so ear-pleasing 🙂

Nice work mate. Struggle to get my fingers around some Smith solos but this one is both sweet and relatively easy. Subbed!

Always awesome, you mentioned you use mostly software now. What do you use? Do you have a video that shows your setup of finding your tones?
    Thanks!

Hey there Kelly, loving your video so far, great work!
I'd just like to ask for some advice if that's alright? I've been playing guitar for almost a year now and I feel like I'm progressing pretty well, and I've been wanting to start learning to play some more complex solos, but I'm starting to struggle with some technique and just in general.
Could you suggest any ways of improving my speed and accuracy when playing a solo? Especially with fast and continuous pull-offs across multiple strings, I'm especially struggling with this when trying to learn the Stairway to Heaven solo! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you! :)

I've mentioned this before, but muscle memory is the key. You need to be diligent and not get bored repeating the same line, technique or lick over and over and over again. Having trouble with something in particular? Just keep hammering at it. Even when you're not partaking in a practice session, have your guitar on your lap mindlessly repeating it over and over while your watching tv, or a movie etc.... Hammer it into your fingers with brute force. Then it'll become so ingrained you won't have to think about it eventually. It's takes time, it takes patience, but it's what I do when I'm struggling with something.

@@KellyDeanAllenGuitar Thank you so much for the reply! Loved this video btw, huge Maidens fan!
And thanks for the advice, I definitely need to keep hammering at it and practising you are definitely right!
Just one last question for you, how do you feel about playing solo/lead sections in general, with the thumb placed behind the neck opposed to over the top? I see a lot of excellent and legendary guitarists and yourself play with over the top, but I naturally feel more comfortable with behind a lot of the time. Am I at more of a disadvantage playing this way? Or does it not particularly matter?
