I got your wok in the mail this morning! Spent this afternoon seasoning it, and used it to cook this recipe tonight! It was absolutely amazing. The wok is great! I love everything about it. The flat bottom worked wonders on my glass cook top. The food was excellent! The meat came out so tender and I loved the texture. I definitely will keep using your water and salt technique. My husband said this needs to go at the top of my recipe list for our “usual meals” lol I agree! It was delicious!! Thank you so much for all the tips, tricks, recipes, and my beautiful wok!
Every technique you show, I have now adopted. I will soak the pork. I bought the ingredients I could find to try this tonight. I have the SoupedUp wok and it’s amazing! You are a great teacher.
This recipe reminded me of my father too. He would eat these peppers whole. Lightly sauteed with a little garlic and eaten on some nice and crunchy Italian bread, that's it. Not elegant but a fond memory of Sunday snack while watching football. I'm going out now and I'm going to get the ingredients to make this dish. Looks delicious and so simple to make. Thanks again for another easy and fast dinner idea. 🐼✌💗
Just made that recioe wuth a few adjustments (not enough green chillies) but added red and green peppercorn, The result were fantastic. The meat texture was on target. And the taste, very very good. Thank you for this recipe, and for the explanation you give in your videos. When you tell us why you add an ingresient we all learn fron you. Love your channel and congratulation to the person mix you videos. Very good job.
My new favorite channel. Thank you for showing the method with the pork. Shredded pork is my all time favorite Chinese dish but it's hard to find near me. Looks like I can use this easy method to prepare it myself.
I am so happy to have found you and your recipes. You are an outstanding, cheerful, teacher. I have tried several of your recipes with great success😊! Bought your carbon steel wok and use it for everything now. Wishing you great success.
I used your soaking in salted water method and the pork came out so tender it is unbelievable. Not sure if that was the trick or the way I cut it and stir fried it but it was great. I sliced the pork rather than cut into strips.
I made this tonight and it was easy and delicious! I only had jalapeno peppers, but they worked just fine. This is going to become a staple in our home. Thank you!
Omgosh! We made this for dinner and it was AMAZING! My favorite meal yet! We added bok choy too!! We’ve been woking up a storm since I received your wok last week!! 💛 all your videos and the wok!!
You have inspired me to try different foods, some I never heard about before I started watching you a couple months ago. Thank you for all the techniques you teach on your channel! I will never be able to do many of them, but what I am learning from your channel has improved my cooking, even if it's not remotely Asian food. It's not just what you cook, it's how you cook... you and others
Your videos are always so delightful and I feel like I learn something new to use in the kitchen every single time! Thanks for explaining just the right amount on all your wonderful dishes.
It also boils down to the science of marinades. There have been done tests on marinades that concluded that salt was pretty much the only ingredient that somewhat went into the meat. The rest remained mainly on the surface.
Hola excelente video and delicious recipe with very scientific knowledge I already subscribed to your channel and I will keep up following your delicious recipes... thank you!!
Just made this recipe. Never tried a recipe with five spice powder before, but it was delicious. It has a very warm and soothing flavor. I marinated the pork directly and let it sit for a few hours. Instead of pepper I used bell peppers and I added some thinly sliced carrot. I simply doubled the recipe for a family of four, but it made enough for five portions. The rest was quick and simple. Will definitely make again. 🤩
I just made this and my house smells so good now! I wish I could send you a photo! I achieved the breath-of-the-wok (aka wok hei) effect on my new induction range for the 1st time!! So happy!!! omg
Made this dish last night and it was delicious. However I did not have rice with it. I decided to have it on a nice homemade loaf of Italian bread. I have nicknamed it my Marco Polo sandwich honoring our shared heritage. I hope all your viewers know who Marco Polo was. I'm glad he went to China and brought back all the noodle ideas that formed the bases for so many pasta dishes that we enjoy from Italy. I know that you said this dish reminds you of your father so I hope I honored them both by using the bread and peppers that I remember along with the stir fry that reminds you of your father. Thanks 🐼✌💗
Now i want to eat Real Chinese Food I feel like here in America where getting a fake version. Souped Up Recipes make me so hungry. i suppose I'm gonna have to just try to wing it myself hope and pray I get it right ty Souped up Recipes wish I could try your dishes they all look so good!
One of my favorite dishes in N.Y. Chinatown is Tom Bung with hot peppers I've been looking for a recipe for it for a long time This one looks just like it!!! I'm SO Excited. Just one question. Do I handle the fully cleaned intestines the same way as the pork in this recipe? Thank you.
Saw green things and thought about green string beans. Would you consider doing three string bean recipes beans with oyster and soy sauces, beans with Hunan sauce, and your favorite version?
Always love it when she says, "Hi everyonnnnnnnne!". Love yourself recipes!
That's always my second favourite part, after the delicious cooking.
And it’s cute when she says sssssssssree instead of three.
You didn't put enough 'n'

Simple is always good, Mandy. Nice job.
I like when she tells us to strain out certain elements or else it will be annoying to eat
Those details are the difference in a great dish!
