      @Tee Vee I have tried a dozen of her recipes. And they turned out better than any restaurant. If she can teach ME, she's a pro...credentials or not.

      Her recipes are very well documented with clear directions each step of the way. I have been cooking my way through her channel, and I haven’t made anything yet that I didn’t like or had trouble following. These aren’t totally dumbed down like a lot of westernized recipes, and they use ingredients easy enough to acquire if you live in a diverse area or don’t mind ordering via the internet. I also love Steph and Chris from Chinese Cooking Demystified, but they are slavishly authentic, and I can’t always find the ingredients in the US or even order online.

    This is not an entree, it is a snack. In the video Mandy said beef jerky, and the texture is chewy. The flavor profile of this of this dish is delicious.

    Interesting, I never knew Bayleaf, Cumin, Cinnamon and Cardamom etc. used in Szechuan/Chinese food, I learnt something new. Thank you for an excellent demonstration.

    I finally made these little beef snacks, and my god they're delicious. Dangerously addictive... Thank you for the recipe-- they actually remind me of a Thai beef jerky called "nuer tod," which I was first served at the restaurant Lers Ros in SF, and that I miss dearly. So this recipe will be very helpful in filling that void! Thank you

    I LOVE learning so much about Chinese cuisine, and you are very thorough when explaining each and every process. I must say though...I don't like Cumin at all, so ill probably find another smokey, toasty spice to substitute in its place in this recipe. My dislike for Cumin is unfortunate, and is the main reason I don't like most Mexican dishes, as they use Cumin prominently in Mexican cuisine. That being said, I enjoy the complex flavors of Asian foods more than any other cuisine in the world, and your channel is the BEST for learning about each and every dish. Thank you for your hard work!

    • @SoupedUpRecipes
      @SoupedUpRecipes  3 роки тому +3

      That is ok. You can skip the cumin in this recipe. It will taste a bit different but it should still be delicious.

    I've watched a number of cooking channels and like yours too! I only have one day off a week when I'm lucky, and thus I can't make everything I want to make! I have a stack of recipe printouts I want to make but time is not with me! I hope to make them all before I die! I haven't yet gotten around to watching all of yours but they do look sooooo good!!! I can't do dairy stuff, but that's not the biggest concern with Asian cooking! Best wishes to you and yours!!! You will hear from me sooner or later when I make one of your recipes! Take care and thanks for the recipes!!!!

    I usually make a roast in the oven eat about half of it and save leftover dried roast, that sat in the fridge, for something else the next day, like chop up the beef for some taco thing or stews. I can easily use the roast to make this.
