- FIRST LOOK: The Mustang received it's redesign for 2024. Now Ford is bring back the special edition known as the GT/CS. On the outside you will discover Blue grill inserts, special GT/CS grill, uniquer 19in wheels and special side stripe. On the inside you will be welcome by a two-tone interior treatment. Powering the California Special is a 5.0L V8 that pumps out 480HP & mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Is the 2024 Ford Mustang GT California Special the BEST new muscle car to BUY?

What keeps Flat Rock busy is Europe with Mustang being Europe's best selling sports car.
Never liked the CS Mustangs, but I do like this latest edition. The blue accents really set this trim level off. As a reasonable priced option, should be a popular option.

Joe, yes, I would pay the extra $ for the California Special package and I am impressed with this convertible version. Also, as you stated, props to Lori for all of her efforts to make this channel the top-of-the-line production it is. God bless you both.

Damn they really went lowkey with this one. I always thought the pony on the edge of the front grille was what really made the GT/CS stand out - also the GT/CS badging instead of the 5.0 but I guess you gotta try different things to keep it interesting

That is a great question!
For me the Standard GT is the one I would buy. Don't care for the stripe or the blue accents. The grille without the pony is an improvement hopefully the aftermarket will give the 24 a proper grille.

Yo. I sat in that car today. I went to the auto show. I was watching over my nieces. You probably weren't there but if you were i probably would have missed you. I don't think the screens work for me especially on a convertible. I saw a lot of glare from the lights on the ceiling. We should have an option for analog gauges.

Traits of the original are the side scoops, turn-signal hood with twist-locks, upswept trunk spoiler, and prominent rectangular fog lights. All of these are missing here. Yet another swing-and-a-miss by Ford. Sincerely, a '68 CS owner.

Please tell your friends at Ford to address 2 big issues: BBQ tick and the undercarriage issue. Who put those two intakes? right behind both front wheels. They fill with rocks and debris and are guaranteed to rust and rot. Very shoddy.
