Have you seen and rated Gromyko Collins' performance of Marvin Gaye yet, on a scale from 1 to 10? There's some surprises to his interview with Tom Joyner! ua-cam.com/video/KZs6qFTLV_E/v-deo.html

Marvin was fighting a spiritual warfare....I believe God was calling him as a very young man; but i believe his father injected most of his pain, disappointment, hurts and unclear identity! His dad hated him, never supported him, cross dressing in front of him....thats enough to confuse a child for life! I loved Marvin Gaye! His music will always live on! May God rest his soul in peace! Amen!

Years ago, I walked into the living room and my older brother was playing the album "Here My Dear" and the song "When Did I Stop Loving You (When Did You Stop Loving Me )." My brother continued to explain to me that Marvin recorded the album to pay for the alimony as he was divorcing his wife. I found the music beautiful, painful, and amazingly Soulful! I have ALWAYS loved and admired Marvin's music. As a kid suffering physical abuse from my father Marvin's "What's Going On" was the first time ever that I heard anyone address the issue of child abuse! My all-time favourite Marvin Gaye song is "Distant Lover." Marvin was tortured by a lot of things including never really being loved by his father.

the "mona lisa" is the greatest work of art I have ever seen and "here, my dear" is the greatest work of art I've ever heard.

"Hear My Dear" was a masterpiece though it was lost on the public at that time.

There will never be another Marvin Gaye, the genius, whose music fits anytime, especially our time we are going through right now, and what better way to make something real people are really and truthfully may be going through. He was a genius and it is probably what killed him his own self-destruction and definitely self-love for himself?! It is nothing like speaking on what is going on and when you pass it is still going on! He will forever live! RIP Marvin Gaye. "I'm thankful for Marvin Gaye's struggle because without it I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength." just opinions...

I so love the fact that Grace Jones and Rick James handed Marvin the prize while Rick seemed so high on coke. It’s an ironic coincidence, Marvin was striving to kick his bad drug habits and while he was religiously, soberly and timidly reading his speech, Rick looked totally amused and super wasted and there goes the infamous old “coke is a hell of a drug” 😅
I highly agree with Smokey, if only Marvin had stayed in Belgium but life and its obligations caught up with him...😔

Good Morning. Marvin had planned to stay in Belgium but had to return to the US after he learned that his mother had to have major kidney surgery. His father had went to DC to sell the house that Marvin brought but had refused to give his mother her share of the profits. Marvin had planned to return to Belgium and his lawyer used to tell Marvin that he needed to. If Marvin would have brought his mother to Belgium he would have been alive

I also bought the hear my dear album, that album ain;t nothing but the painful truth ! he laid it down with some soulful melody's . if they hadn't pulled the album , it would have been another smash ! anybody, I mean anybody who'd experienced a painful ending to a loving relationship can definitely RELATE! you could insert your girls name in place of ANNA....and it's your life. IF you're in a relationship gone bad ,this album will definitely will pull you through and help heal you! and that's what meaningful melodies and lyrics supposed to do! and IT DOES!

the song at 2:50 is an intro to Distant Lover that he did at his live shows (using the Trouble Man theme).

I'm glad that he proved Berry Gordy completely WRONG with Midnight Love because I heard that he was telling Marvin that he wouldn't be nothing without them after he left Motown.

I HAVE THIS FRIEND JESSE BAILEY AND I SAW THE ALBUM" HERE MY DEAR" AND I SAID JOKINGLY" LET ME HOLD THIS MAN" HE SAID" MAN YOU CAN HAVE THAT BULLSHIT, THAT CRAP MAN" . I TOOK IT HOME AND PLAYED IT, AND WOUND UP PLAYING IT TO DEATH!!! I LOVE THAT ALBUM! ITS DOO WOP, SOUL, JAZZ.OPERA, AND " GOD IS LOVE" MAN, WHEN HE GETS TO THE PART" DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU ARE ,A THIEF , OR A BEGGAR , EVEN A SUPERSTAR, AS LONG AS YOU ARE MADE BY GOD ABOVE , I KNOW,I KNOW, IKNOW, AND UNNNNNNNNN, UNDERSTANDING!!!!1WOOOOOO!!! I EMPHACIZE ON THAT PART CAUSE ITS SO SOULFUL AND IVE GOTTEN ABOUT 20 PEOPLE TO BUY THAT ALBUM, CASSETTE, CD, I HAVE BEEN PROMOTING IT THAT LONG,BECAUSE ITS MAGIC FOR A PERSON TO EXPLAIN THEIR FEELINGS SO BEAUTIFULLY AND SIMPLY YET IF YOU THINK ITS AS EASY AS HE MAKES IT SOUND TRY IT SOMETIME. THE COVER, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS ART. SEE SOMETIME DOWN THE ROAD PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DISCOVER THAT MARVIN GAYE WAS AS MUCH A ARTIST AS BACH OR ANY OF THE FAMOUS PAINTERS THAT ARE SO RESPECTED AND REVERED AND HELD IN HIGH ESTEEM. THAT ALBUM WILL BE DISCOVERED AGAIN ONE DAY AS WILL" IN OUR LIFETIME?"WHICH IS A SERIOUS JAM ,WHOSE THEME IS, OUR TWO WARRING SPIRITS THAT EXIST WITHIN, AND WHICH WILL WE GIVE IN TO, THE GOOD OR THE EVIL WITHIN OURSELVES. TIME WILL TELL. TIME IS NO ONE S FRIEND; IT TOLD ON MARVIN ,IT WILL TELL ON ME, AND GUESS WHAT, ITS GOIN TELL ON YOU TOO! GOOD OR EVIL DARLIN ,THAT IS THE QUESTION FOR US ALL.

What about video 3 and 4, those two videos were about to talk about him and his famous duets with the one and only Tammi Terrell. This was about to get really good. I'm so mad, UMG keeps taking down live performances of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Why, I don't understand.

Commercial, Lisa Brown I really hope you win and I hope you get our children back. I hope you get our organic food back, all of it taken by carelessness of Cathy McMorris Rodgers. She is a mouthpiece for Monsanto and CPS ., big business. That by putting her picture on your commercials you are making her more well-known than she already is and giving her a chance to ruin our lives once again. Please take her picture off UA-cam.

I'm confused on why he didn't just tour with his old songs till it wasn't profitable anymore. Pay off his debts and try to live life.
