This was my movie of the week and I enjoyed it immensely. Joan Crawford, as always, gives a tour-de-force performance as the circus owner. Her character is seamless, but is commanding at the same time. She never begs for mercy, she's strong-willed and sees logic at every turn. One can sense the spirit of a woman who added a touch of grace to all her endeavours. If there was a problem, she figured out what the solution was. It was a triumph of will and perseverance over many seemingly insurmountable obstacles. The supporting cast of Ty Hardin [Bronco], Diana Dors and Judy Geeson [To sir with love] also gave noteworthy performances. Even at her age, Ms.Crawford still had very shapely legs encased in those tights. You must recall that she was a flapper during the roaring 20's and played in many musicals during the 30's and 40's. There was and will always be ONLY ONE JOAN CRAWFORD!!!
I have heard so much about this film! I have finally found it!!! Thank you, THANK YOU for the team who adds all these gems to UA-cam for our pleasure & ENJOYMENT!
How can someone DARE criticise any Crawford performance is beyond me. Don’t like her? Fine, but her talent really was something special. My personal favorite is Grand Hotel… ⭐️🎥🌪️🌹❤️
Was the first film I remember seeing in a drive-in when I was 5 years old and for years can remember a few key scenes. It was played on tv a couple of times but not as often as I wished in order to see it again. Finally I did get it on dvd recently. It's not a bad film considering it's low budget and as always, Crawford throws in a performance that was 110%.
She never minded lowering herself to these kind of films, even though she was a first class move star. As long as she was acting that's all she cared about. She always made sure ALL her fan mail was answered.
A good suspense film all around. Keeps you guessing right up to the end. Joan Crawford always had good stage presence, and some of the best legs in the business. Bear in mind, she was sixty-ish in this film. Say what you like about Joan but she nailed her role in this film. Thanks to the film company for making it and thanks to CineClips for posting.
Joan Crawford never failed to disappoint in all of her roles that she played .Monica Rivers said to Frank Hawkins;"Oh Matilda's attractive.. in a common sort of a way." The shade, lol
I really thought that Superintendent Brooks was familiar but couldn’t put a name to him. Mr Hardy was a very good looking young man in this film. Joan Crawford is just wonderful as usual. So many actors I know by face. Lovely to see Diana Dors. Thank you.
Talk about a strong actress, not even the great Diane Dors, stood a Chance with Joan in their scenes together, their were some of England's finest character actors in this film, and Joan dominated, A fabulous film, will buy on dvd, love her to be my mummie, im a mummies boy,
As Joan Crawford aged, she had the lighting men use different angles and tricks, one was vaseline or light netting across the camera lens, but in this movie, notice how there are shadows of things on her head shots, anyone notice?
Joan crawford is a fine actress ... I can imagine Jessica Lange watched this movie and studied joan performance to prepare for playing Elsa mars on ahs circus
She was so skilled at being an overworked, controlling boss lady in many of her parts. Maybe much like her life in Hollywood and before. Defending herself, making her way. Constantly being confronted by something.?
It's very true that Hollywood always tried to break her or dismiss her when she was aging or simply for being a woman, but as an Aries, she stood her ground and lasted for decades and become iconic and relevant
This film could now serve as a historic document of how circuses used to be: degrading to animals dignity, tho' how they trained them is a mystery that's hopefully vanished into history. This must be Joan Crawford's most unusual performance? Do they still have circuses; I hope not.
I've been a Joan Crawford (and Pepsi) fan for decades. This was the very first time I've the chance to see this movie to the end. Very good, thanks for the upload!!
Even though this was a B film, it was not too bad. Joan still looked good, and she was not campy. Her performance was not embarrassing. She had a great bone structure on her face and photographed well.
AWESOME MOVIE. than you CineClips for this marvelous movie. Love Joan Crawford and Diana Dors. well done CineClips. you are the only one that i know that is hosting this movie. Diania Dors is on top of her game in this movie. Love her to
Oh, thanks so much for uploading this film. Joan Crawford.. Being Joan Crawford 😜 Ended up her glorious film career doing "horror and crazy" films. I always wanted to see this film.. So I will made myself a cup of tea and 'll watch it.. And I bet I' m going to have a great time watching it - Camp films are really entertaining - Thanks so much for uploading this film and.. Could it be possible to uploading her last and"horror"--"TROG"? 🙏
To one of you guys out there that know cars….Was that a red Rambler? I was born in’62. When I was about 4-5 or so, I remember us getting a small car that was blue that looked so similar to that car. My Dad only kept it a couple of years. He is age 90 now and he has some dementia. But, it seems I remember him commenting many years ago that it wasn’t a very good car for some reason.
Time stamps are always appreciated. 😊 Btw, my Dad had a thing for Ramblers. We had about 6 of them, altogether, and they were all green. We even had one with a push-button transmission.

The actor that played Durando was also the ghost that haunted Hell House. They found him dead in a locked room with leg extensions and a glass of fresh wine.!!! 😮
@Ereskigal You know God have us us dominion over all the animals. but you're right about treating them well. they should be free. my German shepherd usually had no leash. HE WAS IN NO CRATE. HE had the run of the house.

When a reporter asked Joan Crawford why Christina was not playing her daughter, Joan snapped "Because she is much too old!" LOL 😆 One of the producers had wanted to cast Christina Crawford, but Joan nixed the idea.

Have you seen the movie Straight Jacket staring Joan ? It was a great movie you’ll have to check it out sometime.

Joan really put her heart and soul into it. Very enjoyable and entertaining movie to watch. Cheers!
Its called acting!
I would have loved to see Joan as an oil heiress clashing with JR Ewing on "Dallas"
Or, going toe to toe with Oil tycoons Alexis Colby and Blake Carrington on “Dynasty”
THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!!!
YES!! That would've been EPIC. I'm not sure ALEXIS or BLAKE could handle JOAN.
Its called royal bay and was with Diane Baker of Straight Jacket and Marnie with Tippi Hedren and Sean Connery.

Decent suspense due to lazy writing on who the eventual killer is and their reasons for committing the murders. It was easy to figure out who it was
Joan Crawford was amazing in this film and Mr hardy reminds me of when I used to go to the circus with my mum and dad and two brother great days
I was thinking that, at one point I could smell the Elephant's.. indeed like you say, great day's

This is a British film that was made in 1967.
