My cousin Sheldon, who played Lew the lusty lab assistant in this film, died last Thursday at the ripe age of 95. He was a husband and father, and though he never really made it as an actor he was so handsome and suave and cool that having him in the family was like being related to James Bond. He was also far more urbane and witty in real life than he was ever allowed to be onscreen. Peace on your journey, Cousin.
Thank you for sharing About Sheldon! I saw this movie as a young kid in the 70’s on a late night scary movie double feature. I thought the movie was really interesting at the time. As an adult it’s great to learn about the people involved in something one remembers from their childhood. Maybe you could help make a Wikipedia page for Sheldon, I noticed there wasn’t one.
Well not for nothing Micheal, but to me Sheldon was a pretty good character actor , I remember him fondly on a episode of "13 demon Street" ... nonetheless I want to add that I admired his work as a actor and may he R.I.P. 🌟 🙏
The patient is told there is a surgeon in England. They get to England and the Dr is speaking with an American accent to the patient who now speaks with an English one. Such continuity!! You have to love it!!.
The over 400 year old head of Nostradamus is taken to a cheesy lab with a doctor brilliant enough to bring it to life. AND Nostradamus can now speak...........In English!! What fun.....😆
AND…….to have access to the coffin, which has a lid that can be slid to one side easily. Lol lol lol. This craziness really made this movie quite entertaining.
One of those flicks that always sticks with you no matter how many sci-fi horror films you watch over the years ... my Mom really liked this movie a great deal ... me ? I love it ... love it so much that I have it on VHS , not to watch but to have it in my collection 👌🏻
I thought oh god this is going to be rubbish...until I watched it and found it most entertaining 😊 Excellent actors. Love George Coulouris always brilliant 😊😊
😂😂😂Equal parts hilarious and bizarre. I love how everyone was just going about their job not thinking that any of this was in the least bit unusual. Great Halloween backdrop movie like Bride of Frankenstein
They resurrected the brain of one of the greatest minds in history, then leave him alone with a raging maniac.... LOL Great film by the way, thank for sharing!
Obviously inspired by the superior "Donovan's Brain," this movie has enough original ideas & just plain weirdness to make it worth watching, for psychotronic film fans. "Donovan's Brain" shows up on UA-cam now & then & there's also a radio adaptation starring Orson Wells that is on UA-cam.
The Doc was totally off his game, if I had a beautiful assistant like her working by my side I would know the color of her eyes, hair, her dress size, shoe size, ring size, waist size and any other size pertaining to her👍🏽😂
Thank you for posting this! I have never seen it, much less heard of it, but with George Coulouris starring and W. Lee Wilder co-directing, I know what I'm going to be watching this Labor Day weekend!! (Actually, I probably won't wait for the weekend, but watch it tonight!) Wilder made many entertaining low-budget films like The Glass Alibi and its remake The Big Bluff, and a unique early noir called The Pretender with Albert Dekker that featured fantastic photography by noir specialist John Alton.
Omg, the ending!I won’t spoil it. Lol. I started laughing. One of those laughs where as you continue there’s no more sounds or just little squeaky noises coming out.😂😂😅
You might be right however there were a few Nostrodamus themed films from Mexico around the same time. One was the Curse of Nostradamus - a vampire classic.
Now how do you use Nostradamus' brain and head after so long? It would be a skull if even that! I know the doctor said he could revive tissue, but really...
1957 London I love the streets with hardly any traffic and the old motors. Today the notorious M25, Congestion charges & all the rest. Did Nostradamus predict that I wonder ? Love the ending. Thanx
Wow 😮, and back in the early 70s this flick was shown so many times , on Chiller Theatre WPIX channel 11 , Creature Features WNEW channel 5 and Fright Night WOR channel 9 ... yep I still have a good memory 😊👍
Gotta love how the Frenchman Nostrodamus immediately starts speaking English when his brain is brought back to life hundreds of years after his death in Paris! 🤣🤣🤣
Now that you mention it, I just realised that every doctor and dentist I've ever had, has been a cigarette smoker like myself. Like, what are the chances?
Wonderful print of W. Lee Wilder's most bizarre film. I've been trying to convince MST3K/Rifftrax/The Mads to do this one for years. It'd be an instant classic.
Well, thanks for the comment it's the best print on the internet. There's actually an mkv of it with serbian subtitles floating around like Nostrodamus' head - this mp4 was derived from it.
OMG! I'm just glad I wasn't drinking a beer during the ending. Beer coming out your nose is painful. This is weird and hilarious. Thank you, I loved it.
Then there was the movie where Ray Milland and Rosey Grier's heads shared the same body...oh yeah, "The Thing with Two Heads" that was the title of the movie.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

You’ve no doubt heard the proposition that if you had a room full of monkees pounding away at typewriters that eventually one of them would write a Shakespeare play. Well, it seems me that the script for this movie was a result of such an experiment long before it resulted in a Shakespeare play.

Anything 50s is my fave and I love them!
The sick old man moves really quick when the chips are down.
Born in 1955, this movie is really freaky. At 67 and a half I have never seen this movie before😮
Wow 😮 , and it was shown so many times back in the early 70s
Never saw it either
You must be 67 and three quarters by now!
Same here!

It wouldn't matter if he spoke in his French as modern French wouldn't understand him.
Great old film and a very nice print

I has forgotten about this movie, saw this on channel 9 in the middle 1960s and enjoyed it.
Yes Randy , me as well except I saw it in the early 70s channel 9 👍😊
Lovely!Better than any 'respectable ' Oscar movie any day .
That's one way to get ahead!
Of all the heads to grab in this crazy mixed up world! Michel de Nostredame!!!!!
Thanks for the film. I'm 65 and watched a lot of late night horror shows, but I've never seen this on any of them. They missed a good one.
Enjoyable...thanks for sharing :)

They resurrected the brain of one of the greatest minds in history, then leave him alone with a raging maniac.... LOL

I'm glad I stumbled on to this! Ha! You gotta love the madness these men suffered from! So realistic!
A surprisingly effective, dark little B film with good acting and a wonderfully bizarre plot. Thank you for posting.
I like how Nostradamus got included in the movie 😊
Why, this might be the greatest film . . . ever . . made . . .
!!
WOW...that ending was raw AF...whew...everybody gets what they deserve!!
Great bandage job on Nostradamus.😊

Bizarre but so so funny. The ending is priceless. Thanks so much for sharing.

The physiology of the head of Nostradamus is so preposterous it's actually interesting.

The patient smoking in the lab. "Winston" takes good like a cigarette should.

What an interesting and odd movie. They packed a lot of drama in such a short movie.
Nadja Regin was a very lovely woman.....she was in a couple of early James Bond movies as well.
Thanks for posting
The filmmakers of " The brain that wouldnt die" (1962) must have been inspired by this movie wich was released 5 years earlier.
Another good Sci-Fi film!😊
I agree@@susanfaulkner2304

Indeed it is 👍

Right there with ya! Haha! Crazy British humour with such twisted tragicomedy
@rogerscottcathey this was an american film. The doctor of course should be an americain working in Europe 😂😂
The roles of Logic and Plausibility, were played by no-one and nobody, respectively.
My sentiments exactly. I was yelling at the screen half the time and then at some point I just started laughing.

Thank you.
Pretty corny...but fun. This is no classic like Frankenstein, but the whole Nostradomis brain within the plot kept me watching til the end!
Entertaining. More so than many modern gorefests these days.
I've seen just about every '50s sci-fi but never even heard of this .. totally cooool climax .. I'm not sure what some found to be funny

and one who smokes in a lab full of chemicals !!!
I think you had to smoke to be a Doctor in those days.
