It looks like a cozy flat. It will be fun to see the three of you in this flat working and living so close to each other. Such a shame Effie has lost her garden. It will be so wonderful for you all when you are at the life stage of moving further out of London into more spacious peaceful countryside.

you could do a partner table in the office! meaning a big table or two desks pushed together so that you face each other, but your monitors kind of act as a barrier between. the only issue is when you have calls and share an office :/ but you'll learn each others schedules very quickly haha
The balcony is so lovely! It looks like about the size of my apartment and I live with my husband, daughter, and 2 cats. I can’t relate to everyone saying this place is so small. 😂 It’s just about priorities!

My sister and brother in law recently adopted a dog and she told me she was worried that he wasn't going to adapt. I told her about your journey with Effie and to give themselves time. He is already doing so much better and we are all so happy to have him in the family!

The apartment is cute, I’m only surprised you didn’t opt for a three bedroom. You’ll do great there making the apartment a cozy little home for the three of you. Effie’s Dad sounds like a great gentleman for the both of you.

I couldn’t have some else go through my stuff to pack it. Gimme the boxes and then move them for me but I’d need to be in control of actually putting my stuff in the boxes 😅
I feel the same way but i also know I’m one to take forever packing for anything. I would start on one box and then take a 3 hour trip down memory lane sorting through old photos. Relinquishing the control sounds beneficial yet tough to initially accept for me

It seems to me, that instead of having meltdowns while moving/ other big event, like I would have, you go and do things that are not move related, but which help you cope. I admire your resourcefulness. As someone who has been married for a long time and who is fond of you, as the first UA-camr I had ever followed during a difficult time, *please forgive me* for offering this bit of advice: Let your fiancé know this characteristic about you, and cultivate total transparency and trust. There's nothing like it, and it holds a marriage and family together. Those small fibs, erode the big trust. slowly slowly. It is so encouraging that Effie took things stoically and patiently, it bodes well, she really does not seem the type who likes big changes. That is such a good sign. My husband and I first lived in central London as newlyweds and I know the cost and challenges that involves. That is one superb apartment! All the best of happiness and contentment in your brilliant new home!

So exciting but I agree, moving is stressful. I’ve never used movers but it look amazing! I’ve moved so many times that what I do now is we put almost everything in the garage except furniture and big stuff and then I move things in and unpack as I go. So it’s not so overwhelming and your aren’t tripping over everything. Obviously everyone doesn’t have a garage but if you ever do, I’d suggest that. Then everything still seems organized as you move in! Enjoy your new place!!

Im so with you on not living in old and dark houses! I’ve had a garden myself and nothing good came of it, my cat kept bringing mice and once a fox decided to hide in our garden and die there. Living in a flat now and couldn’t have been happier!

I understand you wanting to downsize, I also love smaller spaces as it’s easier to clean and harder to hoard stuff! Also totally understand you feeling better in the new location! We recently moved closer to our “city” (smaller rural city in Australia) and I feel so much less isolated and love the freedom of a short drive to get anywhere now!

Moving is highly stressful no matter what, but if you can afford to have someone pack you up, it is definitely the one! Great call! I’ve always hired a cleaner to go in and make sure every surface is spotless before moving in. I’m weird about construction dust or some strangers dirt in cracks and crevices! 😳😬🤢
I’ve moved enough to get a moving priority list going. First, put away freezer and refrigerator items... self explanatory. Then find towels and toiletries for any necessary bathroom activities. Make the bed so you can fall in it whenever necessary! Unpack the kitchen and start the dishwashing process of washing everything that touched dirty packing materials. Everything little in the dishwasher and the big serving pieces, mixing bowls, pots, pans, platters, etc. to hand wash in the sink. (Why waste the time of an entire dishwasher cycle for only a few big items when you can hand wash them in a few minutes? 🤷🏻♀️)
If no other boxes get unpacked and we are exhausted, we can at least have a bite to eat, something to drink, take a shower and go to bed. If needed, the rest can be unpacked another day. But kitchen, bathroom and bed are definitely my priorities!
I’m surprised you managed to fit in so many non-moving activities in the middle of your move, but more power to you! The scheduled massage was brilliant! We all have different wants and desires but it looks like it’s going to be a tight squeeze in a two bedroom apartment. Good luck to you! I hope everything essential fits and they have a generous storage facility in the basement!
Possible solution for your top shelf in the medicine cabinet... make the bottom shelf all short, squatty containers. Adjust the middle shelf lower to give just enough room for the short items below, with a little wiggle room. Put medium sized containers/bottles on the middle shelf and save all the tall stuff for the upper shelf. With the upper shelf now lowered significantly to allow for all the medium sized things below, the actual upper shelf and everything on it is hopefully very easy to reach! 😉☺️😊 Hope that is helpful! 🥰
