That’s so cool. I am going to have to try this! I love your videos.
Thanks for showing your art work and taking the time produce this video. Good knowledge on yet another example of a Skottle stand.
Follow up. Your my inspiration. So far my stand has cost $1680. Had to buy a plasma cutter to make it. Guess I'll have to find some other things to make with it now.
Lol! That’s an expensive Scottie!! Yes I’ve been there but after having bought my welder and plasma I’ve made front & rear bumpers, sliders, off road trailer mods, scottle... the equipment has paid for itself. Enjoy!

nice job on that diy skottle. I opted for the two burner blackstone with the stand that comes with it. I got it for a really great price. I think about $176 with the stand and all at Walmart. But this looks like a very doable option. New subscriber here. Just getting started into overlanding. Been wanting to do it for quite a long time. Just taking me a while to get my vehicle and things together. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Awesome! I am not familiar with the portable blackstones, sounds nice. Enjoy! Best to you in your overland adventures. Thanks for subscribing!
Thank you. Ron Swanson would be proud!
@ 2:00 that was certainly not the manwich I was hoping for, but looks tasty nonetheless 😂
you're a very professional guy, I hope your adventure with our trailer would be great. ^_^
Thank you, Frank. I look forward to family adventures this summer in the trailer.
Sure my friend Taylor, you will do have a wonderful trip with it. ^_^@@NarrowRoadAdventures
You talked me in to it! I started building mine last night.😁
How is it going??
@@NarrowRoadAdventures got it all done a while ago love it!
@@NarrowRoadAdventures it's pretty much all I cook on at camp now
#NorthernMichiganXJs Overland That’s right, I do recall seeing a pic of it. Yes we use it more than expected. 👍
Very nice! I have been wanting to build one of my own!
Thanks! It was a fun project. I know some people use a farm disk as well. Like an original discada.
Great idea! 🍻
Nice work on this sir! Great video also!
Thank you much! Happy trails to you!
You should sell these for half the price...I would buy one.
If I wasn’t so particular and could make them in a timely fashion I would. Haha Thanks!

Narrow Road Adventures I would buy one as well. Make some! ;)
I will never understand the “overpriced gear” factor of overlanding. Love the DIY versions for a fraction of the price. Lol sidenote: try not to wear hoodies with strings when using a grinder. It’ll pull the grinder right up to your neck😬
Yes! I realize that an later quit wearing it. Thank you!

Best diy video yet. What is the size of the metal circle you cut?
Thank you! The outside circle is 13” diameter and the center cut for the burner is 6” diameter. 👍
Cool $80 of parts + $1000 of shop gear. Nice.
Takes tools to make anything. Go visit Harbor Freight.
Great job... I love it👍
Awesome video
I made ours too! Love it! Curious how you store yours when on the road?
We store it in this bag which we can also fit our lid in as well. See the description for a list of some of the items used.

a little fab work
This little fab work definitely worth 3 hundred dollars ;) I am going to buy one after watch this video. Kudos to the craftsmanship, great video!
We this one a lot more than we anticipated and enjoy it. It’s worth $300 or the time building. Enjoy! Dont forget to make a Manwich! 😜
How thick is your metal that you used? I have some 1/8 in laying around and wonder if it will be thick enough.
I can’t recall if it was 1/8 or 3/16. You don’t want it to be heavier than necessary but don’t want it to fold under its weight either.
The $400 for a regular skottle is a little hard to swallow. But not many people have all these tools to manufacture their own. Maybe you can start selling your own version.
With time and materials I would probably have to charge about the same. Thanks for watching.
What size tires do you have and what hight lift do you have?
It is 6” long arm lift with 35s. Thanks for subscribing 👍
I see your motorcycle but no rack or trailer how are you taking it with you
It was my buddy’s cycle which he rode and followed me on our travels.
Oh boy, the classic heart attack sandwich.
Not a cheap alternative. Might be better off with the one for sale.
“Cheap” is all a relative opinion. I’m not a fan of cheap but for things that are a good value. I’d say 1/3 the price of brand name ones is a fair alternative for many.
Would you make me the base?
like just the 13inch disk
I’m gonna build me one just have to rent a welder.
You might be best off just buying a cheaper welder from Harbor Freight if you think you might have other projects you might want to make. And it will take time to learn make good usable welds. Not something you do overnight. Otherwise, you might be money ahead just to buy a scottle. Best to you in any way you decide! Thanks for watching.
Anyone that is paying $350 for scottle is just stupid. I bought a Southwest Disk Discada, that is made in the USA by a Veteran owned company, for $130 and it's AMAZING quality. Making my own would have cost slightly less, but it would not have turned out anywhere near the same quailty.....and this homemade one is vastly less in quality. You get what you pay for here folks.
That sounds like you found a great deal. I am not familiar with those, I will have to check them out. This one I made has gotten a lot of use and have no complaints. However if I could have found a good alternative for $130 and save those hours of labor I would have went that route in a heartbeat. Enjoy!
Was that for the disk and burner?
@@robsonomasold Just the disc. I got the burner for a great deal as well. I simply shopped and shopped and compared everyone's product. Ended up with an amazing disc and what I think is the best burner for these for the price. My burner was under $100.
