This addon is amazing. I always wanted to make something similar even like 10 years ago, but now we have the technology for it. Just imagine using the same tech when creating additional quests for a voice acted game like Skyrim or other RPG. You can add your voice lines now not just the text.

Blizzard, adopt this addon and make it standard in both Retail and Classic WoW. This is incredible.
Blizzard actually send a cease and desist to someone trying something similar with actual voice actors.. it just needs to reach Blizzard and they will shut this down aswell.
Its not that they wouldn't think its cool but they need to protect their IP in some cases.

That’s why this is a bit scary. It isn’t just voice acting of existing dialogue, but it also adds new lines of dialogue and that may be too much of an infringement of Blizzards own IP for them to ignore.
I’ve had it for a bit and it’s really cool. Another thing I like is how you don’t need to stay at the npc to listen, you can grab the quest and listen while you run to the next thing. It will also queue all the dialogues in order of when you picked them up and play them all one by one. I picked up like 10 quests in a row in Darkshore and had like 5 minutes of dialogue to listen to while I headed out of Auberdine.
That sounds more like a very irritating flaw than a good thing...

for everyone else that actually wants to hear the dialogue, this is a massive W. Imagine if you had to sit there and wait to hear the guy finish talking, when you could be half way to your goal.
and dont bring up immersion, kahdgar literally stalks you as a floating head repeating the same shit everytime and blizzard thinks thats acceptable.
Really fucked me up when the corpse of Mankrik's Wife started talking to me tho
Yeah there's some tweaking that can be done. (Like trolls sound British for some reason?) That quest and similar ones should probably use a neutral narrator voice or the voice that your race/gender combo would use.

This is awesome, but i sense a shift in the voice acting industry
it will be a very interesting issue...as you could argue the AI voices have an extreme likeness to the VA's from the warcraft series.
@@chazburger100 Was not thinking about current issues, about the future. You need a high quality sample and you can churn out 1000s of hours of generated voice acting... This could shrink the industry really fast. Every company will jump to an oppurtunity that for about 20% of the voice bugdet they can do a lot more performance. paying for the sample and the license to use it as they see fit.
@@fatherdoctor Still, AI voice acting is a little stiff. You can tell when it's an AI talking.
I think there will still be room for professional voice actors for important scenes and what-not, but for this kind of high quantity voice-over? Oh yeah, AI will be used.

It's worth noting that even without the AI voice, the quest details within Vanilla has always had great writing with lots of character to it.
Having said that, it's an extremely long journey to read through every single quest and absorb what is written, whereas the spoken word is very easy to hear and digest while playing.
I like reading, but if i have to play while reading, then i'm gonna start running in circles because i'm just straight up too dumb to read, absorb knowledge and play/navigate correctly at the same time - having quest text be read out loud while i focus elsewhere makes it a lot easier for me while also improving my enjoyment significantly.
For native speakers you are right. English is not my mother tongue, I have better understanding of a written English than a spoken one.
I really hope this comes to retail eventually
As a Retail Andy I will download this the minute it's released. I kind of hope if he does do an addon for Retail he starts with Dragonflight quests and does the other expansions later on. Retail has so many quests but a majority is playing the current xpac.

The nixxiom night elf voice got me I won’t lie. Best ever.
I swear to god that this addon is actually a dream come true for me. This was always my biggest complaint with questing and the storyline and not really knowing what or exactly why I'm doing anything. But I really love the voicing of everything. I had my doubts about orcs sounds like orcs or undead sounding like undead as I've come to expect hearing them in the game... and the addon just nails it. My one complaint with the addon is that it could be a little more consistent with assigning 1 voice to 1 npc. Like the voice you hear when you hand in a quest and then the voice you hear that reads the next one feels slightly different sometimes, but it's like the same person. It's a small price to pay though for just how awesome the addon is. I'll never play without it and honestly it should just be implemented into the game. Blizzard should have done this a long time ago and it not have to be an addon. They could do it just right but I still appreciate the people that developed this. It's a 10/10 addon and it such a great way to replay the game how I always envisioned it.
I hope this comes to Retail. With this & dragon riding in all world zones, I would go for Loremaster

Started Hardcore yesterday and also installed the addon. Despite having playing Vanilla and Classic, this now has yet to be the most immersed ecpierence of old WoW I ever had.

Man I gotta get this omg, I hope it will come out for classic sometime though.
My main issue was that the AI voices are different from the voice clips from the game. It would be a lot more engaging if they could make the AI voice resemble what's already in the game sound files.
Indeed & on this video the Nightelf's voice is just completely 'out of character' 🙃 Ever since August 6005 (2005 by that oldest storybook) i started Azeroth MMo adventures (Azeroth Rts times 10 years before via Warcraft Orcs vs Humans) i've enjoyed reading through the task log. I haven't never used gameplay simplifying addon like questie & never will. Azeroth is love ^^ 🙂
As someone who has blurry vision plus a lazy eye, reading lots of text is very difficult. So here's to hoping it sticks around but not holding my breath now but still gonna enjoy it while it's around for now.
When I read the title of the video I thought this should be about VoiceOver and :-) I was right. This addon is a real game changer for me as I am dyslexic but still want to know about the quest but struggle with longer texts. I whish it would also read out books in game. Some NPCs are not getting a voice over, e.g. children but this might change with updates in the future.

I've already been using this awesome addon for my first ever hardcore classic run, and I'm loving it. I started also using Immersion, and together they are pretty dang awesome.
The only criticism I have is that the dwarves would really benefit from having a different voice. But, it's understandable if there are no scottish accent voices available to choose from, lol.
Not only is this a good addition to WoW classic.
But also showcases how voiceacting in other games can be added easily and with no cost

I remember bellular tried to do this a few years back (I think he even hired voice actors and such) and blizzard put a stop to it….I wonder why it’s okay to do it now 😮but man I’m so pumped to try it 😊
Having AI do VO is alot different than paying people to work on a project you have bo rights to mess with.
You can't just outright hire people to make addons whether it is for fun or not as you have no legal claim to the base game

It's just mindblowing that it's an add-on, and Blizzard, even after such a success and after so many years didn't even bother doing anything like that.

I figured something like that was bound to happen after hearing all those "This entire city must be purged" memes voiced like 99% perfectly by Arthas AI. Hopefully there'll be a retail version too, cuz I'd love to make a pure lore character and just take my time and actually absorb and engage with the quest line stories throughout whole WoW.

【Light Heads Finland】This is a funny mod, i do not like AI made pics, music etc but when blizz has not provided real actor voices i went with the addon and even if i usually listen to music just seeing the animated head talk and hear some sentences i like it since it gives the game little bit life. I like to occasionally do my own voice acting for Classic WoW quests for UA-cam videos but the a.i. does such a good job matching the voice with ther character. I think I'll make some videos of me trying to voice act the same quest right after the a.i. to see who does it better lol
wow this was incredible. this Addon here made me want to start playing wow classic again.
this is pretty bad that blizzard hasn't tried to do this, this should have been done in the game a long time ago because there are quite a few people with dyslexia who play wowclassic and wowretail. and this has come to help get more people to like the game and get the whole story.
currently playing hardcore classic and thats the best what could happen to the game. i listen to all the quest which i have done so many times. dwarf sound like dwarfs and gnomes like gnomes. currently playing a night elf but i'mg going to try out every other race to hear how they all sound.
It would be absolutely amazing to have this for all expansions. I was never one for reading Quest texts and this would literally make me actually level from start again to finish and listening to all the stories.
its a shame i'd have to be on a private server to enjoy this.
i just cant justify losing all my progress on retail, just go play a 20 year old version of the game, get to the point of the next expansion only for there to be no voices for it and be right back to retail.
idk. being limited to only private servers makes this kind of dead in the water, and once Blizzard catches wind of this itll be shut down immediately because it puts their entire company to shame.
@@Kugrox I am not sure I am following. I was speaking about implementing this for retail, not on a private server, nor classic. I play retail and I'd love to level up from Level 1 on an Alt with this addon. So what progress loss are we talking about?
oh man i hope this comes out for the retail version as well at some point. many quests are voiced nowdays but still just a small fraction.

i love this addon. been playing since vanilla and this addon just gives another vide to a relaxed playstyle while leveling in any version of the game.
Wow that thumb was misleading, making me think you had an addon that horde and alliance could understand and talk to each other....
There are some funny moments with this addon.
For example, King Varian Wrynn has female voice, some gnomes change from gnome to human voice between quests, and all dwarves shout at you, which is hilarious.

I noticed only one issue here. The color of the voices used is reminding me of some other games. Some are good but some are not “signature” WoW tbh. Still amazing tho,but Im sure it can be curated a bit to fit the WoW vibe even better.

I don't really see how they can give a C&D if all it is is a text-to-speech program. They didn't have actors perform dialogue. It's just a computer program interpreting text.
doubt it, blizz only care if people are getting payed and making money off their IP ... as in voice actors getting payed to read game text. Seens this is AI and no ones making money, they wont do a thing no doubt.
