First of all, why would they make a sequal that requires work when they can milk you with store mounts and you keep buying it. Second the voice acting alone would cost millions to voice all quests. Def wont happen.
@@DrRhyhm LOL, look past your hatred of the company for one minute and be realistic. The fact of the matter is, Dragonflight didn't sell well and subscriptions are way down. People shit on store mounts all the time, but those are one time purchases that are NOT bought enough to sustain the game completely. WoW is a bloated game at this point and the new player experience is horrific, despite their efforts to revamp it. I'm sure they're going to try a world revamp next, which won't work great, and then we'll see what happens next. Eventually, WoW will be too old and bloated to get anybody to play it whatsoever. It's like a crack addict who doesn't care what the crack does to them or anyone else, they just want their crack. I'm on Nyctermoon, a AI companion server and just had a coversation with the AI healer, tank and Mage for 2 hours lol. They helped me find out the optimal path for leveling, where to go to skill up my tailoring, etc. lol. Crazy times we live in. Oh and yes, it uses this mod as well.
This is what makes the game extremely replayable. Super refreshing and gives the game an entirely different atmosphere. The voice acting adds urgency and personality to the quests. Just from a single player stand point. The final chef's kiss would be if we could do group quests, dungeons and raids with AI controlled bots so that we could fully immerse ourselves into the world without the hurry and hassle of dealing with actual human beings. If blizz did that then it would totally revive the game for me and I would play the shit out of it. At my own pace and in my own time and still be able to enjoy 100% of the content.
This is crazy, this is better than i've ever dreamt of, i mean reading all of the quest is awfully boring, but now it give them a life and it's so freaking great ! tanks for the discovery .
This is the kinda utility I'd expect from Chatgpt. If a game developer does it right, they could train the NPCs to be spoken to and respond to the player. Is it gonna take away work from the voice actors? No way. You still need to hire voice actors to train the algorithm so that the studio can copyright that character's assets. And there will always be lines of dialogue that you need trained voice actors to say with more _nuance_ than a pure-algorithm chatbot is capable of. What this can do is free up a developer's time so that they're able to do _more_ with the dialogue than they could before. No more time wasted making endless dialogue trees for all the fluff. More time for crafting the important dialogue, crafting the overall personality of the bot, and adding easter eggs if you talk to the NPCs long enough or ask them the right questions. Just think of how interesting Skyrim would be if the NPCs said more than three lines of dialogue... or if they had been able to hire more than three friggin voice actors.
I would love to go back and play classic now with these voice overs, it would make the game so much more immersive and means I'd actually want to listen to the back story of quests.
I've been playing on a RP server for several years and looking at this features, I thought it would be really cool to expand the functionality of the addon to voice the lines of your own character written in the chat. I think it would breathe new life into roleplaying on RP servers
This has inspired me to go back and play Classic. I've played WoW off and on since 2005, and the only quests I remember actually reading where all in Duskwood. The story of Mor'Ladim and Dusty Crab Cakes ("I know it's a bit disgusting, but the cakes have a nice, tangy flavor...") are what come to mind first!
Imagine how much joy this mod must bring to the people who wrote these quests, which now have new life breathed into them like never before.

I hope we see a sequel to WoW with voice acting for everybody, one day.
I hope wow dies. It set back mmorpgs for decades. Literally the worst mmo game.
@@Earth2McKay Better yet, make WoW open source, so p-servers can thrive
@@TTMS-Khaz-kun I'll concur with that. P servers are awesome for any/most mmo games. Especially grindy Korean games.
I would hope they do something similar to PoE 2 instead of just deleting the entirety of the game along with everyones characters, but we will see. There's no way to know for sure what will happen.
Absolutely the BEST addon !! Already donated to the dev !!
Definitely downloading it once SoM2 opens and I start playing Classic again. Hope Blizz does not ban it.
It should not get banned to be honest.
Does not cause any hard, only enhances the experience.
But yet again, it's blizz we're talking about.
I don't see why they'd ban it, it's role is similar to the "Storyline" addon which worked on classic too
@@Frostadamus It's likely to be canned because of IP law reasons. When you are voicing these quests in this manner you are taking their established work and reproducing it. You can't do that, that's why similar Voice Acted Quest addons have all been told to stop by Blizzard.
@Greg Peterson Fresh realms, fresh economy, SOM has changes classic era doesn't have, it hasn't been on Naxx for 4 years, higher player base, progression, did you even try to think?
@Greg Peterson I think I like the crazy feeling when server starts.
Don't get me wrong, I know about the revival of Era, hell even have 45+ char on Buccaneers, but fresh is fresh :-) at least for me
Yeah this is just insanity. I am thinking about getting back into WOW just because of this. Adds so much to the game.
Super cool
Its amazing!! I try to read my quests but i get super tired fast bc of my eye problems, so this is amazing!
I would love to see it cover more and more expansions! its so cool!
hopefully it comes to retail too.
Voiceover for everything is like the biggest reason i salute SWTOR for the effort they did. Always wished WoW had it too for a better immersion
fingers crossed. Even though retail has substantially more voice acting, it's voice acting for the generic quests that would be so fantastic
It's not coming for a while simply due to legal reasons. Unless they decide to innovate and pay voice actors royalties for their likeness being used by AI, they're only going to get sued!
@@plebmcpleb5761 Yea, a lot of people won't like it, but it is what needs to happen. I just watched an Asmongold video a couple weeks ago where an AI voiced an entire video on PoE2, of course using someone's "likeliness".
People getting their jobs taken away from them is something that confusingly people won't care about until shits really hit the fan.
It's like a crack addict who doesn't care what the crack does to them or anyone else, they just want their crack. Sure sign of a child who hasn't developed their prefrontal cortex, their executive functions, their priorities and critical thinking. Thoughts of a child.
DW, you'll grow up. But in the meantime, leave the big decisions to the adults and sit down and shut the fuck up sometimes.
This is actually game changing
the next step towards classic+ brought to you by addon makers, love it
Classic+ plus exist, its call TBC and it was way better than vanilla.
@@WarbossFraka no, tbc is just tbc
@@WarbossFraka TBC, the instance simulator?
@@Lizard1582 I mean the game is about raids/dungeons. You say that like you don't spend 90% of your playtime in them, even in vanilla.
@@issolol TBC has literally everything people want out of Classic+ and more.
This is crazy, this is better than i've ever dreamt of, i mean reading all of the quest is awfully boring, but now it give them a life and it's so freaking great ! tanks for the discovery .
Yo Blizzard should look into adding this into the game as a Standard Feature. Sure would make questing alot better
OMG THIS IS AMAZING! i wish it was like this 30 years ago
I actually care about the quests now.
Thats the only addon that can make me play with game sounds on honestly
This isn't chatgpt. Creator of this youtube channel seems to just use it as clickbait/buzzword. The voice is generated by ElevenLabs.
I would love to go back and play classic now with these voice overs, it would make the game so much more immersive and means I'd actually want to listen to the back story of quests.
AI technology is advancing scarely fast.....
This looks incredible! Very exciting news!
Now we need a vanilla version ;)
this is for vanilla
@@Narque No it's coded for Classic and not Vanilla
This makes me want to level a new character and do every single quest in the game.
The addon was removed x.x
Yea I just wanted to download it, but its gone :(
@@Tomichika same :(
I've been playing on a RP server for several years and looking at this features, I thought it would be really cool to expand the functionality of the addon to voice the lines of your own character written in the chat. I think it would breathe new life into roleplaying on RP servers
Legit
Fitting as it has the exact cadence of the tutorial voice in the prologue for Wc3.
this is the proper way of Using and AI Good work Respect
whoa!! the dialog all sounds really good, and the fact that it IS the original classic voices is amazing.
Ok this is damn cool! Future tech, finally! =D
Yeah. retail needs this.
This has inspired me to go back and play Classic. I've played WoW off and on since 2005, and the only quests I remember actually reading where all in Duskwood. The story of Mor'Ladim and Dusty Crab Cakes ("I know it's a bit disgusting, but the cakes have a nice, tangy flavor...") are what come to mind first!
immediatly downloaded, ty for the recommendation!
Does this addon work for vanilla?
The undead voice is hella smooth, even if it doesn't sound exactly like the one in the game.
