This Welsh lullaby is so beautiful. The sweetness, the softness and the harmony of the song thoroughly expresses the love of the mother for her child. The tiny little chuckle as the mother sees the baby smiling while sleeping is precious. Of course, the baby could be smiling at hearing its mother's voice, but she gives credit for the child's smile to the Angels smiling at her baby and protecting her baby. What a lovely song. The cute Angels in the background add so much to this song. Like the baby, I can't help but smile when I see them. Great performance Joshua! Billie Fazakerly Harrison
The words look so odd to the English speaker until you understand that it is completely phonetic, and you just pronounce every letter. Each letter (or double letter) has a sound, and most of them are similar to English phonemes. Practice the sounds and respect their uniqueness-especially the double L (ll) with tongue to the roof of the mouth and air escaping the sides of the mouth-and you can get it! I am glad my admittedly humble rendition of this lovely melody was of some assistance. Happy lullaby-ing :)
You made an excellent chouce with this one! It is very beautiful. I have a little cat that I rescued a few years back. She is very timid and tends to avoid people. But she came to me when I played this and climbed up beside me. She immediately went to sleep. I guess she is as big a fan of your sweet voice as I.
*A powerful sorcerer finds an orphaned baby in a house that was burned by the enemy and decides to adopt them and raise them as his own. This song plays in the background as he's traveling with the baby while smiling at them.*
I know a bit of a number of them, but I studied this one phonetically and via a studied translation, so that I could sing it with feeling and meaning. :)
To be honest, I chose a contrived key, so that I could go both high and low. Normally one would just stay in one key rather than jump octaves back and forth. :)
@@lavapanther it was a bit high for us but I could sing along with all of this (wide ranging alto here) the key we had made a lot of us nervous, I could just about hit the top note but only the sopranos were really comfortable up there.
Nice. This would be perfect for a wide range alto! I would have one group sing it low and one high and one find a harmony, either static, like a major third, or dynamic, to blend and give it some life. :)
@@lavapanther that sounds good. Not sure how easily the pianist can transpose off the cuff, if you could remember the key it might give them something to aim for before next session. My range is c2-a5 (not comfortably lol). If you haven't before check out si hei lwli mabi it's beautiful especially if you sing in harmony and mix them together and my fave is Ar Lan Mor
I never think in key, I sort of exist in this land of relative pitch and intuitive emotional singing :( I am sure the pianist can guess the key, however. Thank you for the recommendations, sorry I could not be more musically helpful :(

I love this song, and thank you so much for doing this, it helped me learn the pronunciation.

Of all the versions this is the one that makes it calm and feel like I can sing it in Welsh. So thanks. In these times I need this song so very much.
Thank you for listening. I am glad this affected you in the way it did. :)

Nice. Is that from a story or a rpg campaign?
@@lavapanther I just made it up.
It is a lovely imagined moment in time.

✨thank you!!!💚✌🏼
thank you :)
I always thought that this song was Chinese or Japanese’s because of the context in empire of the sun. Just shows how wrong can be.
Now that you mention it, it does have a Chinese quality to it.
We are learning this in choir. What key is it sang in? After a little taster last week our lwader.ia transposing it down
