This video is about the magic of a place called Planet Ireland.
Planet Ireland is the name of the show's encore number. But it's also the name of the setting in which the show takes place. And the world of Planet Ireland is a living, breathing fantasy land, filled with heroes, villains, temptresses, clans, and realms yet undiscovered.
This is the story of an artist who took an obscure folk dance, created a new art form and genre of entertainment out of it, had it taken away from him, and fought back against impossible odds to even greater success.
It's the story of a timeless drama, told through dance, about good versus evil and love versus lust -- a story that came from the mind of an "uneducated" blue-collar construction worker.
It's the story of literally thousands of artists, performers and crew alike, whose adventures and memories all make up the tapestry of this saga, from the handpicked 1996 OG Troupe dream team to the New Generation of today.

I am bawling my eyes out. Proud to say I was there for the opening night of LOTD in London 25 years ago, was completely blown away and have been obsessed ever since. It's so hard to explain what Michael Flatley represented to young Irish people in those days. He was confident, he was sexy, he was ambitious, he was mind-blowingly talented, he was fiercely proud of his Irish heritage and he brought what many thought was a dying art-form to the attention of the world. Happy Anniversary to LOTD - thank you for the memories.

I've been a Michael Flatley fan since 1994 when he was on the eurovision song contest, as was instantly impressed and became a fan over night, I took up Irish dancing because of him, I was lucky enough to see him and the original cast live at Wembley arena during their 21 day long run, I have his autograph that my dad got for me. So I've been a fan for 27 years and I'm still a huge fan.
First time I watched Michael Flatley and Jean Butler at interval performance act at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest. I was in shock and hipnotized against such a great music and dance that I never been heard or watched in my life before.
I love Michael Flatley and his team of dancers so much. I watched all performances Riverdance: The Show, Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames, Celtic Tiger.
I am very happy to live with them in the same time of million years of human history!

We saw him a few times and it was the best ever. Who ever did the mix was great too. The sound effects were awesome. There is only one Michael Flatley. I'm glad he followed his dream.
