    After I enjoyed using their massage gun so much, of course I wanted to review something new that HYDRAGUN released!
    The HeatPulse Knee Massager is almost exactly what it sounds like. A knee wrap with built in electrical heating that includes vibration for a combo heat/massage of the knee.
    My full thoughts are obviously laid out in the video above, but I enjoyed my time with the HeatPulse! It does a nice job of delivering specific heat and vibration just below the kneecap to the joint line of the knee. If this is an area of pain, this combination can be really nice for soothing that discomfort and allowing a quicker return to activity or recovery post-exercise.
    New videos go up on Mondays (usually), so if you're new around here click the link to subscribe to the channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss anything new!

    So why watch A Physio Named Jonah?
    For free videos about the human body, injuries, rehabilitation, the world of Physiotherapy, and whatever other shenanigans comes along. Maybe you can learn something new and not feel like you're stuck in a classroom waiting for the bell to ring.
    A Physio Named Jonah is a channel created by, well, exactly who you think. The channel features primarily Physiotherapy based topics, or things that it would make sense for a Physical Therapist to weigh in on. The goal is to make these often sterile topics interesting and easily accessible to anyone with a few laughs (or forced exhales from your nose if you're alone) along the way.
    Jonah is a Canadian Physiotherapist who works with a primarily outpatient orthopaedic population at a clinic in Sudbury, Ontario. He completed his Master's of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto, with his Bachelors of Sciences specialized in Human Kinetics coming from The University of Ottawa. He is also considered by his parents, fiancee and dogs to be a pretty cool guy.

    Hey! Used your affliliated code and got ~$25 AUD off. It was better than the christmas offer they had lol!
    Hopefully the product helps me with my ACL/meniscus tear. Tried other massagers but they never last long. I am assuming if hydragun provides 1.5 years warranty, the product would last a bit longer than a month.
    VIbration therapy (not from hydragun) definitely helped me with the post trauma pain. Personally I can confirm that vibration with heat is better than air compression in improving blood flow. I've tried IR to penetrate into tissues, but was a bit worried about long term use and tissue damage associated with IR.
    I will let you know how it goes with non-surgical management of complete acl & meniscus tear with physio and the massager of course!
    Merry christmas!

      Thanks for your comment Karthik, glad to hear the code helped make it an even better deal than the Christmas deal! Definitely hoping the product can withstand some more prolonged usage than others you've tried as well.
      Please keep me updated on how it goes as you're rehabbing through the ACL/meniscus tear. I wish you the absolute best of luck and persistence as you embark on your rehab journey!

    I appreciate the review, nicely done. Will try using your affiliate link, thanks man.
    The code isn't accepted - at least in my case where someone is only ordering a single unit perhaps? Wanted to get you paid for helping out, that is again.

    Hi is this helpful for patellofemoral pain syndrome?

    • @aphysionamedjonah
      @aphysionamedjonah  Рік тому

      Hey! It could be, depending on the type of patellofemoral pain. I find patients experience PFPS differently, and if your pain is primarily below the kneecap then the heat/vibrations here would be well targeted. If your pain is more above the kneecap/in the quad, then this may not be the most targeted for what you need. Hope this helps!

    Hello, is this helpful for a MCL tear recovery?

    • @aphysionamedjonah
      @aphysionamedjonah  Рік тому +2

      Great question!
      Because of the location of the MCL on the inside of the knee (closest to your opposite knee), the Heatpulse is not necessarily something I would be reaching for. The heat and therapeutic vibrations are primarily targeted just below the patella in the front of the knee, meaning that they wouldn't be directed very specifically to the area that was injured.
      With that said, every knee injury is different, so it's difficult to say for everyone. The Heatpulse could be helpful in MCL recovery if there was associated anterior knee pain below the kneecap that was posing a barrier to rehab exercises/activities. For a stereotypical MCL tear with pain/swelling at the medial (inside) component of the knee though, I would be looking for a product/technique that was more directed to that part of the knee.
      Let me know if this is helpful and if you have any more questions :)

      @@aphysionamedjonah Thank you very much! This was what I gathered from your video and just asked for clarification.
      Is there anything in the market nowadays that you can recommend that specifically target that part of the knee? Mine is just your "stereotypical MCL tear".

    The strap is too short to go around for plus size people.

    • @aphysionamedjonah
      @aphysionamedjonah  Рік тому

      I agree, the strap definitely has a limited amount of circumference to it. When I brought this up to HYDRAGUN they mentioned using the additional strap (like for setting it up on the shoulder) to add circumference around the knee.
      This may help for one strap, but possibly not the other. Try it out if you have one and let me know if that helps. Thank you for sharing your experience, user reviews are always helpful!
