Meta-Vision definitely did NOT ruin Blue Lock. Whilst I agree on Isagi moving into OP territory, I dont think it's his Meta-Vision that's causing it. It's his ego.
Blue Lock is a series about EGO! Ego (self-perception/ protagonism whatever you call it) is the basis of every player evolution (whether it's acquiring skills, abilities etc). In every match we've watched, that has been the deciding factor in terms of results.
So, with that in mind, it's easy to see why Isagi's ego makes BL kinda predictable. Isagi's ego can't be "killed" because he's not afraid of dying. He'll shred himself and rebuild himself as many times as it takes, and, combined with his desire to become the best, his ego is basically unkillable.
We've seen players "die" and come back stronger and almost invincible (specifically Rin and Barou), but the only reason they don't feel as OP is that they're not the protagonist. Being side characters already caps their invincibility (Rin will probably beat Sae one day and Barou might get a Balon d'Or but all their rivalries will probably end up being about chasing Isagi). On the other hand, if Isagi beats them, the plot will put another obstacle for him to continue growing stronger (I mean, he's gotten Nagi, Rin, Sae, Shidou, now it's Kaiser). And because, like a shonen manga protagonist, Isagi won't die (suffer maybe, but not die), he'll keep gaining skills. There's a possibility things will get predictable (if they continue on the route they're going) unless they actually kill Isagi. If Kaiser's proposed new weapon works and PXG actually win, another arc might open up, but that's unlikely.
In short, Isagi's Meta-Vision keeps getting stronger because Isagi keeps getting challenged. It's those protagonist benefits kicking in, man's gotta drive the plot.
Everyone else's Meta-Vision won't improve because they aren't really getting challenged. Reo's Meta-Vision will develop slower because he's always hoarding skills and he can't use most skills at their best anyway. Niko and Aiku are already a Meta-Vision tag team backed by the best defender in the NEL and Aryu, so obviously it won't grow at the rate Isagi's is. None of them are challenging/are being challenged by Kaiser in IQ games. Unless they cap Isagi's "adaptability"/plot necessity, he'll win against any new skill they throw at him. That's why JJK keeps killing people 😂

People just don’t want Isagi to cook. Nagi literally learning soccer mid game is fine but Isagi a soccer nut who was also to be a prodigy of some sort is too much. I don’t know we see how hard he trains to get his stats up. Rin 1v11 is fine but Isagi reading the field is OP? Come on make sense.

It’s hard not to include something like metavision in sports anime cuz in RL is just peripheric vision + sport IQ, even in shows like Kuroko no Basket and Ao Ashi have some ability like that, but even so I like that in Blue Lock not only did Isagi (MC) have this but other players too, ironically is so much realistic that a bunch of players have this that just one or two like in other series, cuz in the real world the big majority of pros have this skill at some level.

These 2 points at 5:19 and 5:28. I wanna talk about em. I think it just makes sense why Isagi is evolving so fast to where he's competing with the world's best and why his metavision is overpowered. It all comes down to his experience with metavision and the environment Isagi is forced into and how he's been learning football during the NEL. I wanna start with why it makes sense his metavision has been outclassing all other players so far, save Snuffy. As far back as the 3rd selection, Isagi actually unlocked meta-vision for the very first time in a panel where you can see the exact same puzzle piece metavision eyes on him. So you could argue that Isagi has had some time with it even if he wasn't using it consciously and didn't understand it up until NEL, but that's why I think it makes sense that he's so good with it. Isagi's whole shtick has been about spatial awareness and using his eyes so he's basically already built a good foundation for himself on metavision. That's why when he witnessed Kaiser using it and finally cracked the code to metavision and started to fully understand it, that he was able to be so proficient with it. Once you've laid good groundwork for something, understanding it fully is when you can start to maximize it. It's like practicing a technique first and then the fundamentals of that technique. You'd understand things intuitively. That's what Isagi has been doing.
As to why he's been evolving so fast, it's pretty much been shoved into our faces on why. Isagi has been dealing with fighting against entire teams and his very own team in a world class setting. The only true ally that he has on the field is Kurona, who always links up with him. I wouldn't count Hiyori completely because now he's willing to discard Isagi and link up with someone else if they prove to be better, and I'm not entirely convinced yet on Raichi but he has helped Isagi still. Most of Isagi's teammates want to devour Isagi and sabotage him. Kaiser, Ness, Kunigami, the other BM teammates who really only try to assist Kaiser. So Isagi has been constantly pushed to his limit time and time again because it's basically him and Kurona against everyone else. He's forced to think faster, come up with solutions quickly to counter his opponents, take into account how both his team and the opponents will respond and whether or not that'll be good for him. A lot goes through the dude's head and he's being forced to process and execute plays at a fast rate to be able to keep up because he has no team to support him.
But the main reason Isagi evolves to rapidly is because of how much he uses this situation to his advantage. There was this video I saw talking about Isagi dethroning Kaiser, and the commentator made an extremely good observation. Isagi has been using ALL of the masters' philosophies and learning from them. Lavhino's philosophy of creativity, copying other strong dudes and then putting your own spin on it. That's practically what Isagi did with Kaiser's metavision + Kaiser impact formula and with the lefty shot, copying Kunigami and Noa's ambidexterity, but using the lefty shot as a secondary weapon. Next, Chris' philosophy of voicing your ideals and training a body to hold those ideals. He did this during manshine, when Noa linked up with him and asked him what his goal was and Isagi voiced that it was to destroy Kaiser. He couldn't fully do it that match, which is why he trained so hard for Ubers in order to have a body that could host that ideal, and he did it, he crushed Kaiser, not directly 1 on 1, but he achieved the overall goal of scoring more than him. Then Noa's philosophy of logical thinking and discarding irrationality. Isagi uses this to his biggest advantage through his teammates. Isagi drills into his head that he can't have childish and fantasy-like thoughts on the field and has to make plays that are logical and executable, but he also uses that to assist himself in his own goals. He uses this philosophy to be a team player. He assists his teammates by drawing out their full potential, sending them into flow and then devouring them for the sake of his goal, which in term benefits both him and whoever he links up with (Kurona, hiyori, raichi, gagamaru, kunigami). If not for Isagi, people like hiyori, kunigami, or raichi wouldnt have the bids they do now and vice versa. So I'm thinking Isagi's going to use Snuffy and Loki's philosophies by the end of NEL. I'm not sure how, but that's how the writing for Isagi has been going so far. All of this information stacked together builds the argument on why it makes sense that Isagi is evolving the way he is and why he's so good right now.

Isagi isn't op yet. What powerful about Isagi is his play making skill. His meta vision can be added some kind of factor (like in manshine when isagi adding protagonism in his meta vision). And about him predicting Snuffy plan is that every plan snuffy create, the executor of the final step is ALWAYS Barou. That is why Isagi can predict Snuffy plan. But until Isagi doesn't need anybody else that can see the field as his to be his partner, I won't say isagi is powerful

The author could've built on the idea of other players who don't have meta vision focusing their attention on helping or going against Isagi. For example in the U-20 Arc Barou didn't use a special eye ability he was just "Isagi hunting". If Isagi used Raichi to "Barou hunt" Isagi wouldn't be as overpowered.

Tbh the defensive part of isagi getting all the stops is not unrealistic cuz if u look at the chapters all the munchen defenders have their own assignments. That's how football goes in their red zone tracking players and marking them man on like Bastard has been defending is important, so Isagi just had to move according to the unmarked man. Metavision is just there for defensive identification, so the bastard defenders are defending they are not the main characters so they don't get the focus but if u look they are always tracking unmarked players and sticking to their assignments as it should be.

For me its fine, isagi pre mv could barely keep up with the others. He lacked in everything except vision and iq. But even with those he could keep up and even be the center of a match. The second selection perfectly shows how strong isagi is in general. With his iq and vision he was able to dominate during the 3v3 against reo/chigiri/kuni, and almost crushed someone like barous ego. Then in the 4v4 he was pretty much the only one who could keep up with rin, him and rin were controlling the match by out reading eachother.
The earlier selections were basically him just using like a lvl 1 metavision in a way, which makes sense why its so strong for isagi specifically, it directly ties into his playstyle. Others who have it don’t necessarily need it but it helps support what they do but isagi has always relied on his eyes and iq to play in general so it makes sense when he gets like the ultimate powerup for them he’s elevated to a much higher lvl. Theres a reason why when he figured it out he had the thought that he could possibly beat anybody. Even noa saying it could lead isagi to him. Mv is essential to isagi while someone like rin or kaiser could still be an incredible player without it like barou.

The entire “Isagi is OP” narrative is so insane to me. The Japanese government has spent billions to produce a world-class striker from their top 300 U-20 players. Of those 300 Isagi was the first one running towards to doors to start the competition. He’s not going to suck THIS far into training. His elite spacial awareness was his only tool. So of course his meta vision is going to out scale others. He’s inches away from from being the top U-20 player in all of Japan. They spent all that money to put him there. Is his supposed to suck? Meta vision was necessary, it's a real life skill in the world of sports and needed to be explored so it did not ruin blue lock. Meta vision is a natural progression of being able to predict a players movement and actions based on who they are in relation to everything around them at a given point, that being said I feel like isagi has grown drastically, which makes sense as he's the mc, but it can be argued that he grew too much too quickly which I can understand that and do somewhat agree with. Where isagis is at now could've been the climax of if the nel, instead we are going into the last game with a seemingly overpowered isagi. I do want isagi to lose next game as he should've against ubers and how hyped their defense was which would perfectly lead into a win against rin, but rin needs to win against isagi as the series will lose the predictability allegations

I think metavision will no longer seem OP when characters start playing professionally. We have to consider that of all the professional players we've seen so far, only Snuffy had metavision, and even though he's considered the best player in the world, that doesn't change the fact that even characters without metavision can stand out in the professional scene. Personally, I believe metavision will become a nearly common skill in Blue Lock, and even those who don't possess it will at least learn how to deal with players who do. A good example is Noa, since even without metavision, he managed to keep up with Snuffy and Ubers. What made it difficult for Noa was that he could only rely on Isagi and Kaiser, who understood how someone with metavision thinks.

@@commander0343 I just told you the issue, why is he playing better defense than defenders on both teams? Thats stupid thats not football. Not only does he play box to box every possession he is always successful and suffers no repercussions from doing it he doesn’t get tired and he recovers stupidly fast which is unrealistic in a football sense.

It ruined manga a little bit because it was overestimated.

Y’all just love to hate on isagi like I just watched season 1 over again yesterday & bro was literally garbage af but still had the same ability to “smell goals” since ep 2 like y’all steady hate on his progress but glaze barou & rin like bruh the man been shit since the beginning & his few little feats is just hated on . Honestly don’t know why y’all even read this manga , this is a fictional story we don’t need to wait 20yrs for the MC to be powerful like luffy . Trash video , trash opinion & I actually thought you was my fav UA-camr but nah y’all haters . Straight up

Soon, Isagi will be able to combo slurs with meta-vision in the PXG match and call Chapi the N-Word to stupefy him and gain an advantage
But srsly, someone needs to tone down this dude, the series just feels predictable af now and the hyped Uber-defense made my future look brighter than them by the end of the match.
One thing is sure though; Isagi fans live off the same copium as Isagi haters, both don't know how to fucking read and will debate with you like they own the manga directory.
