Something else about the Touka-eats-food thing: In TG, I can only think of 3 ghouls who were ever shown eating human food (4 if yiu count Kaneki's crying) Yoshimura when he teaches Kaneki to fake it, Nishiki when he's walking with Kaneki and Hide, and Touka. Between these three, Touka was the only one who did it in large amounts and unnecessarily (that time Yoriko gave her stew and she ate it all at home.) Now, in this situation, Touka is eating a lot of human food by herself again, it was given to her by Nishiki, and was inspired by Yoshimura's story, and for Kaneki's child.
I think Ishida has been playing this for a lot longer than we realize.

I'd srsly be so pissed if Touka really end up dying in this series. Like, we've been through so much together with her, along with Kaneki too. And if she just dies from being pregnant..... I'd be so upset and probably cry an entire river :'(

She has so many potential death flags on her head that she is the character who's most likely to kick the bucket at the moment. The parellel with Yoshimura's wife doesn't stray far from this either, since we know what happened to her after she gave birth to Eto. Also, being a mother is almost a death sentence in TG : Kaneki, Touka, Eto, Akira, Seidou, Hinami.. their mothers have all hopped the twig.
The only one who fucked the system is Nishki, by staying away from Kimi.

1. I'm pretty sure Kaneki has no idea about pregnancy. When Touka was asking him about Eto it looked like one of their regular late night talks and Kaneki looked as clueless as ever. Not to mention Touka is here suffering absolutely alone in every sense of the word, physically and emotionally. Can't imagine Kaneki leaving her alone like this if he knew.
2. I feel that Kou planned to get caught, or at least wasn't much against it. His main mission was delivering the letter and he needed to get close to the King and if he had to be captured for it, then by his own words "yeah, whatever".

I will feel bad if the baby dies but I feel more bad because Touka is suffering, if she has to keep on doing that (if she lasts) for nine months it will take a big toll on her body, and its more difficult in toukas case than ukina since kaneki is half human and half ghoul, we don't know whether the baby is more human than ghoul and vice versa. And not to be a downer but Touka can definitely not go on in this rate by her own, especially not underground with the conditions they are living in...

Kaneki is not half ghoul, he is ghoulified. In terms of biology he is still 100% human, just have some ghoul organs and that has no impact on whether or not his child will be human.

Yes, mother's body recognizes fetus as food and eats it. That is why Touka's action has no sense. Eating some human food should not change the way her body sees her child.
But what do you think about Ukinas case, why was it more possible for her to birth Eto? Was it because she was able to consume human meat unlike touka who cannot eat normal food?

It's been established that Touka/Kaneki has parallels to Hikari/Arata. Chapter 129 shows that Touka/Kaneki is also related to Ukina/Yoshimura. Touka meeting Haise Sasaki at the beginning of TG :re is similar to Ukina meeting Yoshimura at a cafe. Both Yoshimura and Haise Sasaki frequented a cafe because their lover Ukina/Touka works there. Both Yoshimura and Kaneki are lonely people, who were brought out of their loneliness due to bonds with their lover. Touka, Hikari, and Ukina look similar, they all have bob haircuts. The fact that Touka is being compared to both Hikari and Ukina is a huge death flag. Both Hikari and Ukina died tragically. I don't think Touka will get killed by somebody. I think Touka will die from childbirth due eating human food sapping all of her energy. Touka eating hamburgers negatively affects her body more than Ukina eating human flesh. So rather than getting murdered or killed, Touka's death will be due to child bearing.

But since they had sex, there seems to be some time passed between then and this chapter, so who knows how many times they did it? And there has to be at least two weeks if they only did it once because that's the earliest a women can know she's pregnant. (Unless it's different for ghouls, but I doubt it)

I always see your videos when I finish a TG chapter and I'm amazed at how your able to find out the hidden symbols within then. Now I'm gonna have to re-read it lml excellent analysis man. TBH I'm hoping Ishida gives us a huge 180 and this all can be resolved with just Kaneki and Furuta going at it one on one. No necessary blood shed or full on war like Anteiku raid. Maybe even have the ones that have mixed feelings in all of this support it like the Qs and Suzuhya. Making sure that Furuta doesn't do any dishonorable. But at the rate that it's going it seems that Furuta has everyone under his thumb in the CCG.....

I do not think that what Touka is doing is a smart thing to do...
1. If a pregnant woman would eat human flesh then the child would still be fine, as you said we humans can digest it.
2. If I remember corectly the problem with ghoul mother pregnant with human father is not that the child gets malnourished but the fact that the ghoul mother's body mistakes the fetus for a food and digest it.
So unless Touka is trying to weaken her body so that it cannot digest the child, then there is no point. The child will die.
Well. Ishida did do some parallelism with Touka "make it through" repeatedly as she eats it in the toilet and drinking waterr. In TG 1, she was drinking water wanting to "pass it", or to vomit out the human food.
Instead of wanting to reject the human food like in her past, Touka is now trying to keep the food down.
When in doubt, whip it out.

plus the biological science behind this is kinda stupid because touka's organs can't even digest that food so the baby is gonna receive as much as touka is consuming, which is nothing, smh ishida-kun attend some biology classes, that baby is better off just eating human meat.

Im not understanding why Touka needs to eat human food. If the child is gonna be a half ghoul then it needs to eat human meat to survive. Human food would only harm Touka and the baby. When a ghoul gets pregnant by a human, the ghouls body sees the fetus as food. So by eating human food, she is essentially making her body more desperate for human meat which the fetus can provide.

46 minutes.... the flashbacks of hour plus reviews hit me in the feels
A couple things I noticed that I didn't hear you touch on. In the panel after Kaneki burns the letter, again done against the white background, there sfx ugh and oh. I connect that to the snap from the previous white panel. I don't agree with the fact that he was told to punch Yoriko, but I do believe in order to put on the ruse that he was opposing Yoriko, he may have slapped her. Pretending not to care or even go against her so he can rescue her later Hinami style. Other possibilities include Mutsuki really snapping off Yoriko's hand, someone snapping someone's neck, or even Takomi's father slapping him.
Another thing that got missed is a full discussion on what Kaneki burning the letter was really about. They are underground. There is little need to cover things up like that. So I believe it was twofold. One, Kaneki didn't want Touka reading it and going off by herself to confront Mutsuki. Two, a vague possible protection of Mutsuki. Kaneki still doesn't fully understand Mutsuki's insanity yet. So it would stand to reason that he would try and protect his previous subordinate, regardless of her actions.

+Chibi Reviews Hey Chibi! One possible solution I've been thinking off for the food problem is the use of funeral homes. I think this is on a show (like iZombie though I'm not sure because I dont watch it) but maybe GOAT can use the corpses taken before the funeral or after the burial (if there is one off those ceremonies where the casket is on display for people to see farewells). It crosses some lines, but I don't think Kaneki and GOAT would have a meltdown over it as the humans are dead, buried, and most likely never to be dug up again. I don't really know if some people do but from what I have seen the bodies are usually there even after they're skeletons. If Furata by any chance thinks of this too, GOAT can just get the meat out and put the skeleton back (like in Aogiri base in the 11th ward where the lower class ghouls and Kaneki had to pick the bones out to give the meats to the Aogiri members)
I really hope Im not clueless and this was introduced before.

Okay remember the Dragon that Furuta mentioned in previous chapter? Well there's a reference to the first part of Tokyo ghoul. While Hide is trying to call Kaneki(I think) there's a poster behind of the group Red Dragon. Maybe Hide is the Dragon Furuta mentioned?
Chibi, about Kaneki bleeding from his eye. Remember during the Cochlea raid when Kaneki's vision temporarily got worse and blurry (also the fact that he wore glasses as The Black Reaper). It could have something to do with that.

I don't think Kaneki read the letter. The seal was not broken so maybe he just burned it without reading it. He knows that whatever's in it is a trap.
me i think tht the baby will be exactly like arima( human with ghouls psysical capacity) because kaneki is a human and not a 100hunned ghoul and toka is a ghoul. so the baby will be human and wont have a kagune and will be able to eat normal food.
so its like toka have a human inside her and her body naturally takes the baby as food so she have to weaken her body for the baby to survive inside her and not die and also feed the baby with normal food(sake)

The las statment "just like the food her friend yotiko...." Means that, just like that time when she forced herself to eat the food made by Yoriko because she cared for her, she is forcing herself now to eat that hamburguer because her baby needs it.
People forget when Amon and Kaneki were talking, Amon mentions" if the people you knew were to somehow come back to you, what would you do?" Kaneki said he would have forgotten them. Hopefully we'll see more of this.
I noticed in the page where squad 0 stopped the ogai kid, hirako was in a white coat and a black shirt underneath. would this be a hint towards sides or being a spy? But then again, everyone was basically wearing black in the chapter. Except for the panel where we see Yoriko, and the people near her were wearing white.
I understand the whole meaning behind using the chess board (bureau room) as to show taekomi's side but last week I also noticed furuta himself was on a white diamond when entering the room so is it reading too much into it or just a coincidence for them being in whatever coloured diamond?
If touka is forced to fight in the next few chapters then I see that being fucked up for both her and the child cause of her kagune type.

I was thinking if the old OEK has a community/city with humans and ghouls then what if there are interspecies relationships, where ghould are able to have one eyed children or even the other way around for successors for the throne of the OEK. Now if this is the case they may have a way to also help touka have her child and maybe another reason for kanekis search into the deeper part of the 24th ward. All just a theory though, give your thoughts too!
Actually it would make more sense for kaneki to let yoriko die because that would then get the message to the last truly sound minded investigators that ccg is no longer worth fighting for. Btw touka really not a good time to have a half ghoul or half human child with a congregation of starving ghouls around, cause once they get a whiff of that smell their gonna want to eat that baby regardless of reason.
I thought that the requirements for hybrid ghoul to be born required a human mother. That is willing to engage in cannibalism, in order to give it the necessary nutrients. However wasn't it mentioned by Itori that if the mother is a ghoul her body would mistake the baby for food and absorb it.
That's why I feel like the ghoul mother should just be given Rc suppressants, not eating human food.
saljpal3 doesn't a ghoul eating human food basically have a milder effect of rc suppressants? Also rc suppressants are hard to come by.

I haven't read EVERY CHAPTER but i do keep up with this so sorry but how can touka 's baby eat a burger if human food is poisonous to ghouls? isn't her baby a ghoul too? or is this different because of kANeki being a one eyed ghoul? So if her baby eats this then??? um wouldn't it die too?
In volume 4 page 86 it actually states that " if the mother is a ghoul, even if she becomes pregnant.... her body confuses the fetus for nourishment and absorbs it." I think her child would to be something unique even amongst one eyed ghouls.

I don't understand why Touka would have to eat human food. Don't natural one eyed ghouls eat human flesh also? From what I understand if a human father and a ghoul mother conceive a child usually the mother's body will absorb the fetus. In order to stop that from happening couldn't she be given Rc suppressants?
Rc suppressants are way more dangerous and harder to obtain. Human food fucks up rc cells similar to how suppressants do, it is easy to obtain and it also feeds the child plus that it has been stated that most of the ghouls of goat are starving, so human flesh is also harder to get.
@Chibi Reviews, If you look near the back of the second volume of Tokyo Ghoul where Touka takes Kaneki to the under ground passage, she tells him that it was made a long time ago by the "Tokyo Ghouls". So Tokyo Ghouls from the city of Tokyo Ghoul???
