Have no problem with real ones, but these fakes, with the fact that they either never get an ending (because *gasp* that would mean harem), or are really OTL/OTP stories with the other girls there for harem tease, drama.. and to cockblock the main couple in most cases OC. (see main topic of this post) I don't even want to get started on the "omg, a girl or girls, like me.. this is the worst thing ever,, I have it so bad.. I think that Kaneki was crying, not because of sadness, but from happiness. As he grew he never had the love of anyone. A missing father, an abusive mother, and a horrible aunt were the figures that kaneki grew up with. The only "love" he ever got was from Hide, who he thinks he is dead (I say "think" because I believe that Hide is alive somehow). Touka's parents where killed, Ayato left her, and now Yoriko her (probably) only human friend could be dead, and she feels responsible for it. Both Kaneki and Touka are feeling sad and lonely and this chapter kind of represents how they use each other and bond over that loneliness. They have each other for moral support, they don't feel lonely anymore, and I think that when Kaneki understood that, he cried.
Touka also looks like she filled that "mother love" hole Kaneki has, for in the last page not only the butterfly wing could symbolize freedom (from the trapped butterfly in the first page), but Kaneki's fetal position looks like a baby next to a gentle Touka.
Also can't we talk about how much of dorks those 2 are? Kaneki embarrassed, unable to take Touka's bra off, and Touka getting stuck with her buttoned-up shirt. Although they where embarrassed, they made sure to make each other feel comfortable, like the scene were Kaneki feels insecure about his body and Touka just takes her shit of to make him feel like she doesn't mind and she accepts him (a panel of her eye is emphasized after they show kaneki's wound) . Overall I think that Ishida didn't just make this for fanservice, and we can actually analyze a lot form this chapter.

Marude mention him "Nagachika" saying that his suspicions where "right." The only Nagachika in the series is Hide. I think that Ishida is making us believe that Hide is dead but he is somehow pulling some strings and helping Kaneki. Also in the re-illustrated 1st chapter Hide is jokingly telling Kaneki that he is a ghoul, and knowing how Ishida is, maybe it has something to do with that..

People keep talking about death flags but honestly I can't see Touka dying, and one main reason is because Yomo is still alive. His reason for living was to kill Arima, and protect Touka and her brother. Hey Chibi, I have another interpretation for this. The title of the chapter was "X" right? Don't you think it could mean the Tenth Tarot Card, The Wheel of Fortune? Throughout the entire series, Ishida-sensei represented the Tarot Cards with roman numerals, that said, X would be Ten.
Here's a general interpretation of the Tenth Card: _This card always reminds us that "this too shall pass." Whether that's good times or bad times, it passes. If suddenly you find yourself "sitting on top of the world," keep your perspective, as that too, like everything else, changes. Live in the now, count your blessings, and just realize that much of life is outside of your control, but that even that is okay. Roll with any changes, and think positively._
The Tenth Card is said to represent change, or a turning point in life. Remember the butterfly symbolism? Butterflies undergo metamorphosis, wherein they transform from larva to pupa to adult. Metamorphosis represents change too, like the Tenth Card.
And from another source that I've found, it is said that the change that will occur brings luck/fortune/great joy. And indeed, Kaneki has found great joy in this chapter, and you yourself said that this is one of the happiest moments in this series.
This is just a theory however, so it may not be true, but it might as well could.
