Hey Lauren those Japanese peanuts are very popular in the Mexican culture. The backstory is in the late 1800’s thru 1950, there was a rush of Japanese immigrants coming to Mexico because of better wages and better living conditions. The Japanese peanut was actually invented by Yoshigei Nakatani, a Japanese immigrant who arrived in Mexico in 1932. You’ll be surprised that there are some Japanese Mexicans living in Mexico! Also I feel like that box didn’t make it justice. They are a lot more Mexican candy that are way more popular like Pelon Pelo Rico, payasos, or any Lucas candy. Those chocolate frogs or green balls… I have never heard of them!

Love love love watching your videos! I came across your content early this summer while searching for Alaska videos to prepare for our first trip/cruise to Alaska. One of your videos from your cruise was one of the first videos to come up & after watching it, I had to watch them all & subscribe to your channel You provided so much information & being “native” Alaskan , so much more additional insight & tips for each port!
We cruised the first week of July & had absolutely beautiful warm weather, not a drop of rain the whole trip, which we heard was quite unusual! I loved seeing the beauty of Alaska (only took me 63 years to get there!) & would go back in a heart beat! Anyway, after coming home I had to go back & start watching the rest of your videos & watching your day to day life! I’m hooked!

Piroshki are yummy. I haven't had any in awhile. Now I need to make some... LoL... time to find a good recipe. Pierogi are yum too; I make or buy them often: dumplings stuffed with potatoes, cheese, green onion and a little garlic... Mmmm. Boil until they float, then fry in butter until lightly golden brown 🥟
Beautiful Peonies. I absolutely love the pink and white. Definitely need to plant some. I love a fresh linen scent, so I know I'd like the candle and spray. I wonder if the two soap brands come in Jasmine - my favorite floral scent. We have friends from our extended fellowship that sell their soaps, lotions, salve, etc., at the Marketplace during Sukkot. They raise their own goats. I always stock up, especially the Jasmine and Jasmine w. Rose Buds. I love the artwork, clothing, signs, jewelry and other variety of goods in these local, small businesses. Greens are my favorite colors too, and purples 🌸
I finally tasted rhubarb, in a strawberry rhubarb pie... meh... loved the strawberries, but ended up picking out the rhubarb. Perhaps I should try making it homemade 🤷🏼♀️

Unlike your Mark, my Mark is not a fun guy when it comes to fungi... LoL. I, on the other hand, enjoy most fungi. It's so interesting to hear Mark share his knowledge. The eye glass malfunction made me laugh 🍄
The garden and potato patch are looking great. Love the tiny cabbages. We're having cabbage with dinner tonight: turkey kielbasa, peppers, onions, garlic and cabbage over buttery garlic egg noodles. I usually use an Italian dressing based sauce, but I'm out, so I'm using basil pesto this time (but sun-dried tomato pesto would also be good). Hearing about and seeing your garden gets me excited about our future garden; though, I am happy that I won't have to deal with weeds too much 👩🏼🌾
Sorry about your ankle. I can relate. Have you tried the ball exercises? Without shoes, place a tennis ball under your foot - start at toes, then middle/arch, then heel - roll the ball forward, back and in circular motion clockwise then counterclockwise. Repeat 10 reps, then ice your ankle for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat 2 to 3 times per day. It helps to strengthen your ankle/foot and relieve flare-ups. Healing prayers 🙏
It's fun seeing the products you use in your giveaways. If I win, I'd be happy, yet, I'd be just as happy knowing that your kindness and the thought you put into your giveaways will make someone's day and put a smile on their face. I love my Geometry towels so much. Neutrals, soft muted pastels and greens are my favorite. So many options. I recommend them highly. The earrings are beautifully designed. I'm not a dangly earring gal though. My niece-in-love makes jewelry (& other works) using metals, resin, yarn, hemp, etc. All are made with love, and are beautiful with a boho style 📿
Those treat boxes look interesting. I've heard of and/or eaten most of those Mexican treats. Mark loves that particular Takis. I can only eat one or two before my taste-buds go into lockdown and my tolerance for spicy things causes a riot... LoL. Love seeing the kids enjoying the goodies and sharing with one another 🍭

Spanard roadhouse has the best fried calamari in alaska. The owners own 3 places in anchorage. I've tried in every restaurant in anchorage and by far they make it the best.
Now I have to go back! I love calamari!

Oh no, those peanuts, japanese style are very much Mexican 😂 we just call it like that, cacahuates japoneses but They are typical here, you can find that type of peanuts everywhere, is almost the most usual way of eating peanuts here

Finally a break in the weather. I had so much coming along. The Boys are getting so Big. Your Garden and Bees are looking so good. You should try Greenstalk Planter for your Strawberries and herbs. They stack, they would be perfect for your deck. Lots of people have great luck with Strawberries and lettuce.
Can't believe summer is almost at an end. Illinois is cooling down, but everything is so green. The Cornfields look amazing. Golden tops. God Bless Hawaii.
I should look into that for strawberries and lettuce. I love having lettuce right on the deck and where the slugs can't snack on it. Maybe next year!

Will ants hurt my beehive?
Beehives are especially appealing to ants, and if the ants are of an aggressive persuasion, this can spell trouble for your hive. Not only can they take over a hive and eat bee larvae, they can cause a weak bee colony to collapse if the bees are unable to fight off invasion. The site said get to know the kind of ants in your area, ex. mild, aggressive, or swomewhere in between, I also read to place them on a stand. For some reason I thought it should be metal. I feel for you about the ankle flair ups, and the "shoebootie" (our made up word lol). Tamarinds are sour but tasty when made like a juice or water. Please remember that candy from there will have chili in it and the chocolate will have cinnamon. A very informative video today. 💖💖💖 Much love
