      The grandparents are so great. You are so right about having them around. You don't fully appreciate them until they are gone. I relied on my parents so much. They are gone now and they are sorely missed.

    I travelled to Antarctica on an expedition holiday, we were all given bright orange jackets to wear on the isolated trips to shore where the only company was 🐧 🐧 🐧, 🦭 🦭 🦭 and loads of 🦅 🦢 🦅. We weren't expected to wear them when we visited the 2 towns we stopped at..Port Stanley and Ushuaia.
    I think I would enjoy Alaska very much. Thank you for sharing your adventures xx

Hope your symptoms are minimal .I lost my taste buds for a while and then things I loved I couldn't consume..coffee..chocolate. peanut butter..strange..but it came bk.it also caused high blood pressure briefly & made my sugar spike and I'm not diabetic. @@mimi0424 hi Michelle, feeling a little better today. Am on antiviral therapy as I am already lesser abled. Am hoping for not much more affecting me longer term than maybe extra fatigue. I hope I have no longer term issues like aversion to chocolate. That would be bad news for me. Have barely eaten all week but am craving salty foods even more than normal. Keep safe. Good Morning Mark, Lauren and boys. I really enjoy watching your adventures. The glacier and scenery are beyond beautiful. I love that the boys are always doing and trying fun things, and congratulations on earning their Junior Ranger Badges. I remember when I was a kid earning a badge and certificate for completing a summer program for Junior Law Enforcement. My son was a member of the Civil Air Patrol when he was younger. Good times. Sorry Mark couldn't make it, but that's how things go sometimes. It's so nice that you stay in touch while you're away. Something we do as well. Too bad we can't do the same for our FurBabies when we're away, but the abundance of headbutts, wigglebutts, meows and loving barks upon our return makes up for it. Luna is so cute coming to welcome you home. She reminds me of our Esther whom we lost a few years ago, 2019. Keep making adventures no matter how big or small. Have many a blessed day ahead ❤️
    Answer to your question:
    In Chatham VA (Danville), an ear of fresh corn on the cob is $0.50 each ear. It's yummy and I have some in my fridge waiting to be eaten.
    BTW, a gallon of whole milk is $3.96, and a gallon of gas is $3.38... seeing the prices in Alaska is shocking 😳

    That beach looks like our here in Victoria B.C. Canada 🇨🇦 🍁 Called Island View Beach. Trailer and tent camping. We go late August as our children do not go back to school until September and they have three different types or pear trees as well as alot of apple trees that grow wild and of course blackberries. 😋😋😋

      Wow! That sounds amazing to have all those different fruits! We actually don't have blackberries naturally in Alaska. We do have a lot of huckleberries, blueberries, and raspberries!

    Thanks for posting! I love seeing the different parts of Alaska and camping near a skate park was a great idea!! I also wanted to comment on the price of corn on the cob. Here is Nova Scotia we currently are paying roughly $0.55/cob. We used to be able to get a dozen for $3.00 but are fortunate because it’s all local. Milk however…is $6.29/gallon! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer!

    I love your vlogs. You capture so much beauty that ppl around the world can see. That may not see in person. I ❤️ that you share your family with us recipes & all kinds of ideas ...the tin foil meals Dad made lok delicious and such a great low cost idea!!! That cake/cobbler looking dish looked amazing! I would have never known you would be able to do that! Can't wait for the next vlog! Oh YT is deleting comments..from other channels..Why idk? Even if they are short and sweet comments. So just incase some1 thinks you erased it personally...no way. It's weird. But I only really watch a few people faithfully...and I have seen it on several thx for sharing Lauren!! Xoxo
    PS tell Everett I recently tried PButter on my Pancakes just a bit & it was delicious delicious..no syrup needed ..also may think this is gross but a grilled/campfire hot dog 🌭 w a tiny bit of just peanut butter is delicious! I thought my friend was crazy..then tried it. I like mine slightly charred/burnt..makes them better.

    Hi guys, cool fun going on....I found it interesting that your diesel is more expensive than your gas. Over here in NZ it's the opposite, but I guess as you have to also purchase road user kms if you use diesel it may work out the same? During the summer here in NZ the corn is usually around 5 for $2.00/$3.00 but I'm dreading to think what it's going to be this summer.....how much more expensive will things be in December.... ?

      I thought that aswell noticed on last video?!🇬🇧

    • @ThisAlaskaLife
      @ThisAlaskaLife  2 роки тому

      Yes! I need to address this in a future video. It is VERY common in Alaska for your windshield to be cracked. Most have them. During the winter they use gravel on the roads for traction. That gravel often shoots up and hits the window. Then when the temperature gets cold and you have your heater on in the car, all of the sudden you get a big crack. We get them fixed but it is only a matter of time before you get another one.
